Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Smithfield/Selma by IHG

The stay was very good with the exception of parking due to many construction trucks taking multiple spaces.

This property was very clean, and the rooms were nicely updated and very clean as well! The staff were friendly and the pool area was well-kept and clean. I do wish the indoor pool was heated, the water was cold. There is one ice machine on the main floor, it would have been nice to have one on each floor to make it more easily accessible. The breakfast was okay.

We stayed overnight on our way back home from Disney. The bed felt like a dream and the breakfast was wonderful (actually better then the SC location. They had lots of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate!) However, the parking lot was small and tight. Finding a spot was difficult and there was a street light that was broken and flashing. What really tanks my review is the paper thin walls! You can hear others TV's you can hear everyone's conversations. I could not believe a hotel was set up this way. So, as we were exhausted we had to listen to all of that. Our fan finally kicked in and drowned the noise out enough to sleep. For that reason we won't be staying here again. It's unfortunate because the bed and breakfast was good!

Stay was good. They're renovating, it is going to be great when finished. Breakfast was good, attendant did an amazing job. Dee (front desk) was the highlight of the stay, very nice and welcoming.

Easy check in. Nice rooms. Kids loved the pool. Breakfast was great compared to most hotels and was very helpful as well as the front desk staff

I reserved this hotel, since there was a GYM there, but as it turned out, the air conditioner did not work there, it was 82 degrees in there, we asked the staff at the reception to help us fix the situation, to which they said they did not know how to fix it. as a result, we were very disappointed with this, since the GYM is one of their important advantages, which is why we chose this hotel to stay on the freeway and stretch a little.

They need new vending machines and an ice machine on each floor, the need to have an extra blanket in the room for the sofa bed. Breakfast was good I always stay at Holiday Inn express but this one just needs a renovations

We stayed here overnight with a family of 5. The property was well taken care of and clean. Pool was warm and area was nice.

The breakfast didn't start until 7. As a traveler we like to be back on the road by 7. The coffee was ready but no lights on to see it. Also boxes everywhere unable to use ice machine on our floor because boxes were blocking it. Receptionist was great, efficient and friendly.

Beds were super comfy!! Staff was nice , when I asked for nearby recommendations she said to use Google lol ! Not in a mean way but I thought that was funny! Toilet water pressure was super low. Gym has 3 machines and some weights. Easy parking , slow elevators, and I could hear the person/kid upstairs walking/running back & forth as if I was in an apartment building. I’d stay again.

Bed bugs. Awakened in the evening to find bed bugs in the bed we were occupying. numerous amount, we felt it was necessary to check out of hotel it was 12 am midnight We attempted to contact the General Manager Kelly Pope as instructed by hotel staff for 3 days. Staff kept saying she wasn't in, finally we contacted IHG corporate office. Kelly Pope did contact us via email a day later stating no bed bugs were found when she insepected room the later in the morning after we left, we were told she wasn't in that day. Fortunately I had taken photos of the bed bugs on several areas of bedding along with bed bug bites on our person. General Manager is very bad at handling an unfortunate situation. I will never again stay at an IHG nor would I recommend due to my experience with managment and bed bugs.

We stayed there for one night in the middle of our road trip. The room is spacious and very clean. The breakfast is great. Free parking is very easy.

Clean and super quiet

This place was dirty. Brown stains on mattress. Dirty sheets. Dirty toilet. We left right after checking in and they refused to refund our money. Talk about highway robbery!

Check-in took forever. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working and the bathroom dirty.

The interior/exterior were dirty. Guests being too loud.

The cleaner did not clean anything. There was chips crushed all over the floor, a clearly dirty towel folded on the bath like it was clean and pizza in the ac unit. It smelled horribly like freeze I doubt they even changed the sheets when the last guest checked out. We were told there was nothing they could do at the time and wouldn’t allow us to use their vacuum and cleaner because it was against policy. We ended up just leaving and having to find a new hotel to stay. We had this room booked so they knew we were coming. We will never stay there again.

The sheets and comforter had stains in multiple spots. The hallway and stairwell smelled like someone smoking weed.

Dirty washcloth was left in shower!

It is 1:30 in the morning. We woke up because we are freezing. It is 27 degrees outside and the heater is not working. We called the front desk. They say they are totally full and there is no one here to check the heater. It was not working when we got here. The girl at the front desk told us it was frozen but she could make it come on. When we got back to the room it had come on. It was in the 40s then but now it says it is 75 in here but the heater is not running.

