This was a great find with parking because it was only a five-minute drive to crowded Bankstown with all its restaurants and markets. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and it was a good-sized room. Whoever invented the taps in the bathroom probably didn't get a design award. There was a problem with breakfast that could be easily fixed. We arrived for breakfast at around 8:00 am; the coffee dispenser was empty, as were the eggs and bacon trays, and there were several tables with dirty plates and cups that hadn't been cleared, so we cleared a table ourselves. I asked the male staff member about the coffee, but it took ages. I had finished my meal before it eventually arrived, and some of the guests were upset. I also alerted reception about the eggs and bacon, which eventually also arrived. The staff member responsible for breakfast should be constantly monitoring these things.

Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom could do with an upgrade - shower head very small and the toilet cistern constantly ran. Plenty of onsite parking and very quiet considering it’s on the Hume Highway. Will definitely stay again.

Expected a better hotel from Rydges. Hotel itself is very old and certainly needs upgrading. Main issue was noise from Hume highway, on which hotel is situated. Plenty of parking spaces without extra cost. Beds are comfy but toilets were exhausted looking with mould build-up. I guess if you look at the price, that gives you the indication.

The drinking cups in the room were not clean. They couldnt provide hotel basics like slippers for hygiene. The pool was dirty and unswimmable. Overall will not be returning

Unfortunately this was a horrible stay. The king spa suite wasn't as described. The spa only occasionally turned on, there was no air-conditioning in the room, the facilities were old and run down (photos online are verrrrry old). There was only one staff on front desk the entire time. Our room key stopped working and it too over half an hour to have someone come to the desk to issue a new one. The pool had the automatic cleaner in it the entire time with cords everywhere, very unsafe for the kids. Really wouldn't recommend.

I did not like the bathroom was dirty, the towels were stained and the surfaces were sticky! I don’t think I will ever be staying at a Rydges again after this. Total overprice of a 1 star motel

Rooms especially the bathroom was not clean, I had urine on the floor around the toilet and random hairs. The bath tap leaked continuously. The lift, corridors etc were very dated with damaged skirting and old paint. Rooms were not replenished with milks and coffee, towels not changed or folded daily.

To be honest, I was far from impressed, the room was filthy, the dust was so thick, broken window latches and some missing, mould in bathroom in/out of shower and round tap fittings, towels were dirty. I took photos due to how disgusted I was. Room was partly refreshed when we went out, tea and coffee was not replenished nor were the cups cleaned (this has always been done in previous stays at other apartments) 2/4 towels were replaced. TV apps eg. Netflix was in Korean and staff were unable to fix this during our stay, they did give us a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice gesture due to them being unable to fix. The whole place is run down and needs a good makeover and some serious maintenance. Definitely not the 4 star it promotes itself to be and the cost was far more than what I should’ve paid. Had I known about the 30 mins window to let someone know about the state of our room I would’ve been down there quick smart to have these rectified. I will not be back, I really do hope Rydges take some action I have seen previous reviews similar to mine with comments that action will be taken it seems these comments have gone unheard and unactioned. Don’t waste your $$ not worth it.

When I expressed my disappointment to the staff, they did not seem to care. Other hotels I’ve stayed at have a 6am breakfast start. Overall the hotel needs updating. It’s looking feeling tired and worn. The price was good.

Overall it was reasonably priced for what you get! -Could definitely do with new plumbing/fittings as the taps screech everytime you use them that is after you turn the tap 3 times before you start getting water haha - Bedding/beds were nice and tidy and clean and quite comfortable, blackout blinds were great considering I slept during the day being on night shift work! - Lighting (or lack of) was disappointing, there is one downlight at the entry and a light in bathroom, the rest of the room has no lights so you have to use the multiple lamps around the room in order to see which still isn’t much light but it’s manageable - Foyer and lifts are nice and everything is key card access which is very convenient, plenty of parking! - Conveniently located directly next to a maccas which is great for those late night Icecream runs

The only good things about this hotel is the customer service, and Netflix included, and the climate control made the room comfortable. The room is clean but everything else is lower than expected such as the bathroom is broken tiles everywhere. The un pleasant smell from the carpet carry through from the hall way to the room. The noise from the tap so loud, the room not well insulated you can hear noise when people talking in the hallway or room next door, and the busy road noise.

The service we received was exceptional, particularly from Alanna and Mohammed. There were a few maintenance issues, which I reported and hope to see those issues remedied to be able to stay again. This place has so much potential, it just needs some maintenance and a bit of a refresh.

Was not impressed by breakfast service…a group of tourists were given priority over us. I arrived at 6.30am waiting and even though they arrived after me they were served first! Not impressed that I was not told about this when I checked in…….as a result I did not enjoy the breakfast buffet and hot food was cold!

Wonderful place the staff are amazing! We had an issue with the ac but the manager instantly fixed it and gave us chocolates! Nice touch I thought! We will be back again very soon for much longer this time!
