Our room was huge and clean and the location was perfect. Unfortunately there was construction happening during our stay that we were not told about ahead of time so we weren’t able to park at the hotel but a quarter mile up the road there was a parking garage for ~$25 a day.

The hotel was ok. Be aware, they have a VERY small parking lot and they do not have enought spaces for hotel guests so you may want to call ahead to see if there is availability before booking your room or you will be parking in a piblic lot about 8 min walk from hotel. If you drive a large truck, it may not fit.

Nice hotel in a good location. Needs some refreshing ( carpet needs to be replaced). Breakfast not special. Adequate but like a Hampton Inn breakfast. Nice coffee and drink options (wine dispenser ) in the lobby.

We had the loft, very interesting layout with plenty of room and a fully functional kitchen. It's in the older building (attached to the new one), so no elevator, but not hard to access through some fairly old stairs. Room was nice and comfortable with lots of space, but one huge drawback for us: all the windows are sealed shut (in spite of the information received from the front desk before booking, that all rooms have opening windows). Luckily there was an access door to some external stairs in the back that we could open to let some fresh air in. The espresso machine in front of the reception was a nice bonus.

parking spots are very small and difficult to get in and out of. breakfast was not very good. tv was a huge puzzle to operate. we did enjoy using the complimentary coffee machine. location was great. staff was very helpful and pleasant.

This hotel is located in the Old Quebec City and is very walkable to shops and restaurants. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable and clean. I have stayed here a few times and recommend it highly

Our room window faced a wall, rather dark,. The worst thing though was there was sewage smell escaping from the faulty bathroom sink trap. We had to keep the plug down all the time

A great property located within the historic city walled area with easy walking to all points of interest. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious and the lift/elevator helped with our heavy baggage. Noted that some other local hotels have small rooms and no lift so we already knew the benefits here. Breakfast was very reasonable with a good range to choose from. The room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. Nice bonus was the range of wines available to purchase by the glass in the reception area along with a good coffee machine and seating area. Minor point was the difficulty we had getting the television to operate although the staff got it working a couple of times. This was not an issue as we were out exploring most of the time. There was good Wi-Fi coverage so this handy for free-streaming radio stations, getting tourist info etc. Highly recommended hotel. We arrived and left by train. Uber/taxis available. Don’t think about dragging your cases from the station up to the centre town area, it’s quite steep. Overall great visit to Quebec City.

The hotel is in a nice quiet area. I felt very safe staying there. I feel the room carpets could use replacing because it looks like many pets stayed there and had accidents. Many spots around.

Staff are really nice and helpful and is the only reason that I gave 2 stars, otherwise I would give zero stars. If a hotel is pet friendly, they should be able to clean the rooms properly. Luckily I don’t have pet allergy but my cough got worse during our stay and it only gets better when we are not in the room/hotel. Pet hair is everywhere in the room and even went to my daughter’s food. We asked for the room to be vacuumed because of the pet hair but there were still a lot left. We should bot even ask, they should make sure every room is clean before each guest. I usually don’t ask for room cleaning because I don’t want other people entering our room but I really can’t stay in the room without being cleaned any longer. All our clothes, bags and everything we brought to the hotel is full of pet hair. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Great location, overall clean shared space. Breakfast was good given the price. Although room and bedsheets were clean, the bed pillows smelled like they hadn’t been washed for months. I hope my room was an exception and management would take note of that. Staff was very courteous and made us feel welcome.

We had a room with a king-size bed, just fyi. First, let me tell you this is not a super-modern, recently renovated, high-end full-of-amenities hotel. But, from the price, you should know that. But, for the price, it is really excellent. It is superbly located, it's quiet, the bed was super comfortable, it's clean, the staff are excellent. We paid extra to have the morning breakfast, it is reasonable and the variety is ok. If I came back to Quebec City and wanted to stay in the old town, I would either pay 3 times the price and stay at the Frontenac, or else stay here, I don't think I would look at another hotel.

Great location but the room is in need of some TLC. The washroom needs some renovating with tiles missing from the floor, mold on the ceiling, mirror that is falling apart…etc.

Great location and value. A little outdated rooms, but clean. Unfortunately, the window was facing another building and you could only see a brick wall. Staff was nice and hot drinks in the lobby were very good. Parking was very tight.

My wife stayed for two nights at Hotel Champlain with a friend visiting from England. They had a marvellous time in the city and thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the hotel. Mathieu and the rest of the team made them feel very welcome and were most helpful. The room was large and vlight and the beds were extremely comfortable. They highly recommend Hotel Champlain for a visit to the old city of Quebec - the hotel is walking distance from all the sights with the city walls. They would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. Bed was very comfortable and one of the only places I’ve ever stayed where the room could be made dark. Breakfast was only so-so so we only bought that the first morning but the free coffee was delicious. Convenient and quiet location in the heart of the old city. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean to my satisfaction. The WiFi was not working for 2 days out of our 3 nights stay. The receptionist does not seem to know when it will be fixed when I asked them. In the end, we received 2 complimentary coupons for buffet breakfast to compensate for the Wifi that was not working. We were not informed until the check out date on Friday, Nov 21, 2025. Overall, the room was great but the service is so so.

Hi. This property was an excellent find in old Quebec. However, we did experience discrimination because of my guide dog when trying to use the breakfast room on our first morning. We were asked to leave with our pet dog, even though it wasn’t a pet. We did refuse to leave, and the situation was dealt with by the hotel manager. They did offer us some compensation, but have Fayre to another part of Quebec city isn’t really fair compensation for being discriminated against. I was given service, so will not be pursuing this action any further. But this kind of discrimination takes an emotional toll.

I booked 4 rooms at this hotel for me and my friends. I chose it according to other reviews. It was actually better than expected and we are all more than happy with our rooms and overall stay. I can see the Hotel Frontenac from my window and most of us have a beautiful fireplace. This was a pleasant surprise!

The hotel itself was very nice and cleanly. The staff on the other hand were not as pleasant. On our second day at the hotel my partner got questioned by a staff member if he belonged in the building while passing by the lobby to get back to our room. It was awkward and made him feel like he didn’t belong there. Our room also never got cleaned, we were instructed to scan a QR code and hang a sign on our door to request our room to get clean, we scanned it as soon as we checked into our room. We never saw any cleaners and our room never got any fresh towels, linens or our garbages changed.

Mauvais accueil d’arrivée avec Marine qui devrait perfectionner la gestion des situations difficiles. On ne m’a pas informée que le système ne marchait pas et je me suis rendue compte du relevé des informations de ma carte bancaire seule! Chantage à ne pas me donner ma chambre pour une caution alors que le problème venait de l’hôtel et que ma chambre était déjà payée . Cela crée une mauvaise impression dès le départ et ce traitement n’était pas normal, pas adapté. Départ avec une personne très bien.

We had a great 3 night stay at this property. Loved the location. Walked everywhere. It was very quiet which surprised me because I saw a lot of dogs in the hotel. Checkout staff was great. Everything went smoothly and had onsite parking. Would stay at this hotel again.

We had a great time, the hotel is in a convenient location to explore Old Quebec, room was comfortable everything was in working order and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a small sitting area in the lobby and coffee, tea, wine and beer were available. Breakfast was optional and very basic. I would definitely return.
