Excellent hotel and accessible with lifts and ramps. There is plenty of space and room to get around. Rooms are spacious. The hotel has the historic old house called the 'palcete vista alegre' in its surroundings. Swimmimg pool was nice and warm.

Before I review the hotel proper let me just say Lamego is a really cool town and this hotel is an upscale place from which to explore it. The staff were excellent. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy and parking was in a secure underground parking area. The restaurant is nice but I would recommend going out - there are better choices in town. The pool, hot tub, steam room and dry sauna are great! Clean and functioning. My girlfriend got a spa treatment. She could not have been more pleased. Her massage therapist was engaging and did a wonderful job. She called it a real value. The room was very nice. Big bed and amazing view. And the pièce de résistance was a strong flowing, clean shower. I’m really glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Lamego.

We had a really lovely stay in the Douro Valley. Pedro at the front desk was beyond helpful. He booked us an amazing vineyard tour/tasting. Everyone was beyond helpful and friendly. The hotel is nice, clean and offers a very nice breakfast and onsite snacks. We were a little confused when we pulled into the property on where to park - the garage is under the property. The pool is beautiful and made for a nice place to sit and enjoy our morning coffee.

Hotel with large outdoor pool and spa. 2 km from centre of Lamego. Public areas very smart, staff very good, excellent buffet breakfast. Very busy with families in late June. Car park was full most of the time, but always space at the front of the hotel. The restaurant was very disappointing. The food was expensive and mediocre, and the service was poor. We ate in the bar on our 2nd night, which was as bad, food served on wooden platters which meant it was cold! Drinks were very expensive. Mixed experience really, though would probably stay again.

My girlfriend got a spa treatment. She could not have been more pleased. Her massage therapist was engaging and did a wonderful job. She called it a real value. The room was very nice. Big bed and amazing view. And the pièce de résistance was a strong flowing, clean shower. I’m really glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Lamego.

The staff was amazing and the facility was spacious and clean anywhere we went. There were great spaces to releax by the pool, enjoy breakfast, and sun. The staff was extremely helpful and offered to book a win tasting tour nearby which was such a pleasant experience. I would come back to stay if I were in the area.

The hotel was spotless, beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing. We ate dinner there one night, which was also very reasonable and delicious. I loved that they included a bottle of wine with the room. They had a wonderful bar and hang out area so we could go drink wine and play cards.

Rooms were just okay, quite basic, very stark. The property, lobby, and restaurant were beautiful which was quite a contrast to rooms. Carpet was a bit dirty and musty smell in hallways. Pool and bar area was beautiful. Town was extremely quiet when we were there and unsure of walking around at night. Exceptional wine tour by Bambuti arranged by hotel. Overall a nice stay.

Carpet should be upgraded to something more comfortable Walls are very thin and we had to ask to move rooms. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Restaurant was nice although over priced. Spa area is nice to hang out in on a cloudy day. The walk into lamego is only 20 mins and not so tough with the hills.

The hotel was really nice & clean just the bathroom glasses not really cleaned but we did it ourselves Staff were very helpful & friendly especially Miguel in the bar, pool & restaurant area Great hotel & a good area to be in.

We loved our stay at the Lamego Hotel & Life Hotel. The property was great with a lovely Spa where we had an amazing 90 minute massage, great bar and restaurant. We found all the staff to be so friendly, polite and helpful always going over and above. The reception staff were particularly exceptional as they helped me with winery reservations and transport to wineries and restaurants. They were also very helpful to my husband in storing his bike and helping him to plan safe cycle routes Thank you so much for our wonderful stay.

My experience here isn’t what I would expect of a 4 star hotel. We were in the area to celebrate and anniversary and birthday. I travel quite a bit and haven’t experienced something like this. The hotel did not have an iron/steamer in the rooms (common in Europe). I would have called services to request one but our room phone wasn’t working. After finding someone on my floor to assist they said they will get us one but 30 mins there was no available iron/steamer. They then later they said it’s all being used and we will need to pay for the hotel to iron for us. I decided to head to the front desk to figure out what can be done. To my luck, the elevator shuts down and I’m stuck. After they get me out, they offer simple verbal consolation. They then say they will arrange an iron for us by the time we return from our excursions. We return in the evening and nothing. The service is extremely lackluster. No one knows how to handle any situation. In any other hotel with a little common sense, the front desk or hotel manager would give some consolation or make an effort to make a guest feel comforted after they get stuck in an elevator and are forced to wear wrinkled clothes but here nothing. While checking out they asked how my stay is. I said terrible and the agent shows no attempt at remorse. I know this isn’t the Ritz Carlton but for a 4-Star hotel, I expect some basic customer service. Id expect better from a quality inn.

Modern hotel with a large pool near the old town of Lamego. We really enjoyed our stay here! The room was spacious and breakfast was generous. The hotel’s design is nice too and the pool is lovely. We didn’t use the indoor pool as it was sunny when we were there but it looked great too
