Holiday Inn Maidstone-Sevenoaks by IHG

Good hotel to stay in when on travels around the south of the UK. Near the motorway, but you don't hear that in the bedrooms. Food was good and free use of the swimming pool was appreciated. Note the car park isn't free for guests.

Checked in ok with friendly desk staff. Offered assistance with luggage as the room was up 2 fights of stairs (no lift). Massive bed in a pleasant room. We had breakfast both days. Breakfast was poor. Hash browns and black pudding were very overcooked, probably there since before it opened at 6.30. We had breakfast at 8.30. We booked this hotel because it had a swimming pool. But was met with a sign that said swimming pool closed until further notice, no explainatuon. So overall was not the experience we expected.

The spa was absolutely amazing and the staff were so kind and helpful Beds and pillows were great if you want a different stiffness of pillow they will change for you Food at bar was phenomenal and breakfast was plenty

A very convienient location. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The pool area needed a bit of updating though.

£20 parking for one night is the big downside

Good swimming and sauna facilities with a decent gym. Overall, a good stop over for ferry/Eurotunnel to continent.

Heating in room had failed and was reported to desk. Returned to room later to find a small plug in heater had been supplied. This heater was too small for the room leading to an uncomfortable night. Hotel also charges for parking which I have never known before at Holiday Inn locations I have stayed at. Back to the cheaper Premier Inn just down the road

Possibly the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in as an IHG member who stays on a regular basis. In need of refurbishment. Tired and dated but firstly our room 165 was in need of a major CLEAN and revamp. The bathroom plug was completely rusted and off putting , hence I didnt use the bath or shower. The shaving mirror was corroded, there was a considerable level of dust on the toilet roll holder. The bedroom carpet was old and strained. The staircase which led to the bedroom had numerous stains when we arrived and were still there the following day when we checked out the following day. The restuarant where we had breakfast also had cleanliness issues. I picked up at least 6 glasses for my orange juice without finding one that was clean! A lady called Charlotte was on duty and she was absolutely suberb at dealing with the problem. She is a tremendous asset to the Hotel. The pancake machine wasn't working and immediately she offered to have some made in the kitchen for me.

Large dead spider in the hallway, for the 3 days of my stay. Complimentary items not replenished. Shower useless.

Dirty room ,black mould on windows, wet running down the walls ,damp bedding ,damp carpet ,heating not working ,dirty tiles in Bath room , stains on the walls ,tear in the quilt cover ,

Room smelt like blue cheese. Room was freezing on arrival and could only put heating on for an hour at a time. Dated and in much need of a refurbish. Carpet stained, bathroom dirty and marked. Cheapest toilet roll ever! Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean but the pillows and duvet were old and smelly underneath so wasted really. Reception staff were polite and in general reception area smelt and looked clean and fresh. Down side please not you have to pay parking to stay in their hotel!! Overall steer clear

The room was clean, nicely made up and had good facilities provided for the stay. The downside was the cleanliness of the bathroom, not down to the cleaners but more needing an upgrade due to mouldy grout and rusty taps etc. The hotel in general was clean and had lovely facilities. The staff were very friendly and very helpful too, they make the hotel great!

Well maintained & clean property, some areas (rooms & hall walls) were tired & in need of a refresh but did not deter from a lovely stay. Great food at the hotel (even on restricted menu there was lots of choice), nice swimming pool & facilities. Room was very comfortable & quiet, staff were friendly & accommodating. The staff were brilliant and helpful. Our room left a lot to be desired. It was so shabby and outdated. There was dust everywhere and there were so many stains on the wall. If we were staying longer than 2 nights I definitely would have complained. We were in a family room of 2 double beds and a single sofa bed, the room was spacious but unfortunately the bathroom was so tiny, it just didn’t make sense. As above, the staff were helpful and kind and the breakfast was delicious. We made use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna but unfortunately we encountered so many plasters in the pool and the jacuzzi had yellow stains. I honestly felt sick seeing this. Will not be returning again.

Room smelled musty on arrival. Opened the window and it seemed ok.Discovered later (with wet feet!) that an area of the carpet was saturated. No idea why. Told reception on checkout.

Overall we liked the property. The service was friendly and helpful. Liz on the front desk was very helpful and even helped us with our luggage as my husband is disabled. The room was clean but the it was looking a bit tired and outdated.

We had a family room that was perfect for the five of us. But it wasn’t really clean. Peanuts behind the fridge, the bathroom needs some extra cleaning (descaling). Breakfast was really nice. Also a cup of tea to go is perfect. The swimming pool and gym are ok! Paid parking £6 a night. The road next to the hotel is quite loud. Keep your windows closed, that will help. The daily drive to London C was around 1,5 hours long. People at the swimming pool told us there is a trainstation nearby that takes you to London in 17 minutes.

