The neighborhood will be changing in the upcoming years. Currently industrial, with construction across the street and lots of empty warehouses. The streets above have fancy coffee shops and stores - and the hotel is in walking distance to everything and the central train station. Very quiet area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a casual, low key, not fancy hotel with basic comforts (including a small gym and saunas). The staff in the buffet area stood out for their attentive care.

Easy check-in, clean rooms and helpful staff. 5-10 min walk from main station. Rooms are a little dated but this doesn’t detract from the property at all. Fantastic breakfast, fika, and evening meals provided in price. 24 hour tea & coffee downstairs. People utilising the lounge area near reception to gather or have coffee. Only downside was that sauna wasn’t operating when I stayed. Overall, great hotel with plenty of hygge.

Sentral beliggenhet som var helt etter våre behov, og litt spennende med arkitekturen i dette eldre bygget. Deler av bygget var under renovering, noe som ble forstyrrende under vårt opphold, men behovet for en oppgradering er nok til stede. Likevel gode senger og et greit opphold. Vær oppmerksom på at nærmeste anbefalte parkering er "grisedyr", kun med timebasert pris!!!

This hotel was great! Staff was super friendly a d helpful. They had a locking luggage storage closet. There was also a bunch of lighting in the room which is great! Most hotels I stay at nowadays you can barely see in. I would definitely stay here again!

5 mins walk to Opera house and Munch. Parking is 4 or 5 blocks away. Breakfast is very good. Including dinner is good enough for traveller who are tired to find restaurant.

Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig für einen Besuch der Oper des Munch Museums und der Karl Johann Gata (Fußgängerzone) alles fußläufig in 5 bis 10 min. zu erreichen. Gegenüber des Hotels befindet sich ein großer Parkplatz (200 NOK für 24 Std) Das Hotel bietet ein umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet, ganztägig Kaffee und Tee in der Lobby, nachmittags zusätzlich Kuchen und am Abend ein reichhaltiges Salatbuffet, Suppe und ein täglich wechselndes Hauptgericht, was alles im Preis includiert ist. Da wir in der Vorweihnachtszeit dort waren haben wir die gemütliche Lobby mit offenem Kamin und bequemen Sitzecken als sehr angenehm empfunden. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit sodass wir dieses Hotel empfehlen können und gerne wiederkommen Allerdings sind die Standart Doppelzimmer klein mit besonders kleiner Dusche.

Hotel was close to the train station (came in from the train) and the ferry station (left for Copenhagen the next day on the ferry), super convenient. Older hotel, friendly staff, very nice room. The room included dinner which was a nice surprise: the food was good, and included good salad and bread selections. Espresso machine in the lobby for general use. Would definitely stay here again, a couple of blocks off of the main roads.

Central beliggenhed. Meget lille badeværelse i værelset på 8 sal (608) værelset i øvrigt pænt stort og rent. Lidt ombygningsrod pga etablering af ny elevator.Udmærket morgenbuffet. Fint med inkluderet kaffe og kage om eftermiddagen, hvor man godt kan trænge til en lille pause. Der er også aftensmad, men det prøvede vi ikke. Personalet er meget hjælpsomt og imødekommende. Om natten gik brandalarmen pludselig- falsk alarm- alle ud ad den smalle trappe. Fik ingen forklaring.

The hotel was in walking distance of the downtown area and waterfront. Great view from our room, too. Spacious, clean, and very well kept. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Best part was the free breakfasts and light dinners. Amazing fresh and delicious meals!

The excellent meals made our stay very relaxing. The staff was amazing. It was immaculate and quiet. But our room was way too small. The makeshift shower was very difficult. I am slim and I had to turn sideways to walk between the end of the bed and the TV. I heard that other rooms are quite large, but ours should have only had a twin bed.

Hotel com excelente localização, quarto amplo e confortável. Café da manhã excelente, jantar incluso na diária muito bom. Apenas o banheiro era muito pequeno com pouca vazão da água no ralo do box, molhando praticamente todo o espaço.

