Old Pier Cottage B&B

A lovely little cottage on Uig Bay owned by the hoteliers of the Uig Hotel. A wonderful breakfast was included at the hotel a 10-15 minute walk away. Our room had an ensuite and a beautiful view of the bay. Parking was easily accessible. Information on dining, historic places, hikes, pubs, etc. was readily available from the hotel staff. Service & staff were exceptional. If there was ever a place to get lost & press the reset button, the Isle of Skye was it for us! Enchanting.

Bei der Ankunft begrüßte uns das sympathische Gastgeber-Paar, denen auch das Uig Hotel gehört. Billy nahm sich sehr viel Zeit und war für ein interessantes Gespräch offen. Die Unterkunft fanden wir sehr sauber vor (innen wie außen). Im Zimmer befinden sich ein kleiner Kühlschrank und die übliche Tee-/Kaffee-Ausstattung. Parkplätze sind direkt vor der Tür. WLAN ist stabil und ausreichend schnell. Im stets offenen Vorraum der zwei Unterkünfte stehen Sofas und ein großer Fernseher. Im Raum selbst ist nur ein sehr kleiner TV-Apparat. Das Zimmer wurde während unseres 3-tägigen Aufenthaltes jeden Tag "aufgefrischt". Der Blick auf den Hafen von Uig kann malerisch sein, wenn die Sonne hinter dem Hügel untergeht. Zum Genuss dieses Ausblicks sind Holzbänke vor dem Haus aufgestellt, die auch zum Picknicken geeignet sind. Von Uig aus sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten auf Skye sehr gut erreichbar. Die Hotelrezeption hält eine Übersicht mit vielen Tipps bereit. So kann man jeden Tag in eine andere Himmelsrichtung aufbrechen. Vielleicht ein Haken für einige Reisende: Das (übrigens großartige) Frühstück wird im Uig Hotel gereicht und nicht in der Unterkunft. Dazu ist ein Spaziergang (bergauf) von 10-15 Minuten erforderlich oder man nimmt gleich das Auto, um von dort aus in Richtung der Sehenswürdigkeiten aufzubrechen. Das Haus ist insgesamt ein wenig hellhörig, aber das erlebt man in vielen (insbesondere älteren) Hotels ebenso. Klare Empfehlung, wir kommen wieder!

The large bathroom was beautiful and clean and had a great shower. Parking is available on site and there is a a beautiful area to sit outside and view the harbour and watch the sunset. It was so quiet and peaceful. We had the included breakfast at the hotel each morning where a great selection was provided and the food was amazing, the staff were helpful, service was great and they were always friendly. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend The Old Pier Cottage. We hope to return again one day. Thank you for a great stay.

We sat in the garden watching a flock of 40 dolphins hunt from the B&B garden in the sunset. So lovely! We also saw seals in the bay. We had a lovely stay in every way.

The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and quiet, the location is beautiful, with a stunning view in the bay Breakfast is at the nearby hotel, a 10 mins refreshing walk, which is totally worth it, as the hotel serves a very good breakfast cooked to order. The facility is self check in, the indications provided were clear and easy to follow. We had no issues. We really enjoyed our stay and would totally recommend it.

The room within the cottage was clean, comfortable and provided all that was needed. There was ample storage for belongings and the view was amazing. It was good to watch the Ferry arriving and departing from the pier. All in all excellent and would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Perfect two day stay. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. The view from our room was amazing. Breakfast and dinner at the Uig Hotel was a bit of a walk but achievable.

The Old Pier Cottage is beautifully located right on the water. Stunning views from your windows. Breakfast included at the Uig hotel was delicious. We ate our dinners here as well. Our room was very clean and comfortable. A perfect place to stay for a few days in Skye.

What a fantastic place, right on the waterfront looking out to Uig harbour. Very quiet, lovely spotless room with fantastic views, fridge in the room was a bonus. The cottage owners also own the Uig hotel where excellent choice of breakfast was included. We also had dinner in the hotel which was exceptional, they must have a great chef. So lucky to have found this place. Great location to explore Skye.

Lovely 3 days at Old Pier Cottage. It was great to be down by the water's edge and so quiet. Our accommodation was very clean and comfortable. A fridge was a bonus for keeping drinks cool.The meals in the Uig Hotel were very good and we dined there each evening as well. The pleasant walk to it is half a mile uphill, so you'll need a car if it is very wet.

