Fabulous room and pool. Great food with the best view in Cornwall

Lovely views and friendly staff. Missing a final polish and speed of service . Shame the indoor pool had to booked around local lessons and that the gym had old and slightly tired equipment.

Really nice location with amazing views. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Ideally located for coastal walks. Some renovations/decorating taking place during our stay which we were unaware of at time of booking, would be good to flag this in advance. However a very relaxing and enjoyable break and we would definitely consider staying again in the future

Fabulous location, beautiful, clean room. Food was very good, breakfast, dinner and tea. Food service was slow at afternoon tea, good at breakfast and dinner time. Spa service with Emma was fantastic. Construction work in entry foyer while we were there, but alas, it has to be done sometime.

Firstly I must say that the service and food was excellent. The menu was extensive and delicious. The staff were brilliant- nothing was too much trouble. My spa treatment by Lucy was probably the best I’ve ever experienced. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The dining areas are well laid out and well maintained. The room was spacious enough although perhaps a little dated, and a little more storage space in the bathroom and bedroom would be beneficial. The snug was cozy and had several board games, these could do with updating as there were lots of games not complete, that said, although we didn’t use it the games room looked good and was well used mostly by children. Unfortunately the weather was not favourable as the cliff path walks are on the hotel door step and the nearby beaches looked nice. The hotel pool was closed for renovations so hopefully that will be a bonus. Overall a very pleasant stay.

I’m writing to escalate a complaint regarding my recent stay at Polurrian Hotel, booked through your platform from 18th to 20th July 2025 (Room 204). This is now my third attempt to seek resolution. Despite multiple emails and calls, the hotel has failed to respond meaningfully. When they do reply, they claim not to have received previous correspondence. Their refusal to cooperate has left me with no choice but to request your direct intervention. The stay was deeply disappointing, with multiple issues that fall far below the standards advertised on your site: • Unhygienic bedding: We discovered what appeared to be fresh blood stains on the mattress topper. Housekeeping responded but could not resolve the issue. • Misleading facilities: The gym was in poor condition, with broken or missing equipment. Staff showed no concern when we raised this. • Restricted access due to wedding: We were unable to access key areas like the lawn and pool due to a private event. Reception claimed guests were notified, but we received no such communication via Expedia. • Poor maintenance of spa and pool: The facilities were dirty, damaged, and unsafe. I have photo and video evidence. • Neglected games room and snug: Equipment was missing or broken, and the space was left in disarray. Loud music from the events room disrupted our evening. While breakfast and spa treatments were excellent, they do not compensate for the overall lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer care.

Lovely hotel, six wonderful days. So much to see in the surrounding area, well positioned, lovely views. Only downside was the indoor pool. Too cold and too small. Went deep very quickly. But overall 9/10.

I think the outdoor pool needs a bit of TLC. Surrounding tiles of the pool needed good jet wash and the line around the level of the pool water needs a good scrub.

Lovely hotel, we were upgraded to the Shearwater with a hot tub ! Beautiful views over the coast. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good, freshly cooked and delicious. Our waiter was friendly & efficient. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic hotel, with a superb location overlooking the Atlantic. Everywhere is clean, the food quality is excellent and the bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped. The hotel’s Vista room, apart from having spectacular views from all tables, has some great quirky memorabilia, including two seat compartments from an old fairground waltzer. Personally, I also love the Chopper bike on the wall! The Afternoon Tea is probably the best we’ve ever had - generous and an excellent selection. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended.

A bit disappointed with this hotel, being privileged to live in Cornwall the wow factor of the restaurant overlooking the sea is a scene that is widely available from many hotels & restaurants within the county, a beautiful view undoubtedly. A new owner has purchased within past couple of years & I understand work is being carried out. The bedroom was functioning & comfortable bed but nothing luxury hotel..the bath had chipped enamel in areas and rusted, the window sill area paint flaking everywhere. Dressing gowns provided but the size large was a size uk 10, local coffee & tea provided, no water. The Vista restaurant served an array of items, pizza’s sandwiches, afternoon & cream teas, but on sunny day the last thing you want to do is sit at the glass fronted tables area whilst cream & chocolate cake melt and collapse into heaps.. the cream tea arrived 10mins before drinks arrived, staff where a little unorganised again the same at breakfast, no plates at self service selections, missing cups, had to ask for empty goods to be replaced, disappointed with care & attention, no tongs or servers for pastries/crossiants, empty yoghurt & fruit compote. Dinner reasonable. Some interesting decor, old fairground carts & juke box, a real mix of decor, feature lampshades filthy and ripped… and the wooden floors dirty Pool could be booked for an half hour slot only, and the hot tub fits a max of 4, so if others in your time slot which there were numerous then lucky if you can use…

Absolutely fabulous stay, clean and tidy. Staff go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as they can and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Could do with another dog poo bin though

Excellent location, although extremely weather dependent. We had the misfortune of heavy rain for the majority of our stay. Booking in process was efficiently managed. Room was very clean and well equipped. Other areas however showing signs of wear. Food and bar service was slow and lacked organisation giving rise to unnecessary delay. For the cost this was disappointing.