The free dinner was nice to have; the food was better than I expected. Breakfast was fine, though not as good as that as other hotels in this category elsewhere in Norway. Location is fairly convenient to sights and events, and quieter than hotels in the midst of city bustle. My standard double was cramped, and one needs Houdini skills to get in and out of the shower, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall a good value.

This property does not have air conditioning and our room windows open up to a busy street. It was hot and noisy. The windows till and do not allow for fresh air in. When we first asked at the front desk they said they do have ac so we shut the windows and it was HOT. Upon check out, the woman basically laughed in my face and said no AC, deal with it. The breakfast was great!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was great- a fantastic option in a city as expensive as Oslo. The deluxe room had plenty of space in the bedroom itself, less so in the bathroom but excellent value. Within short walk of trams/buses/ferries to all the main sites. Central location but quiet street. 10 minute walk from station made it an easy trip to/from the airport. We would certainly return here if we were to visit Oslo again.

First room had no hot water, second room was old and bathroom flooded after a bath, then my foot was injured due to a nail sticking out of the floor!! Disaster. No compassion shown to me at all! Very negligent. No compensation.

Very accommodating, had to add another night to our hotel and they made it happen with ease and without having to check out and wait to check into the new room Jill The breakfast was outstanding and dinner was good and considering both breakfast and dinner were included in the price it was a very good deal and great location to the water front area and train station.

Hotel Bastin was perfectly close located to tte dock of our cruise ship. Walking to the opera house and Christmas market was all an easy walk. Tte moment we entered the hotel we felt welcomed. The breakfast has a wide variety of food, all delicious! Dinner and afternoon Fika we enjoyed very much in a home atmosphere, sitting on tables next to the fireplace was so inviting during cold winter days. Would book it again!

Clarion Collection Hotel Bastion Is very conveniently located close to Central station, Oslo Opera House and Munch museum. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, good breakfast. The Hotel is close to the central train station, however it is on the same street as a red light district and you may encounter outdoor sex workers at night when travelling to the hotel. The front entrance has stairs and you will have to carry your luggage both directions and possibly on your room floor because parts of the building are not level across one floor. We arrived around 9PM and our "superior" room was given away even though it was confirmed through Hotels.com, but we were offered a tiny dark room with horrible mattress and a huge crack running across the tile bathroom floor. The window was covered so you could not see out, and the window would only open about an inch, probably to keep rain and birds out. One light was burnt out and made it extremely dark. Our travelling companions arrived earlier and got their "superior" room - it was indeed much nicer than what we got. The floor space in our room was so small we could barely open our suitcases and get to and from the door. They offered complimentary dinner and breakfast, and both were excellent.

This location cannot be beat. The rooms are a bit small, but the beds are super comfy, and the bathroom is clean and efficient. Love that water pressure!! The included dinner (different every night) and breakfast (European style) makes life very easy and economical. A touch of old world hospitality (think Italian pensionne of the 30s) with a killer coffee machine that is free and always available. Brilliant place to stay.

The excellent meals made our stay very relaxing. The staff was amazing. It was immaculate and quiet. But our room was way too small. The makeshift shower was very difficult. I am slim and I had to turn sideways to walk between the end of the bed and the TV. I heard that other rooms are quite large, but ours should have only had a twin bed.

Nothing was really not to be liked. Room was only just big enough for two people, but quite comfortable. The complimentary evening meal and breakfast was good but teeming with people at peak feeding time. Easy walk to many of the must see things.

Rooms were compact but still clean and equipped with necessities. Walking distance to station, opera house, Akershus fortress. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of hot and cold dishes and after a day of walking around Oslo we found the included dinner buffet was great. It was good basic home cooked food, usually a hot dish and vegetables, and a good assortment of salads. Given the price of food in Oslo this hotel offers a good deal with breakfast and dinner included, and even an afternoon sweet treat!

The place is very convenient.,center located, the room are very clean and comfortable, we only stayed one night, but i stayed in stavanger norway the same name chain hotel with half board. I am pleased with the hotel room, we booked three rooms, they are pretty happy about.