Beds were comfortable. Even though the lot was full so it appeared that the hotel was busy, we did not hear noise from other rooms. We did have to turn off the AC unit because it was so noisy that we couldn't go to sleep. I did report that at checkout. The toilet paper roll placement under the counter in the bathroom was ridiculous. 3 of the 4 adults could not stretch far enough to reach it when it was needed from the seated on the toilet position." A free-standing toilet paper roll holder would be more appropriate! I did make a comment about that at checkout.

Very very clean, renovated rooms, big rooms with new lights and furniture. Comfortable bed. Coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. Thin walls though I could hear the people in the room next to us. Breakfast was impeccable, very well put together food variety. Very clean and sanitary. They even had their breads saran wrapped so everyone is not touching all the bread sitting out and no bugs are flying on it.

Outside was very good. Rooms had outdated furniture. Beds were hard. Pillows were worn.

The bed was a little lumpy, noisy until after 11 PM

I had two rooms they were both really nice! My issue was the tv in one room didn’t work. It looked as if someone snatched the cord out the back and we couldn’t watch it. The receptionist was no help and very nonchalant about the whole ordeal. She said she would send someone up, they never came. When asked about it she stated everyone left for the night. So no tv the entire stay in that room. The second room had no tv guide. I have kids under the age of five so with an outdated remote I tried my best to find cartoons. This made our stay a little difficult.

The girl at the desk wasn’t overly friendly. She gave us the key to our room and when we went up there, it was already occupied. We went back down and she put us in another room, but never even spoke or said she was sorry. Not a big deal but a bit more friendliness would go a long way. The room and beds were nice, the water pressure was almost nonexistent though. Breakfast was OK I would probably not stay here again since there are other choices in the area.

Convenient location though its very difficult to find with all of the road construction. Rude night staff. Comfortable clean rooms with an excellent breakfast. Great value and location for travelers on I95. Need some hospitality training for front desk staff that's all.

We 4 people staying and only 2 bath towel provided. When called the desk, they asked to come down and take the towels. My son went down to front desk and came back, I found they gave him face wash towels seriously !!! When I called back again, the lady said they don't have bath towels. I explained her again that we are 4 people and how does she expect me to use 2 towels between 4? she said we don't have it. This was a terrific moment for me to hear from big brand like Holliday Inn that they seriously don't have bath towels ? I seriously got upset and asked them what kind of Hotel is this who don't have enough towels for customers. She then said, I will get it from different room, can you come down and take it. This pissed me off... I told, how many times do you want customer to come down to pick up the towels, can't you send somebody to the room. She said we don't have anyone to bring it to your room. So pathetic customer service by this Holiday Inn staff. I was really upset and hung up the phone. After like 5-8min some cleaning staff knocked the door and gave 4 bath towels. Finally !! Breakfast was another disaster, they had cereals but no milk, only one set of salt & pepper sprinkler, grab&go bags missing and pancake machine ran out of pancake mix. By the time the cook replaced pancake mix bag into the machine, we were done with our breakfast and almost walked out of that area. This Holiday Inn hotel seriously needs to focus on its hospitality and customer service.

Worst check in ever! Front desk woman was so rude! They had canceled the reservation and there were no rooms for the night! I had to drive 2 hours back home and get up super early to drive 2 hours back to the area the next morning! I have NEVER had this issue in my life!

Check. In was easy, the front desk host ( she had her right arm in purple cast) went above and beyond helping make our stay great, she came to the room and fixed the TV, also provided plates and napkins for our take out dinner that the restaurant forgot! Don't remember her name but she was very personable and really made our stay great!!

Good place for an overnight stay when traveling off of I-95

Nice location right off the highway and near places to get food. Clean, spacious room. Good breakfast. The best part was they actually had my brand new missing sunglasses and were able to ship them to me in Canada so I greatly appreciate that very much!

I haved stayed here multiple times. Greats service, beds are comfortable. Continental is good and plenty of places to go out and eat. And its closed to outlet mall.

Rooms are clean, good for a family of four with two queen beds that are comfortable although the pillows are too soft. there is free wifi and the morning breakfast was excellent. The price is slightly higher than other hotels in the area but worth it.
