Overall the stay was great. The location and breakfast were great, staff was friendly. Upon arrival we noticed that the room could have done with more thorough cleaning (dust on furnitures / side tables, debris on the floor, water still in the kettle from previous guests). There was also a tile missing off the bathroom wall. The elevator and the carpet in the common areas including bedroom corridors could also do with a better cleaning...

We arrived during a very hot day and the hotel, as so many others in Oslo, did not have air conditioning in the rooms. They did offer a portable fan, but it is not sufficient in days when the temperature is over 30. This is a problem in many Scandinavian hotels, because they are designed to trap the heat in - no let it out quickly when it gets too hot. The bathroom was minimal, and the shower design creates a lot of spillage around the whole room. Reception service was always welcoming and impeccable. The highlight of this hotel is really the breakfast. Probably the best I have seen in Europe - really varied, with fresh fruit, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free pastry options. It equals South American breakfasts, where variety is usually so much better. If the price was right and it was not during a very hot season, I would stay here again (despite the bathroom issue).
