Thon Hotel Europa

We arrived after 1:30 am and were greeted with a smile and quickly checked in. Our room had everything we needed including a fan which was nice since there is no AC and it’s a warm summer. Breakfast buffet is plentiful, dinner at the restaurant was very good. All staff are friendly. Good location.

God beliggenhet, god frokost og god atmosfære. Greie rom. Jeg har alltid likt det lille treningsrommet på hotellet, men dette er nå utslitt. Apparatene er ødelagt og har vært det lenge! Jeg velger et annet hotell inntil treningsrommet er oppgradert.

A really well balanced hotel. Room wasn’t huge but had everything I needed and even included a balcony (though was too cold to use in October). I didn’t make use of the breakfast but it looked well set out. The hotel gym was excellent - far better than the pictures suggest. Area was clean, professional and obviously very safe. Great option for a solo traveller.

Nice hotelbut needs an renewal boost. Pretty basic and not what you expect from 4* Thon. Outdated and loud rooms at the street side (trams). Need better sound isolation. Breakfast is fine but nothing special. Coffee in the lobby is a nice extra.

We only needed one overnight stay and appreciated the closeness to the train station. One front desk agent was much more helpful than the other but otherwise the hotel was fine. The bar next door made delicious cocktails and there are several restaurants nearby.

Rien à redire. Bien situé, chambre agréable, petit dej au top et une vraie salle de sport. On recommande !

Hotel is located in a great location within walking distance of several attractions. I travel often and the staff was exceptional. The front desk has to be the best I have encountered. They greeted me every time, helpful with questions and suggestions. Breakfast was amazing, highly recommended. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel and the food was great as was the staff. I also had a very early flight and they offered me a breakfast to go which was a first for me and was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was wonderful and liked that coffee was available throughout the day in the lobby. Room was comfortable and gym was well equipped.

Bortsett fra litt dårlig renhold på rommet, var alt veldig bra. Gode senger, super frokost, super beliggenhet.

Rengøringen kunne være bedre, samt de glemte at låse døren.

This hotel is located close to National Theatre rail station which is a direct link to the airport. There is a tram stop and taxi rank close by, although we found it so easy to walk around this beautiful city. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very welcoming . The hotel provided the best breakfast I have experienced on my many travels. The only diwnside was that they missed making up our room on the agreed day, but fresh towels were provided promptly. The hotel is highly recommended despite this slight mishap.

Rent och fräscht men viktigast av allt. Bemötandet. Supertrevliga och otroligt vänliga personer som arbetar i receptionen. Favoritstället i Oslo.

Location is very closed to King Palace and Harbor. Staff in B/F restaurant were friendly and Food was nice. Just one point to be improved, there was a hair remained in the bath. However, totally OK.

Rimmey var støvete og til dels møkkete i kriker og kroker. Service of frokost var utmerket.

Hotel was fine. We had a glasses case that was on the bed when we left one day, when we returned the bed had been made and clothes folded up and placed around the room by the maid service - glasses case missing. We notified reception who then did not follow up with the cleaners until we contacted them again two hours later. After 2+ days of asking they tell us that nothing was found - so where is it? These item don't just vanish into thin air. The hotel has not made any offer to reimburse the item that went missing during their interventions and clearly had no intention to explore deeper. The reception team gave the impression they couldn't care less hence the delay in contacting maid services to begin with within an hour after the maid visit. The opportunity was quickly lost by their poor internal communications.

Rummet var väldigt varmt, öppnade fönstret stängde av elementet men ändå otroligt varmt så svårt att sova.

A nice hotel including spacious room, great location, good pricing and absolutely the best included breakfast spread of any hotel we have stayed at in 50 years! But oh the downside! The west facing room was unbearably hot. No A/C. For 2 nights in a row, the room only got down to 26 degrees overnight. We hardly slept. Made worse by the loud rumbling trams coming right under our open window every 2 mins until 1.30am!! Bathroom on the small side as well. It was not a sensible choice for mid summer!

Room was at a good price for the location. We were on the eighth floor and our room got quite warm. There was a fan but no air conditioning.

Dårlig trykk og blandebatteri i dusjen på rommet, men ellers fint opphold, frokosten var god og resepsjonen svært hjelpsomme og hyggelige. Rommet var litt trangt men hadde det jeg trengte, inkludert et smalt skrivebord. jeg fikk overraskende nok balkong med utsikt til Slottsparken

Rooms were small but well equipped. Bathroom was very small and shower wet the complete floor area. Hotel is in a good location in the city. Public transport is very good.

