Ideal night away. Conveniently located for visit to Miller & Carter. Great pool and spa facilities, good bar and seating area. Excellent buffet breakfast and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Good location for our needs. Electric charging points were available and most seemed to be working from what I could see - easy to set-up and use too. Rooms were a good size and the bathroom amenities were very good (shower-gel/shampoo/etc.). Breakfast was good value. Decent pint of Guinness served at the bar (I was only having one but treated myself to a second before bed!).

The room and staff were great. Whilst the pool is 15m long a third is up to knee hight. This is a playing pool more than a swimming pool. I had chosen the hotel as it had a swimming pool hence was disappointed.

We were informed at the desk on arrival that the pool was out of order. This was a big blow for us as we had factored in some family time in the pool and we chose the hotel for this facility. I was shocked to have been informed about this prior to the stay or offered any alternative/compensation. Also the service in the restaurant at the evening meal was terrible. We went without any waiting staff at one point for about 20/30 minutes when we were keen to get another drink and order dessert. We ate out on the second night because of this. We were not able to use the indoor pool as they introduced a rule of booking the pool for 30 minutes at "Health Centre Desk". There was no staff available to take the bookings and when became available there was no booking left for the pool through out the 3 days of our stay. Breakfast time was horrible, long queues, waiting for ages and miss management. The manager was quite dismissive of everything and was confrontational when complained. Terrible experience. Never again!

Great value property with easy access to A1. The pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room were fabulous. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was clean and modern. Highly recommend if you have a car as it is much better value than hotels in the city or with Metro access.

Lovely modern and clean hotel outside the centre of Newcastle but conveniently just off the A1. Much cheaper than city centre hotels and free secure parking. Lovely smell in the reception and helpful staff. The room was spacious and clean wit 2 very comfortable king beds, tea/coffee making, bath and toiletries. Our room looked out over countryside so even better. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Despite a short stay, staff was really friendly at every opportunity. The hotel is a standard Holiday Inn and fills the need for a night stay. Bathroom was cleaned but a ladies shaver was left in the room and a couple hair to be found, but that didn't really affect my stay.

Great hotel for a one night stay. Staff were all lovely and helpful. Leisure facilities were great. Good food at both dinner and breakfast. Hotels seems to have been recently refurbished and rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean.

The hotel was very clean and modern both in our room and the main part of the hotel. We only had breakfast but must say the choice and quality was superb. Finally all the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone.

Stopover on our way south. Arrived 02.00 tired after drive down from the AC/DC concert in Edinburgh. Probably the shortest stay we’ve ever had in a hotel. Have stayed here before. Easy location just off A1. Very clean room and friendly staff at breakfast.

The room was clean and a good size. Staff engagement was excellent. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was clean and well attended. There had obviously been some sort of leak on our floor, as there were ceiling tiles missing and buckets placed around the hallways. The level smelt musty, so I'm guessing it was still drying. The room was a connecting one and there was very little soundproofing. We didn't get back in till late and realised that the bed had a piece of hardboard underneath the mattress that ran from the foot of the bed up to just around half way. Consequently, when you lay down, your head and shoulders were lower than the rest of your body. To be fair, we didn't raise it with staff, as it was so late. I slept ok, but my partner struggled to sleep on it.

An excellent hotel within easy reach of main roads, although road noise isn’t obvious once you’re inside. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly and everything was spotlessly clean. Would recommend, and would definitely stay again.

We stayed here recently and overall had a decent experience. On the plus side, the air conditioning worked well, which was a relief, and the location is really convenient with loads of parking. The on-site bar was a nice bonus, and while the room wasn’t anything fancy, it was clean enough. That said, the place does feel quite dated — the room decor definitely had a bit of a 70s vibe. The bathrooms seem more modern but are quite small, and I could see them being tricky if you had mobility issues. The shower design wasn’t great either and tended to soak the floor unless you were careful. The biggest disappointment, though, was the breakfast. For the price, it just wasn’t worth it. All in all, fine for a short stay if you value location and convenience, but a few things let it down.

Very nice and clean hotel. Only issue was my room. There must have been a boiler room behind 150 as there was a constant noise through the night that sounded like someone was constantly running a bath. It’s a shame as rest of hotel was lovely but my sleep was awful

The room was very quiet in relation to road noise - couldn’t hear any. However, as is common with most chain hotels, you could hear other guests’ comings and goings. The bed was super comfortable. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Though a word of caution regarding the shower over the bath. It is a big climb into the shower/bath and whilst there are “stability” handles in the shower, this may not be suitable for people who may be unsteady on their feet. Overall, comfortable and good value for money.

The was an incident the ruined my trip where two parents started shouting aggressively at each other the pool. And scared my autistic son so I had to leave. I told the hostess about it and he didn't seem to care at all. He stated these sort of things happen all the time. So parents please be aware. I also booked a room in advance with a mini fridge and didn't get a room with the fridge. It was disappointing and frustrating.

Reception lady was very nice and helpful. She told me about the shared taxi being organised to go to the city for the GNR. Very useful and removed a massive stress. Room very comfortable. Breakfast bar was nice for pre-race.

We only had a short stay after flying back into the country in the early hours but the location was fantastic for the airport, the rooms were very clean and it was a wonderful quiet spot. The real mark of excellence though was the brilliant and friendly staff. They were just genuinely great, friendly people and it made all the difference. The complimentary drinks when we were leaving was just the icing on the cake and a lift for a very tired family facing a six hour drive home. Thank you so much for the amazing service, I would happily recommend to anyone.

Fantastic hotel and highly recommend, with very freindly helpful staff fom checking to checking out. Hotel and room whete immaculately clean and we enjoyed a evening meal which was ok. Only downside its a bit far out from civilisation and limited public transport you have to rely on taxis and outways saving on hotel if you are wantung city center activities.

This is probably the best Holiday Inn we have stayed at. Comfortable room, friendly staff and good food. It is close to both the A1 and A19 but virtually no traffic noise. Walk through the nearby service area/filling station to the parallel road (A1068) and there are frequent and quick bus services (X9/X21/X22) to Newcastle City Centre. Highly recommended.

Hotel was good quality. Very clean rooms, everything we needed and very comfortable. Bar area very modern, relaxed and enjoyable. Enjoyed the pool. Breakfast buffet very plentiful, tasty and hot. All the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only niggle was the price of meals in the restaurant. The food was nice enough but the menu options were basic and we felt overpriced for what you got.

Great location, friendly welcome and clean, modern room. Only disappointment was the breakfast. We paid in advance and were looking forward to a full breakfast. Very busy (hotel must have known they had a bus trip and many other guests) No room in restaurant, so we were asked if we would take a table at reception/bar. Teas, toast and breakfast were cold by the time we’d taken them from restaurant to our table. No salt or pepper, so again, had to walk to kitchen to get these. Cold area to sit - every time the front door opened, a blast of cold air hit us. Kitchen didn’t seem to cope - no fried eggs for approx 20 mins. We would stay here again, but are definitely disappointed that we paid so much for an inferior breakfast.

Brilliant stay, staff were amazing from check in, they were busy at the restaurant but did fantastic, meal was so so good, the chefs pizza and the Thai mussels were out of this world, the pool, the stairs etc were spotless, couldn't fault a thing, great sleep in a super king bed, and a silent room, all 4 slept like logs