The hotel had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Walking through the entance the view is striking with stairs down to a panoramic bar and lounge area. Our sea view room was completely uninterrupted with a superking comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom with a good shower. Food was good and reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here again

Really friendly and welcoming check in for our two night stay. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the terrace with a wonderful sea view and had everything we needed. It was spacious, clean and quiet with a comfy bed and plenty of room for our belongings. We ate in The Vista Lounge and enjoyed the most fabulous, extremely tasty meal whilst taking in the beautiful sea view and gorgeous sunset. We were not hurried along to leave and stayed a while longer for some after dinner drinks. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay particularly the outdoor swimming pool, which was warm, clean and very inviting. Two slight negatives from us would be (a) our tea, coffee & milk supplies were not replenished as we were told they would be, so we had no milk for our morning cuppa when we woke up and (b) we love dogs, but there were several in The Vista while we were eating our meal. Not usually an issue, but at one point they all started barking at each other which in the open space was very loud and it echoed a lot. We totally understand why people would want to take their dogs away with them, but it’s questionable whether they should be allowed in indoor areas where guests are eating. In summary, a very well appointed hotel in a fabulous cliff top location that (as we only live 45 minutes away) we would definitely stay in again.

Beautiful location but the spa is not great outdoor swimming pool is ok and indoor pool was ok aswell not to small lots of stairs to the rooms and no air conditioning what so ever room was roasting hot even with windows open but the location is amazing would go again but use a different hotel

Was a fabulous trip. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Love the decor in the hotel. We had a seaview room, amazing view. My only concern was the net curtain in the bathroom covering the window. It was very easy for me to see through, so i assume it would be easy to see in. So with that in mind, there was no privacy in the bathroom. We were above the bar area outdoor tables so it felt a worry. But other than that, the room was a delight. So 5 star apart from that 1 thing.

Easy to locate, nice view across the water, great walking area. Hotel room was a bit small for my liking, bathroom was compact. Breakfast was good.

Paid for a front facing view and had a window next to the patio area woth umbrellas in the way and people ourside chatting until late. With weddings taking place this needs to be taken into account for people not attending. Amazing place to stay but let down by the non view which we paid for.

Stayed one night in a sea view room... good sized room with comfortable bed, bathroom with bath and shower with toiletries provided. Had an excellent afternoon tea with prosecco, evening meal and breakfast... food was great, well presented and tasty. Hotel is dog friendly and a doggy bag was provided containing bowls for food/water , a blanket and a packet of treats.... staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We found the majority of items on the drinks/food menus to be very good value. Excellent stay and would definitely visit again....

Our first stay here and hope to return some time. Very reasonably priced. Great room and comfortable bed. Staff very helpful and friendly with nothing too much trouble. No pets and we didn’t use the pool or spa as we’re in our 70s and were keener to go out and take advantage of the gorgeous weather and beautiful countryside and beaches!

Loved the character of the place and also seeing that dogs are welcome😃All dogs we saw were very well behaved and staff were super friendly 😊

Breakfast staff on two days of my four night stay, were a little unwelcoming, querying whether I was on the list, or arriving at the correct time. Otherwise a very nice stay.

Fantastic hotel with some of the most stunning views of the Lizard coastline. Only minor criticism is the staff throughout the property lacked a smile. That said, the food and bar selection was great, the vista is breathtaking and the walks surrounding the hotel are outstanding - would visit again!

From checking in to checking out this has been a really great stay. All the staff have been polite, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, light and airy with a fantastic view. A very comfy bed for a good nights sleep. Even though we didn’t dine in the restaurant the food we saw coming out looked fantastic and would plan to dine in next time. Breakfast was great with plenty for all to enjoy from continental to the full English and even vegan full breakfast. There are also some very scenic walks from the hotel and a beautiful garden to wander or sit in. Certainly worth a visit.

Long wait to take breakfast orders. Light outside front door on during the day, off at night when you need it. Lights at front gate have glass hanging out. Stunning location, fabulous sea view room, beautiful decor throughout hotel and picturesque views of sea from both bar area and restaurant, fabulous walks, staff friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend this hotel.

The view around the area is amazing! It also has a walkway to the beach.

It was a perfect location

It was lovely to be right on the South West coast path from the hotel door. The staff are really friendly. The food was well cooked and the menu included pizzas. We used the leisure centre but unfortunately not the outdoor pool as the weather was awful. We will stay here again when we're in the area.

We were hiking the SW Coast path and this hotel is right on the path. The room was reasonably priced with breakfast in the area. The views were fantastic and it was a great place to stay.

I will keep this simple. Beautiful, clean hotel in a perfect location, we will definitely be back. However next time we will not be paying extra for an evening meal. I hate to say this but the food is truly awful. Come stay its truly stunning, just eat out!

Great location next to the Coast Path and with lovely views from the restaurant and terrace. Room comfortable clean and well appointed. Staff very helpful but catering a bit chaotic at breakfast and in the evening. Accommodation good value, but drinks expensive.

Beautiful hotel with super friendly staff. The facilities were fab and the breakfast and dinner was amazing. We had the lamb on the evening menu and the breakfast was varied and tasty
