ibis Sydney World Square

Loved my room in this little hotel.All it needed to be. And yes one of the lifts wasn't working but only ever had to wait a couple of minutes and I stayed five days.

Good value and friendly staff. Room was clean and just enough to open suitcase. Huge problem was elevators. They have 16F but only 2 elevators and shared with staff service. The worst thing was only one elevator available due to construction. And room clean staff, hotel front staff, construction staff, everyone is using same one elevator with guests. As result it will take 5-10min to get into elevator. They should build or find solution for other access way for staff and elevator should be left for guest alone. Room cleaner should not use elevator in this occasion at 7-10am when people going out and checking out.

Great location next to World Square. One lift was being upgraded but didn’t make a noticeable difference. Desk in the room was interestingly lopsided but otherwise lovely clean rooms with great friendly staff. Wish I had the time to try the breakfast. Definitely next time!

The staff were quick and efficient. Despite one of the elevators being under construction, we barely needed to wait long for the elevator to come.

What you see on the internet is distorted from real size of room. Air conditioning is central controlled and room control pad for temperature wasnt working. Unfortunately only one lift for 17 floors.

Room was adequate but not nearly as spacious as pics would lead you to believe. Would have liked to have known in advance that the lift repairs would be such an inconvenience. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful at all times.

Only one lift was working, so people had to wait several minutes at certain times of the day. Otherwise everything else was fantastic.

Room was extremely basic, bathroom was smelly as had no fan so smelt damp constantly, floors didn’t look vacuumed even when we arrived or any day we were there. For the price and location it was good with supermarket and restaurants close by!

Absolutely disgraceful. This was our second time staying at Ibis World Square. Never again. The room reeked of mould. The window could not be opened. The air conditioner did not help. In fact, when we checked inside the unit, it was full of dust (and probably more mould). I doubt it has ever been cleaned. These mouldy rooms are a serious health hazard and should be bordered up until they have been decontaminated.

Bathroom was clean and staff were polite, however the room was so dusty that it caused breathing difficulty, sneezing and we couldn’t sleep

The property is pretty old but it was expected. Room size is decent and cleanliness was acceptable. The location is excellent as expected.

Good location but room cleanliness should be improved. Coffee cup in room has red lipstick on it, dust on air conditioner, lack of maintenance and breakfast room is dirty. Coffee machine, plates, glasses are disgusting. Is this a world class hotel in all accor group?

Room was spotless, staff was very courteous, daily cleaning was great, location was excellent, price was perfect - everything was great about this hotel!

Family friendly, good location, great staff and clean room.

There was loud nightclub/pub music until around midnight Thu, Fri and Sat night. Very hard to try and sleep with this and would highly recommend ear plugs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast was great, room was clean and comfortable but a bit small if staying more than a few days, only problem was we could hear noise from the room next door, great location.

wifi internet is really sketchy and drops out which is super infuriating. AC mode cannot be changed by the visitor. AC is really loud. No desk space on which to work or use a laptop just a tiny gap between fridge and bench. Was cheap but maybe too cheap.

Very convenient location small room but very clean and got everything we needed

I can hear the next room occupants talking and singing until 330 am in the morning. Rooms have no soundproofing in my opinion.

- noisy mid week music playing loudly past 1am - blinds don’t block out any light - room was stuffy even with aircon on made it impossible to sleep - Bed wasn’t made properly had to remake - Don’t have an aircon in the room if you can’t adjust the temperature, all you can do is turn it on or off. I shouldn’t have to ask reception to change the temperature in the middle of the night

Nice location but you get what you pay for. Unfotunately it is not very sound proof. Kept up bothe nights due to road noise and espeically loud bass music on the Saturday night from a nearby bar, and yet i was up on one of the top floors!! Also they seem to lock the air con/heat control panels (unless it was just my room malfunctioning) but temprature was set and had to ask to get it changed . Even then it was still cold in the middle of the night due to low airflow. Unfortunately will not stay here again

Noisy! If you want a good night's sleep. Forget about this place. This is not the place for you! Walls are thin (you can hear every movement and creak in the neighbouring rooms) and the hotel is in the midst of the hustle, bustle, active vibe of surrounding pubs, restaurants, bars etc. Very worn (repairs and replacements required) Gosh did the room need some attention! The bathroom door handle struggled to turn, so very difficult to access and close the door. Especially when trying to do the right thing by the hotel and following their safety instructions by closing the door properly when showering to prevent the steam setting off whatever safety measure in place, or face and up to 10k fine! Shower door also could not close properly and closest to closed it could get was ajar, thus having water drip out of the shower. Lacking check-in service Albeit I turned up a bit past midnight. When I rocked up, there was no staff to be seen. Understandable, it's late, I'm not expecting a red carpet, maybe they're in the back and monitoring the security cameras, or maybe I need to ring a bell to get their attention? None of the above. No person in sight, no staff popping out to eagerly welcome me and ensure a smooth check in after standing there for a min or so. With no bell in sight, no info at reception, I was left to loudly ask if someone was around, to which immediately a man popped out. No apologies, no warm greeting, just scurrying to the reception to ask me how he could help.

Clean and tidy however just a few small things - the reception never followed up with me on something I asked for in fixing the tv. The breakfast is ok. The room is ok but can change the temperature which sucks.

Overall a good stay with really good stay. A convenient location to many locations and great amenities. The front desk staff as a whole was welcoming and friendly for most of my stay but when I asked them one question there was conflicting information provided by the two staff working at the desk which was confusing.

This hotel is close to Central Station or Museum station. Walking is not to far from shopping distric and George St where you can catch tram to circular quay. Lots of options for dining as lots of restaurant nearby. Chinatown only one block away. Love the location and walkable to shops. Recomended for prople who wants to stay just for few days and explore Sydney CBD.

Close to all the attractions of Sydney and easy walking to Darling Harbour. Close to train - making it easy to go to and from the Airport - only takes 15 minutes. Lots of different restaurants around. The Ibis also has a small bar in the lobby, nice to come back and have a glass of wine and a snack. Will stay here again next time.

Room is clean, very good location to walk around town even if you don’t wanna take a public transportation.

Great breakfast. Easy walking distance from central station. Staff were very helpful and great with the kids.

The breakfast, the food was cold as no lids to keep the food warm. The ham was yellow I watched the ham and it did not change for 3 days. also the oranges had mould on them, I mentioned to the staff about the mould and he could not understand me. Shower door could not open wide enough to get into the shower easy and I am not a big person.

Ruime kamer, goed bed, schoonmaak OK. Ook receptie is prima, speciaal Victoria en Giada. Uitstekende ligging, tram en bus dichtbij, ook veel winkels en restaurants. Maar internet is traag. Ook weinig internationale tv zenders, geen VS of Europese zenders. Ontbijt matig, beperkt en geen variatie, alle dagen hetzelfde...

Staff where very helpful. Room was clean and tidy. My 1st breakfast was very good. However the next two where not so good.

Breakfast was poor. Cold, limited selection, crowded room We only ate there once. Room was too hot, but reception was able to reset the temperature, however the air conditioner, stayed on all night, and was noisy and disturbed our sleep, both nights. Staff at reception were very helpful.

The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is always served hot and freshly cooked. So many places to shop and dine you can’t go wrong.

Overall was happy with the stay. Clean and spacious room. Pre ordered breakfast and went just after they opened at 6.30am, unfortunately not all food was available at the time and the look of some of the food wasn’t ideal. Would probably avoid breakfast here.

This hotel Ibis was good if you’re on a budget for 1 night . Breakfast buffet was pretty terrible.Our beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.
