This hotel is perfectly located for the Christmas market. This town is fantastic. The staff was unbelievably nice and very helpful. A couple of notes - 1 there is no elevator so be prepared to climb the steps with your bags. 2 - parking is not onsite. 3 - it is not easy to find this hotel due to very narrow roads and pedestrians. HOWEVER, once you are settled this place is awesome!

Gute Lage in der Altstadt. Altes Hotel, aber gut in Schuss. Wie überall in der Altstadt gibt es keine Parkplätze am Haus. Man kann aber in einem Parkhaus (5min zu Fuß) verbilligt parken. Frühstück ist ansprechend.

Quaint, older hotel right in the heart of the cathedral square. Great service. Room had a lot of space. Clean and comfortable. Solid breakfast included. No air conditioning, but a big fan and all of the windows opened to allow a lot of cool air. Some street noise later into the summer nights, which I liked. No lift. Had to port luggage up stairs. No PSD ports, so just use an adapter.

Wer die Altstadt zu Fuss erkunden möchte ist dort bestens aufgehoben. Leider gibt es keinen Aufzug, da ich auf der ersten Etage ein Zimmer hatte war es kein Problem. Das Pesonal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Falls ich nochmals nach Heidelberg reise werde ich dort gerne wieder einchecken.

It is within a two-minute walk of the Bergbahn to the castle and Bus 20 stop to/from the train station. American travelers be advised this is a fine place to stay if you are open to a comfortable, clean place to stay a night ot two.

Zentral gelegen, jedoch keine (wie versprochen) Parkmöglichkeit in einem benachbarten Parkhaus, sodass ich in einem 1,9 km entfernten Parkhaus zu den dort üblichen Gebühren parken musste. TV-Gerät funktionierte überhaupt nicht. Kein Lift vorhanden, obwohl Zimmer im 3. Stock Zimmer war ordentlich und ausreichend ausgestattet. Frühstück war reichlich. Treppenaufgang ist stark renovierungsbedürftig, Teppichbelag auf Stufen sieht schlimm aus. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist m.E. grenzwertig und nur durch die zentrale Lage zu rechtfertigen.

This is a "no--frills" but perfectly good hotel, situated very convenient for the Old Town and with a very good nearby bus service to/from the station. It could on occasion be a bit noisy outside, but the double glazing was effective at keeping that to a subdued level. It's one problem is that for a a four-storey building it doesn't have a lift! But the very friendly and helpful staff were willing to help getting luggage up and down. There was plenty of choice with unlimited quantities for breakfast. We'd certainly stay again.

The location was great, except it was on the corner of a busy restaurant and bar area, loud music and people all night, so not much sleep. The room was clean, except for a lot of stains on the carpeting. They need to start the breakfast earlier, most places start at 6:30 or 7:00. This place not until 8:00, we had an early flight so we missed out on breakfast. The Korean restaurant next door was good.

Spontan gebucht für eine Nacht, jederzeit wieder. Die Zimmer sind zwar schon in die Jahre gekommen, bieten jedoch alles was man benötigt. Es fehlte an nichts. Und das Zimmer war top sauber, was in moderneren Häusern nicht immer der Fall ist. Und der Service des Personals läßt selbst vier Sterne Häuser alt aussehen. Zuletzt vergleichbar erlebt im Hyatt Köln.

Insgesamt war das Hotel und auch das Zimmer sauber, das Zimmer kann aber eine kleine Renovierung gebrauchen. Die Lage des Hotels mitten in der Altstadt ist super! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Frühstück war in Ordnung, es gab Kaffee, Säfte, Joghurt und auch Früchte. Allen in Allem ein guter Aufenthalt.

This is a great location with friendly staff in the old town. It s in old town so it is an older building but the room was spacious and clean. Heidelberg is also a unversity town so expect to hear the students socializing in the later evening. We felt very safe when we were out.

Hotel Am Rathaus has old European charm which is to say small rooms, no elevators but great staff and breakfast. It was very noisy at night since Heidelberg is a university town and they like to party. Pretty much right outside the window. Parking is a quarter mile away and you have to drag luggage from there or nearest street access a block away. That would be over cobblestone too. The facility itself is charming and you can imagine Mark Twain staying there 150 years ago. Maybe during summer break.

