Very clean room, despite the small room size. Getting to make my own breakfast was great in the shared kitchen. Staff was nice and helpful! The rooftop terrace was enjoyable!

Very clean, very nice staff, easy to park, shops nearby, very good location! Very good hotel, although the room is a bit small, but it has everything you need, clean and simple, you don't have to worry about the size of the room, just enjoy it. There is also a 24-hour kitchen for self-service breakfast, which is very satisfying.

The rooms are very small. We found our bed on the ceiling. Other than that we love the place and the vibe. We liked the self made breakfast and the fact the kitchen was stocked with breakfast items and could be used at any time. The roof top deck was fun. My husband kept hitting his head on the bed before I figured out how to get it down. Overall we liked the place and are willing to return.

Our stay was great; Friendly staff, good location and amenities (fire pit on the roof, luggage storage, self service breakfast). The room was a bit smaller than we were used too, but the room functioned well and had everything needed.

Location: It takes around 5 minutes to Rue Saint-Jean and Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. It is quiet all the time. Room: Although the room is small, it is clean (just there was a rice at the sink at the first day). Considered that it is a budget hotel, it is seldom to provide a fridge in each room. Dryer is provided as well. I requested for a room with a better view and my request was fulfilled. Service: House keeping is good. Réception is nice , just he/ she only works from 12noon to 8pm. Therefore, if you arrive at the hotel earlier than 12noon, you might not be able to store your luggage before check-in. (Room key-card is required to enter the hotel before 12noon and after 8pm.) Facilities: Cooking area is great and simple ingredients (like eggs, bread and fruit) are provided (free of charge). View at the rooftop is great too and you can have marshmallow bbq during 6-11pm. Washing machine is provided but there is no dryer.

The rooms are very small but it was perfectly located for exploring the city which was all we needed. Everything was within walking distance and endless options of restaurants only a 2 min walk down the hill to Rue St. Louis. The tiny room is a bit inconvenient but we weren’t in the room much so it wasn’t a problem. Shower was nice and hot, great water pressure. Didn’t have breakfast here as it was very minimal and the kitchen was busy with people cooking their own breakfast most days as it is a fully usable kitchen. Kind of a hostel vibe in the common spaces. But we enjoyed the automatic espresso machine each morning! Parking is not available at the hotel, but the parking garage is only a short walk and not too expensive for a city (approx 20 CAN a night) so even with the additional parking cost this hotel is a great deal for a clean place to sleep in the heart of the city.

Great area to stay and walk around. The facility looks brand new, everything worked as supposed to be. What was different? Breakfast available but you need to prepare your food yourself and do dishes after all. You can check in and out through a Kiosk. Room is small but very functional. I liked it.

J'ai adoré l'accès à la terrasse sur le toit avec brasero le soir. Et le fait que l'accès à la cuisine soit disponible tout le temps. La salle de petit déjeuner est lumineuse et agréable. La douche etait exceptionnelle !

When i reserved, it said breakfast included. I was expecting some sort of prepared breakfast. Instead, we had to make our own with very limited supplies. Everyone had their hands in the same bread bag, which they ran out of one morning. We were responsible for doing our own dishes. Observing others doing their dishes, half didn't even use soap! O found it very unhygienic.

Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas terrible. C’est un peu cher pour le service obtenu. Il n’y a personne à la réception. Il y a une cuisine commune qui n’est pas très propre, ça ne donne pas très envie d’y rester et de manger là. La chambre est vraiment minimaliste. Sur les photos, ça paraît beaucoup plus grand. Au global, ça va pour une nuit.

The carpet in the room was wet because of the shower. Smell bad.

They never cleaned my room. The first morning, I briefly put the do not disturb sign on my door when I went down to breakfast but I took it off before I left to sightsee. The next 2 days, I did not put any sign on my door and still returned back to a dirty room. Since there is no staff on site in the evenings and the cleaning crew is long gone, there was no one to call to ask for fresh towels

The location of the hotel is really nice, but the rooms are too small. The housekeeping wasn’t great either. We saw that our bed sheets were dirty and full of hair. We requested to get it changed and even then the bed sheets were not clean. Further, there was no ventilation in the room (the exhaust fans of the entire hotel were not working) and the windows didn’t open. AC helped, but it took its time.

The rooms are brand new and very clean. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked and clean as well.

Good location close to the old town and fun layout of the room. However, it is very small and the bathroom just has a sliding door. Feels like you are staying on a boat. We asked to get the AC fixed but nothing was done. Had the sign out for two days to get cleaning service done but nothing was done. The concept of a shared kitchen is nice though.

The location and cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic. The only downside is the mattress in the room was not comfortable. It was very thin and did not have great support

Not a nice room, the bed was 5 feet off the ground. It was held up by a few legs that had be kicked forward for the bed to drop. No chairs or cabinets with drawers. Impossible to walk on either side of the bed, enter from the bottom. No place to hang clothes other than wooden hooks on the walls. No place in the bathroom to put your stuff. Just a toilet and sink. But the staff were great. We have been all around the world this was truly the oddest.

Very small space. Murphy bed is an adjustment. Probably would not select for more than 2 days. Hotel location is great.Good value.

Excellent location and very friendly staff which offset the really tiny rooms that didn’t have comfortable furniture other than the bed which is pulled down from the ceiling. No bureau to put things on or in. Once the bed was pulled down, there was not really room to comfortably move about the room. The free breakfast advertised is not a buffet, it’s a do it yourself with ingredients provided, but I don’t want to cook or prepare food on vacation. This hotel was not for us.

