The room was very warm. 24 degrees on the thermostat. Had someone come up and they said it couldn't be changed. He brought us a fan to use. Also, there was no hot water for a shower at 6:00 am. Pool was nice and warm but the hot tub was under repair and apparently has been for quite some time. Asked the front desk when it would be open and they said it could be another year or more. They should update their website to let potential guest know. Beware of parking $$. $70/night is high even for Vancouver standards! Overall our stay was pleasant but for a frequent guest at Fairmont hotels over the years, we were expecting more.

The room was very small. There were stains on the carpet, the bathroom was incredibly small, and the pool area was terrible. It was under construction and the pool lining was not finished. It was like a loose plastic wrap. Really disappointed for the price in comparison to better hotels. Worst fairmont I’ve been to. I did my research beforehand and found it misleading. The website says that the pool had been renovated. This is misleading and disappointing for my family. We could have stayed at the Sutton place, pan pacific or fairmont waterfront for similar money. I would have complained at check out but the line up was so long. How will you address this?

The hotel was located near all the things we planned to do in BC. It was a very nice hotel with several higher end amenities. There was high end shopping on the main floor and just across the street, their soaps, shampoo & conditioner, lotions were a nice scent and good quality, wine and snacks available for purchase in the room, robes and slippers, beds were comfortable and nice, staff was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of dining nearby. We didn’t try the hotel restaurant. We used the valet and it was quick and the valet’s were courteous and professional. We asked for a mini fridge to help store our leftovers because the one in the room was weighted with purchasable items. They gave us one no problem. Pool and sauna were under construction but pool was still usable. The hotel gym had several amenities and was rather large. Overall we were happy with our stay and would stay here again.

Hotel location was great. Staff was super friendly, rooms were spotless. My disappointment was the sauna and hot tub were not operational. I booked this property based on what was listed as available. I could have booked a different property on vrbo had i known the hotel was under construction at the time.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great area of downtown. The rooms are large and comfortable. The pool area is a little dated and accessed via the gym. The only bar/restaurant is rather aloof… we needed to book for breakfast and the bar was equally unwelcoming without the ability to wander in and have a drink and relax.

Unfortunately there was no hot tub even though it was on the webaite. The dry sauna closed at 11pm but the temperature is lowered at 10pm.

We stayed in a pet friendly room. You could tell it had not been used in a while as there was dust on all the surfaces. The carpet was pretty rough with stains and small tears. We tried to order room service on our arrival but couldn’t get the restaurant or front desk to answer the phone. After bringing this up to the front desk on morning of check out, she gave us a free breakfast in our room, and offered an upgrade for our next stay. So in general, room, not great, but not bad. The customer service and response was very good.

The hotel itself is beautiful and in a perfect location. But the room itself was definitely lacking. The ceiling vent right as you walk in was missing a screw and was hanging from the ceiling. One of the towels in the bathroom was covered in someone else’s hair- it looked like the previous guest shaved their body hair and/or beard over this towel then shook it out, folded it up, and put it away. The location was great, but for the price, there are a ton of other options I’d look into before booking here again.

The cleaning staff were amazing! Room was immaculate and items replenished daily. (Garbage/recycling removed, clean glasse, general tidy/turn down service) LOVED the house retrievers (Ella and Elly) at one reception area. Check in and check out was excellent and the room service was next level. Overall, we had a great trip to Vancouver and Fairmont was a big part of it.

The pool is in very poor condition and definitely needs maintenance. Our room had a thick layer of dust that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in quite some time, which was disappointing. On the positive side, breakfast was very good fresh and well prepared and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. With some updates and better housekeeping, this place could be much nicer.

The location is great, but for such a renowned property, you would think all loose ends would be tied up and cleaned. There were blood stains beside the bed, scuffs along the wall, and the bathtub was wearing away. The staff were insanely kind, and the location amazing, but I have stayed in many Fairmont across the country and this was my least favourite so far sadly. Not my usual fairmont experience.

The room is not a room of a 5 star hotel. Very old, damaged and outdated furniture. Non functional design. For example, night stand tables are not available on both sides of the bed. Where should I put my glasses or books if I sleep on the side of the bed without a night stand? Bathroom is also very outdated. Bathtub is damaged, giving a very bad impression, not 5 star level at all. Room service calls took more than 5 min to answer the phone, a sigh of under staffing. In general not a good experience, not a 5-star experience for sure.

All very nice, room very comfortable. However, the Bathroom was the size of a shoebox, no bath, small shower, no place to put toiletries or cosmetics, the toilet was so tightly fitted between the washbasin and the wall that the toilet roll fell off onto the floor if a person sat down! The bathroom was a BIG flaw, not expected in an expensive Gold Signature room.

I would give them 5, but the room temp are HOT and thermostat are crap! It was so hot and hard to sleep. We finally complained and got the maintenance guy to “try” to fix. Apparently, it’s the hotel central heating and they don’t work very well. He opened the window. It was the ONLY way to cool down the room. Crazy! Checking in was bad and long line. Not very coordinated or executions of check in. Staff on 9th floor was very good.

The staff, location and cleanliness of the hotel was amazing! It is a beautiful property with great shopping within the hotel and across the street. Being an older building, we did find that sounds of doors closing and people talking (in hallways and adjacent rooms) carried through the halls and walls. Not overwhelming, but they were there. I would highly recommend the property though, it was an excellent stay enjoyed by the whole family!

What a fabulous, historic hotel! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay here. From the moment we arrived we were treated as honored guests -- everyone, from the doorman to the concierge, were welcoming and professional. Our suite on the gold floor was beautifully appointed and very comfortable, with almost any amenity we could have requested. The bed was very comfy and we greatly appreciated having a sitting area in the evening where we could unwind. Speaking of unwinding, the food in the executive lounge is over the top -- Abundant, varied, and so tasty! Plenty of drink choices as well as food options, and the pastries are not to be missed! It was certainly a grand experience. Unfortunately, there was one downside to our time at the hotel -- nothing warned us that quite a few rooms have NO air conditioning! It got a bit warm on the 9th floor, but at least we could open the windows to help keep the room cool. Ultimately, we would stay here again, but would check to be sure we booked a room with AC.

A number of issues starting from check-in were outside the expected standard of Fairmont hotels. Some staff were aloof and rude (ie. the Bell) , others were extremely helpful and went above and beyond our expectations (esp. one of the hotel’s engineers, Ethon - spectacular service from this gentleman). The managers we dealt with were excellent and resolved all issues - but the point is, for the standard Fairmont hotels advertise, the issues we experienced should not have occurred.

The staff were very attentive. The concierge helped with restaurant bookings and directions on how best to navigate the city. The dogs that “ live” at the concierge desk made the hotel even more special The hotel was decorated for Christmas and looked beautiful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only criticism I have is that the toilet did not flush properly and the bathtub looked old. All in all I would definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It was so nice staying in a historic hotel that has been thoughtfully updated. Shopping, restaurants, Canada Place, and the cruise port were just a short walk from this hotel.

The Fairmont never fails to disappoint! The rooms are large, bright and clean. The staff at the front desk, in the restaurant and in the bar could not be nicer. The locataion is perfect as one can walk everywhere from this central location. It's our favorite hotel in Vancouver!

High end experience. Love that when you check in early, they will store your luggage and give you a room card and then text you when the room is ready. The luggage will be waiting for you in the room. Best eggs benny and hollandaise sauce.

Our breakfast was cold when received and the server as very impatient with us. We had the room facing the art museum which had protestor events all day both days on the weekend. Super loud so we couldn’t open our window.