I gave this hotel an average rating based on the location of the hotel and the wonderful staff members. We had a problem with our heat and someone addressed this immediately. The biggest down side is that there is no elevator. Thank heaven I had two strong able bodied children that could haul large bags up winding steps. They were not to happy. Please be prepared. A lot of things were outdated or could used to be fixed. These were small items and we were there only one night.

We loved our stay at the Hotel am Rathaus. The hotel is located right in the old city center, in the perfect location to explore the beautiful town. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We arrived before check-in, and we were able to store our suitcase while we went exploring the city. Good German breakfast in the morning. I wish I could have stayed longer. Will return!

The hotel is very conveniently located at the corner of the marketplace, the center of Heidelberg. It is also right next to the beautiful bridge that pedestrian could walk on and have a great view of the city and the castle. The staff is very friendly and professional and courteous. Our room has a nice size and many windows for natural breeze and air. It also includes the decent quality breakfast, which is very convenient. The only challenge is for the Uber driver to pick us up. We called an Uber to pick us up to the train station, it took the Uber driver a long time to find us. We had to cancel one order Uber driver prior because he couldn’t find us.

This is a great location with friendly staff in the old town. It s in old town so it is an older building but the room was spacious and clean. Heidelberg is also a unversity town so expect to hear the students socializing in the later evening. We felt very safe when we were out.

This hotel is perfectly located for the Christmas market. This town is fantastic. The staff was unbelievably nice and very helpful. A couple of notes - 1 there is no elevator so be prepared to climb the steps with your bags. 2 - parking is not onsite. 3 - it is not easy to find this hotel due to very narrow roads and pedestrians. HOWEVER, once you are settled this place is awesome!

Hotel Am Rathaus has old European charm which is to say small rooms, no elevators but great staff and breakfast. It was very noisy at night since Heidelberg is a university town and they like to party. Pretty much right outside the window. Parking is a quarter mile away and you have to drag luggage from there or nearest street access a block away. That would be over cobblestone too. The facility itself is charming and you can imagine Mark Twain staying there 150 years ago. Maybe during summer break.

The hotel is very conveniently located at the corner of the marketplace, the center of Heidelberg. It is also right next to the beautiful bridge that pedestrian could walk on and have a great view of the city and the castle. The staff is very friendly and professional and courteous. Our room has a nice size and many windows for natural breeze and air. It also includes the decent quality breakfast, which is very convenient. The only challenge is for the Uber driver to pick us up. We called an Uber to pick us up to the train station, it took the Uber driver a long time to find us. We had to cancel one order Uber driver prior because he couldn’t find us.

This hotel was perfectly located between the castle and the bridge, on the Marktplatz. The staff was wonderful, helping us to find the parking garages and restaurants. We would stay there again. Beautiful city!

This is a "no--frills" but perfectly good hotel, situated very convenient for the Old Town and with a very good nearby bus service to/from the station. It could on occasion be a bit noisy outside, but the double glazing was effective at keeping that to a subdued level. It's one problem is that for a a four-storey building it doesn't have a lift! But the very friendly and helpful staff were willing to help getting luggage up and down. There was plenty of choice with unlimited quantities for breakfast. We'd certainly stay again.

Quaint, older hotel right in the heart of the cathedral square. Great service. Room had a lot of space. Clean and comfortable. Solid breakfast included. No air conditioning, but a big fan and all of the windows opened to allow a lot of cool air. Some street noise later into the summer nights, which I liked. No lift. Had to port luggage up stairs. No PSD ports, so just use an adapter.

Insgesamt war das Hotel und auch das Zimmer sauber, das Zimmer kann aber eine kleine Renovierung gebrauchen. Die Lage des Hotels mitten in der Altstadt ist super! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Frühstück war in Ordnung, es gab Kaffee, Säfte, Joghurt und auch Früchte. Allen in Allem ein guter Aufenthalt.