Possibly the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, limiting the comfort factor The bed which pretty much filled the room, when lowered, was pretty comfortable The best thing about this property was it's location Short walk to all old town attractions Breakfast limited, though a full kitchen is provided if you feel like cooking Public parking was available in an underground lot about 100 yards away (park on level 3 for street access to hotel) Overall, reasonable for a short stay in Quebec City at a good price

We stayed several nights. Room very small for our needs. we got used to “putting the bed away for the day.” Limitations on where to sit for example, or to pose a suitcase. Staff was great though, and the 24 hour kitchen was a nice idea. Extremely well located. Perfect if passing through for a night, or backpacking without too much gear. Price was fair for what you get.

The location and cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic. The only downside is the mattress in the room was not comfortable. It was very thin and did not have great support

Accueil super chaleureux, petit dej sympa et copieux (il faut faire sa vaisselle), chambre propre et bonne literie, confortable. Très bien placé. Les chambres sont vraiment petites, le lit est escamotable. A deux dans une chambre avec une grosse valise chacun, on peut dire qu’il n’y a absolument plus de place.

Property is unique. I would have rated 4 stars but we never got the air/heat controlled even after switching rooms. The thermostat would show 19 programmed but the room was 25! The hallways were also super hot. Rooms are small and unique but functional for the price we paid. Bed raises and lowers to allow space for a folding table. Very IKEA feeling but ok. Shower was great. Staff were friendly but the hotel is only staffed 12-8 otherwise by touchscreen or phone. Breakfast is actually a self serve kitchen where you and other guests could prepare your own food and wash the dishes. Cereal, eggs, bread and juice/milk available as well as coffee machine. Again, odd and unique. Overall was ok but the heat made it not such a good stay.

Emplacement idéal en plein cœur de Québec Nous sommes arrivés après la fermeture de la réception ; tout s’est bien passé car l’hôtel adjacent est disponible pour les arrivées de l’hôtel Atypiq 24/24. « Petit déjeuner inclus » mais il s’agit en réalité d’une grande cuisine commune avec four, plaques, etc… Chambres correctes. Cependant, le room service est à demander chaque jour via un QR code, ce qui n’est pas forcément expliqué à l’arrivée ! Nous avons été facturés 2x sur une même commande, mais le personnel a toujours été accessible et rapide pour régler le problème.

Ce n'est pas évident de trouver comment s'enregistrer en arrivant et le personnel n'est pas toujours présent. La chambre est très confortable.

This place is awesome and I just left the Hilton’s! The location is perfect, surrounded by shops restaurants and mostly beautiful parks. For someone without a car, it’s perfect. William has been a charming welcoming host. The place is managed beautifully with a minimalist perspective, yet you have access to everything you need to make your stay most enjoyable: access to food you can cook at your convenience, drinks offered too, the bed that you can keep on the ground or elevate to use the space, a fire place on the roof and complementary popcorn and marshmallows, a convenient luggage elevator, and I could go on and on. The atmosphere is pleasant. This is my 10th hotel in Canada and is ranking at the top for me. Thank you Atypic, you wear that name so well!

Very convenient location and friendly staff

This hotel is certainly an atypic one. Upon arriving to the hotel, you begin by the self check in, which is supposed to be done on the touchscreen computer at the entrance of the kitchen area. I am certainly used to all types of touch devices and applications of that type and I can see that the software that they use could be improved. I was basically stuck on a UI bug at the signature step and I had to basically start over again at least two times. Generally, the touchscreen that they use for this computer is very slow to respond to touch inputs and uses tactile input which is not as precise and reliable as a normal capacitive display found on devices like an iPad or an iPhone. when I got past that, I only had to pay the deposit fee, but then the computer got stuck on receiving the inputs from the payment terminal. The employee that was there just mentioned that those problems were known and offered me to complete the deposit fee payment separately on another device. I am wondering on why the hotel hasn't fixed those problems if they are being experienced by guests, keep in mind that I am a technically inclined person, so I can clearly imagine that other guests would have problems as well completing self check in. When I was trying to find information on the room equipment or hotel, I did scan the QR codes to display the online guide that they have for the hotel but busy the link of the QR code was invalid and there was no document loading on that link.

We enjoyed our stay at hotel Atypiq because its location was perfect for us. The room was small but adequate, very unusual idea of creating space by lifting the bed overhead. The staff at the front were very accommodating, thank you.

This worked perfectly. Right in the heart of Old Quebec. I wasn’t there to live in a room, so the size of it did not bother my wife and I. They have snacks and food in the kitchen. It was a great stay and nice staff.

Cute small room with a good use of space, great shower, friendly staff, amazing location easy to get all over old Quebec, parking is maybe 200m away it was $36 for two nights.

stayed at this hotel for just one night and overall had a good experience. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the location was definitely a positive point. However, the breakfast was disappointing. It works on a self-service system where guests prepare, eat, and wash their own dishes, but when we arrived, almost everything was gone. I asked about eggs, and the staff told me they would only arrive the next day. Basically, there was only bread, green apples, and yogurt available. For the price of the stay, I expected a more complete and organized breakfast.

The property is well located. Public transportation can be used to access the location. Property provides breakfast items to cook your breakfast in the morning . A novel experience fir me.

The room is small but cozy and clean. The mattress was a bit low, and the first night I had some back pain and didn’t sleep very well. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is not served, but all the ingredients are available at any time of the day. I would suggest adding a few more protein options besides eggs, and perhaps some croissants for the morning. The area is nice, and the hotel is conveniently located near the main attractions.
