This is my second stay here in 6 months. Both times I was very impressed. Excellent value for money, friendly and attentive staff, interesting menu and a well stocked bar. What's not to like?

Old, characterful building that we thought must have been recently redecorated, but no, just kept clean and well-presented. Hotel is on an elevated spot away from traffic noise. Plenty of free, easy parking. Warm welcome at reception. Christmas lights had just gone up that day which were tastefully done and looked lovely inside and out. We wanted to go into Leeds City Centre. We drove to the Park&Ride which was easy, efficient and gave a regular service. Definitely recommend this place.

The staff were friendly, the grounds were beautiful. The staff were super communicative in the lead up to the booking, they'd asked if we'd prefer a room away from the hall which was hosting a Motown night since they saw we had an infant with us, and they called on the day to ask if we'd prefer the sofa bed or cot for the infant. They provided a small portion of cooked breakfast for the little guy too which was a nice touch! The only downside was the lack of lift, and we had a lot of luggage to carry up to the room. My little one enjoy the bath tub A LOT! Really big, spacious room.

Booked for a weekend, to visit friends nearby. Lovely setting and room was comfortable. Tea tray in the room had a some lovely biscuits. Breakfast was good, nice selection and able to make some changes to the set breakfast. Friendly staff Hotel is a wedding venue on some days, but it didn’t interfere with our stay, finished promptly and the guests were in a different area to the main bar.

Great hotel in it’s own grounds, wonderful staff who are all happy to help. Great breakfast and room has all the amenities you need for a night or two away. We had an event in Halifax, took about 25 mins in a taxi to get there. Enjoyed our stay and would def recommend.

Good stay. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Room clean and had all required amenities, although I found the bed a little too soft, but my husband slept well. Staff very friendly, although we requested extra tea bags and milk twice, but it didn’t arrive. Went down to reception but unmanned. However, Harry on the bar was brilliant.

From the outside, the hotel looks lovely and inviting, however, when we opened the door to room 204, ‘The Snug’, the stench of damp hit us before we even stepped in and in fact we didn’t even bother going in. The staff at reception did apologise. Our second room, 109 did not smell but the carpet was so dirty that I placed a towel on it to get from the bed to the bathroom and the carpet had a burn ironed mark…you could see the exact shape of the iron! The plug for the bathroom sink was dirty as well as the bathtub one. The foam pillows were like bricks and the mattress was saggy. The gap under the door was so wide that the light came through like a strong nightlight. The room view was literally a brick wall and the cold air came through the window so badly that we put on the oil heater! The PAT test on the heater was 2021 and therefore out of service test date…potentially unsafe! Mirror light didn’t work. The heated towel rail didn’t work. Breakfast was poor. The fried eggs tasted like old veg oil and the hashbrown made the McDonalds version seem gourmet! The grilled tomatoes tasted of washing up liquid! I have never wanted to leave a hotel faster! Had we not arrived at 10pm, we would have tried to find another hotel. It’s hard to believe that it’s a wedding location! We did like the cool rattan tissue cover box though!

I’ve stayed here on a regular basis when in the area for work. The staff are always brilliant - helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and I always have a great nights sleep. I don’t often have dinner, but breakfast is always delicious

We had a one night stay because we were going to a concert in Huddersfield. Great location for the venue! Fantastic, friendly staff (Charley in particular, was very professional, nothing was too much trouble)!The room was immaculate and quiet. Breakfast was included and was 5*. The room was extraordinarily hot and we had to ask housekeeping for a fan which should already be in each room since UK summers are hot now. Pleasant helpful staff and complimentary breakfast was divine! Healds Hall is a lovely property and the grounds are gorgeous!

Stayed one night in a “snug double” as a solo - perfect size for me and quite comfortable. Used as a base for a local party, so didn’t use the hotel much, but enjoyed an afternoon beer in the lovely outside seating area. Came back late and a wedding do was in full flow - so quite noisy, but didn’t affect me too much, but might if you wanted a quiet night. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Included breakfast was delicious. Free parking felt safe too. Overall a nice stay. I’d choose this place again.

The check in was easy and staff were welcoming. It would have been a higher rating if they had turned the heating on in the room as both radiators were turned off and the room was very cold when I arrived. It took well over an hour for the room to heat up. Apart from that check in was excellent.