From an incredibly friendly welcome the staff were wonderful throughout I must say. The room as a good size, clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable (and huge) and the air con worked really well. Excellent stay, would certainly recommend and stay there again.. 10/10

The property is run down and really needs refurbishing, although the room was as clean as it could be. The carpet was stained and damaged and the furniture well worn. We had strange sliding shutters at the window instead of curtains and when they were closed it felt a little like a prison cell! The bed was comfortable though and the room was quiet so we had a decent nights sleep. We only stayed one night after an event at Brands Hatch but wouldn't stay there again if in the area. Not worth the money paid.

The hotel seemed inviting and the staff seemed nice. When I arrived in my room the decor was tatty and the furniture was poor icluding the leather desk chair that was very worn and the marks on the walls and decor was poor. The swimming pool also felt run down with head rests in the jacuzzi also in poor discoloured condition. Making the place feel dirty. The rooms had been centrally operated bythe hotel with heating and it was freezing. I asked for a heater and I switched it on and left the room whilst the room heated up but room service then switched it off and the room was freezing. It was very disappointing and i finished my stay early by checking out the night before.

The room was in need of renovation. Tatty skirting boards and cracked washbasin. Lighting in the room was very dim.

The bedroom was larger than many we’ve had but the bathroom could do with modernising. Also the carpet on the corridor was looking very worn. Breakfast was slightly below average compared with other places we have stayed.

NO HOT WATER!! Rooms cold, very dated, no lifts and charge for parking. I’ve stayed in better Premier Inns!!

Our stay was only overnight, but everything was fine, room was large and clean, breakfast was superb, worthwhile find.

Basic rooms for a Holiday in, Expensive for what it is !! Not good view from the bedrooms, Not much to do around. Luckily we were only there for one night as we were playing in a Charity Golf ⛳️ day and the Golf course was only three miles away from the hotel. I booked 4 rooms. I called room service several times and no one ever picks up the phone and same with reception. I forgot to pack slippers, When I finally got through I was told they don’t have slippers or even the disposable ones !! When checking out there were few maintenance workers standing around the receptionist and to fight my way through to speak to receptionist to check out and no applogy from any of them !! I have stayed in lots of hotels around the UK well as world. But found the stay here unpleasant unfortunately!!!

We travelled from Somerset On our first evening we requested a 19.15 dinner reservation, but were told there were 2 functions on. So 19.45 would be better. We initially sat at a table in the restaurant, however the nearby function were making so much noise that we moved to an outer area close by. We sat at a table waiting to be served. But after waiting over 45 minutes I went to the barman to complain. He apologised and took our order. For the next 40 minutes we sat waiting for our meal. Then we noticed that some people who had sat down much later than us were getting their meals. I immediately complained and eventually our meal arrived along with more apologies. Now to my meal. I had ordered a simple sausage and chips with gravy offer from the menu. When this turned up the plate looked pretty bare. There were 3 very small and somewhat dried out sausages, a small mesh basket with small thinly cut chips (about 20) and a rather large gravy boat which was full to the top, but ridiculously far too much gravy for the meal in question. We looked at the price for my meal which was a ridiculous £16. I could have complained, but by then I was so hacked off I just eat it, because I was so hungry. For the rest of stay we eat in a local pub. Also the next day when we arrived back to our room from a day trip we found it had not been made up. Reception just brushed it off by saying thanks we will tell housekeeping Please let the manager see these comments. Colin Wakeman

Really impressed with everything, we booked a room on the ground floor as my wife suffers with difficulty walking . The room was exactly what we needed

Friendly staff. Bar staff need training on how to serve drinks, how to mix drinks and use of till ipad

The didn't let us check in because we late for like 3 hours. Even though we have 5 days rental

I have stayed in this hotel over many years with my family. It used to belong to the trust house forte group before holiday inn. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, lovely health centre. Good location

Convenient for Brands Hatch. Easy parking. Quiet. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would use again.

Staff were sensational Unless you have a car difficult to get a taxi to and from try a diferent hotel as it cost us several hundred pounds in taxis for the week stay

Hotel ok , staff friendly but very dated hotel . Nothing near worthwhile to go and eat or drink. The biggest thing thst bugged me was paying for parking overnight !, its a hotel !, it should have free parking !. Bar and gym are tiny also. Disappointing overall

As its promised that next day they help clean and changed beddings, we didnt get that because the kids had spilled juice on the covers and they still used the same beddings the sofar covers were not given duvets. Realised at bedtime when putting kids to bed. Room was not swept at all the next day. Dinning they could not offer us warm milk for cereals for the kids, the kitchen attendants said they dont do that, egg selection for breakfast, would be nice to have some boiled eggs too and they also said they cant make us weldone eggs.

The property is showing its age. Carpets in the public corridors are worn, there is may be evidence of a programme to update as there is new carpet in one section. Wasp were present in a high window one corridor which we were assured were being addressed , however as we stayed for 4 nights and there was no change in the situation the urgency was lacking. The restaurant was not open the night we decided to eat in leading to a very busy bar area and guests having to queue to place food orders at the bar. Overall short of IHG's usual standards I'm afraid.