Kamer was prima, badkamer is wat onhandig met een douchescherm waar t water onderdoor komt, kortom nog steeds alles nat. De drukknop van het toilet viel van ellende er bijna uit. Verder is het hotel denk ik in de basis van hout, je kan de buren aan alle kanten wel horen. Daarnaast rijden de trams naast t hotel langs, die hoor je vrij goed en er is een stop iets voorbij het hotel, waardoor je de geluiden van het openen en sluiten op een gegeven moment kan dromen. Personeel zeer vriendelijk!

Fantastic hotel and location! I enjoyed the stay however I must note that the hotel room did not have air conditioning which is common in Europe but uncommon in the US so it was a bit of adjustment.

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fabulous. However, the insulation between floors is not that great. We heard voices and every step from our upstairs neighbors and since they stayed up to midnight, it cut in our sleep time.

Breakfast is amazing. Location perfect. Staff incredibly helpful but.....the room is the size of a prison cell!!!

Veldig vennlig og hjelpsomme. Kom tidlig og skulle bare spørre om bagasjeoppbevaring, men fikk rom i stedet, 3 timer før vanlig innsjekk. Stort og fint rom. Rent og fresh, så veldig nytt ut. Og fantastisk utsikt. Og en utrolig god og variert frokost, veldig ryddig, rent og hele tiden velfylt.

We loved Thon Hotel Europa! And we would have given it 5 stars - the hotel location, room, etc were great. The free breakfast was delightful as was most of the staff. But not Anwar, or as we refer to him forever more, as the “food police.” On our way out of breakfast I took two slices of already buttered bread that I could not finish, in a napkin, for later. We were walking out of the dining room when Anwar stopped me, not even asking what was in the napkin, and proceeded to tell me that I cannot take food out. It must all be eaten in the dining room. I asked him why and he said that “it costs the hotel money” as he forced me to leave the bread on the counter and would not let us pass until I did. He was always milling about the exit and we finally understood why. We stayed for 4 nights, 2 of which were spent traveling to the fjords, not partaking in Anwar’s “costly" breakfast but did not ask for or receive refunds for the breakfast that we did not eat or the room that we did not stay in - even though that costed us, the customers, money. The lovely front desk agent, Belinda, tried to reason with him on my behalf but he refused to budge. Belinda indicated that upper management would get back to me but they never did. Nor did they respond to any messages after the fact. This is not about the bread, but rather the petty, classless, behavior of one employee that this hotel hired and the failure of anyone at Thon Hotels to apologize for this incomprehensible behavior.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. I interacted with staff at the reception desk, the restaurant and housekeeping. All the staff represented the company well.

Staff have been perfect throughout. Room is just right with good amenities. Breakfast was perfect with such a good selection.

We had a wonderful stay at the Europa. The breakfast was amazing, the staff was awesome, the beds where comfy and it was located in a great location. The only downside was the walls were thin and it was nosy. Otherwise we loved it. Would stay again.

Great location

The Hotel is a few steps away from the Royal Palace. You can walk to almost all the major attractions of the city, but if you prefer there is a tram stop just outside the hotel. Our room was on the second floor, it was clean, quite and the bed very comfortable. The hotel staff at the reception was really friendly, reliable and gave us all the information we needed. I truly suggest to book this hotel if you want to enjoy Oslo city center.😊

Thon Europa is located perfectly next to tram and bus depots so getting to the centre of Oslo is easy with the Oslo card. The breakfast was also very good with an extensive selection of different dishes to choose from.

Hotel seemed clean very convenient and walkable to attractions/museums/parks and the National Theater station (helpful for high speed rail service to the airport- starts in the early AM and is well worth it).

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights in September. We had a lovely stay with a nice big room, a very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast options each morning. The location is quiet - we could only hear brief gentle rumbles from the trams nearby. Very well connected for public transport too!

Great location in a 5' walk from the royal castle. Tram station right next to the hotel. Very good breakfast.

The breakfast was delicious, and with huge spread. It is near the National Theatre Station and the tram stop is just a few steps away.

Had a wonderful week at Europa. Staff were very friendly throughout my stay. Room was a good size and clean. Shower was hot so exactly what was needed in January. Breakfast has a massive selection and all cooked very well. Wifi was fast and nice to have a free coffee in reception. Would consider again for a future stay.

Rommene på Thon har ALT en trenger for en forretningsreise (uansett størrelse på rommet). Frokosten var utmerket, og ekstra koselig fordi en eldre, veldig blid herre, som jobbet der, var raskt på pletten for å vise vei til det jeg måtte ha av ønske for mat og drikke.

We had a good stay at Thon Hotel Europa. The location is very good. The breakfast was perhaps not as good as some other similar hotels in Oslo I have stayed at and the choice of TV channels somewhat limited, but on the whole the hotel served our needs and the staff was very friendly.