Maybe the decor is a a little dated but good quality furniture, towels and bedding, all well maintained and very comfortable. Everything you need for an overnight stay, including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits on the hospitality tray. The food in the restaurant is really very good indeed and consistently so. Great value for money food and drink. Decent wines by the glass selection. Excellent cooked breakfast. Well trained and friendly staff. When I’m not staying in Leeds city centre, this will be where I stay over on business / have dinner going forward.

Really good customer service. I arrived late in the afternoon on Boxing Day, after a 4 hour drive, and one of the first things I was asked was had I eaten? Turns out it was a Boxing Day 3 course menu and the kitchen was just closing and the lady in reception wanted to ensure I could get something to eat rather than take a chance in the local area. Absolutely marvellous customer service and saved me a lot of faff. They allowed me to have what I wanted from the menu and tailored the price accordingly. Brilliant. And the food and service were top notch. Thank you for looking after this weary traveller.

Unrenovated room, cold,draughty. No make up mirror. Could not call other rooms. No room file. Asked for a heater. Mattress had it, soggy at edges. Bath ran so slowly. Staff tried their best. Breakfast slow, tea took ages. Lack of bar staff at night.

We booked this hotel as its location met our requirements. That said, it turned out to be something of a gem. We had a comfortable, if slightly dated, room in a characterful building, but it really scored in terms of the staff and the catering. Both breakfast and evening meal were of a high standard and the all the staff were excellent.

Brilliant hotel. Booked for a gig at John Smiths. Easy busy into City from Hotel and cheap Uber back afterwards. Hotel staff were great and really helpful. Breakfast was also lovely next morning. Really can’t fault it in anyway

Old, characterful building that we thought must have been recently redecorated, but no, just kept clean and well-presented. Hotel is on an elevated spot away from traffic noise. Plenty of free, easy parking. Warm welcome at reception. Christmas lights had just gone up that day which were tastefully done and looked lovely inside and out. We wanted to go into Leeds City Centre. We drove to the Park&Ride which was easy, efficient and gave a regular service. Definitely recommend this place.

We stay here every time we travel up north to visit family. Its so easy to get to, staff are lovely, food is always great. We stayed in room 109 this time quite a spacious room. Bed was comfy however only a double. I think the hotel could do with some King size beds the rooms are plenty big enough to accommodate these. Room could do with curtains as bad drafts coming through old style windows but didnt ruin our stay. Slept ok, breakfast was delicious and plenty of it but always is. Staff are lovely and cant do enough for you. Will be staying here again.

We had a one night stay because we were going to a concert in Huddersfield. Great location for the venue! Fantastic, friendly staff (Charley in particular, was very professional, nothing was too much trouble)!The room was immaculate and quiet. Breakfast was included and was 5*. Great hotel in it’s own grounds, wonderful staff who are all happy to help. Great breakfast and room has all the amenities you need for a night or two away. We had an event in Halifax, took about 25 mins in a taxi to get there. Enjoyed our stay and would def recommend.

The food in the restaurant is really very good indeed and consistently so. Great value for money food and drink. Decent wines by the glass selection. Excellent cooked breakfast. Well trained and friendly staff. When I’m not staying in Leeds city centre, this will be where I stay over on business / have dinner going forward.

As always the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly (Shirley was lovely: smiley, chatty, courteous and efficient) Food, as ever, was very good and as real ale drinkers, we appreciated the good beer on offer. Breakfast was excellent, but the coffee was very weak and not to our taste For the first time, we stayed overnight. Although the room was fine, it felt a little underwhelming after the surroundings in the restaurant. Mould in the bathroom was unsightly.

Really good customer service. I arrived late in the afternoon on Boxing Day, after a 4 hour drive, and one of the first things I was asked was had I eaten? Turns out it was a Boxing Day 3 course menu and the kitchen was just closing and the lady in reception wanted to ensure I could get something to eat rather than take a chance in the local area. Absolutely marvellous customer service and saved me a lot of faff. They allowed me to have what I wanted from the menu and tailored the price accordingly. Brilliant. And the food and service were top notch. Thank you for looking after this weary traveller.

Friendly staff made my stay at Healds Hall like a home from home experience. The food served in the restaurant was amazing and a large choice to suit every palate. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would almost certainly stay again !

The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed there on Friday and Saturday night when there was a wedding each day so they were kept very busy. Would definitely stay there again.