It is impeccably clean. The HUGE bathroom with heated floor and tiled shower was a nice surprise (we’re American so we love a spacious bathroom!) Billy and Anne are your hosts. They live on site and also manage the Uig hotel, where we had our delicious breakfast each morning. The staff there is lovely and accommodating. Obviously you don’t come to Skye to sit in your room but we found sitting at our table and watching the Caledeon MacBrayne ferry boat pull in and out of the pier a very relaxing way to pass the time. We found Old Pier’s location good for the things we wanted to see on Skye. The Fairy Glenn is an 8 minute drive from the cottage and when you go at sunset, you have the place to yourself. We are grateful for our stay here. Thank you Billy for being so welcoming and accommodating!

Struttura con camere spaziose e pulite, abbastanza facile da raggiungere, direttamente sul mare e a vista sulla baia; staff cordiale e disponibile. Consigliata!

This was a beautiful spot with a beautiful view of the lake. Awesome breakfast included. We would absolutely stay again. If I had only one complaint is that the walls are thin with the other room next door otherwise it was perfect!

Vi havde 3 overnatninger. Vi synes, at vi boede det bedste sted på Isle of Skye. Der er kort vej til The Quiraing, som anbefales at besøge tidligt for at undgå for mange mennesker. Rigtig god morgenmad på hotellet. Eneste lille minus er, at det er meget lydt, men når der kun er to værelser, tager man mere hensyn til hinanden. Udsigten var det bedste!!!

Lovely view from our window, modern bathroom/toilet, full hot breakfast included from the hotel up the road, very close to the Fairy Glen which meant we visited at twilight which was magical - we were the only ones there, other than the sheep, which was a completely different experience than when it is covered in tourists. Close to the ferry to Lewis and Harris

Stayed at the Old Pier B&B, Uig, for 4 nights whilst touring the island with a pal. Uig Hotel provided a fantastic breakfast every morning, and a pack-breakfast for our final morning, due to red-eye departure. Room was perfect for our needs, and a great base for our stay. Landlord was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful whenever required. View over the bay was gorgeous, assisted by the great weather during our stay. I’d recommend staying there to anyone looking for accommodation, and will return again when the time is right.

This property is right on water so there is beautiful view, comfortable beds, and breakfast is awesome at the Uig Hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful and shared information about fun local places to visit.

The couple who run it also run the UIG Hotel too, which is where you have the breakfast. The lady was lovely and very helpful! We ate at the hotel the evening too and the food was great. Views from the room are beautiful, overlooking the water. Lovely and quiet, and very convenient if you are getting the ferry from Uig. Would definitely stay again!

This cottage B&B was cozy with amazing views and the host was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant at the hotel at the top of the hill which is owned by them was great for breakfast and dinners. Highly recommend this place!

A great base to explore the north of Skye

Delightful location - very comfortable room - delicious breakfast in the nearby hotel. Altogether a lovely place to stay. Ideal for boarding the ferry to Tarbert.

This property was one of the highlights of a wonderful two week driving trip around Scotland. It is located on a beautiful bay that faces west with otters and herons. The sunsets were spectacular. The town of Uig is well-located for highlights of sky like the Fairy Glen, the Quiriang, and Old Man of Storr. Comfortable bed, nice shower, delicious breakfasts at the nearby Uig Hotel.

This was a LOVELY property and the owners are so kind. The view alone is worth booking for. Their restaurant (at the hotel) serves delicious dinner as well and is a short walk away.

Beautiful area, friendly owner , totally enchanting. Uig is just a few minutes from the Fairy Glen- don'tmiss it! If you enjoy exploring there are waterfalls and lovely woods.

Exceptional view! If you want to feel you are in The Isle of Skye then this the place. A 20 minute drive to Portree.

The property is right by the ocean, and it's breathtakingly beautiful. The staff is prompt and friendly. They provide free breakfast which was one of the best we had in Scotland. Dinner at the hotel, is something I would highly recommend. Recommending this place to all of my friends and family who want to go to Skye.

Lovely room in a small cottage overlooking the Uig Harbour. Short drive or walk up to the Uig Hotel for breakfast. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and all freshly cooked to order.
