Staff were excellent. Nice to deal with and pleasant. Our original room had plumbing issues (sink wasn’t draining and toilet wasn’t flushing) which was annoying but they were able to switch us to a different room with no issue. Biggest complaint is that in the evening, when using the pool as paying guests , we had to share this tiny pool with not one, not two but FOUR private instructors and their students. There was no room for us to sit because the parents of the students took up all the chairs. We felt we couldn’t go in the pool with our own kids as there just was not space for us (and it felt like it would be weird). This is completely unacceptable… as paying hotel guests we shouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable using the space because of private lessons. We were not the only hotel guests who were frustrated by this.

The staff was engaging and attentive. I can't say that enough. We never had to wait at the desk for anything . The breakfast was also a great way to start the day. The only negative was parking. The stalls are too small and the parking lot crowded and above capacity. The nature of alberta is that so many work trucks need to be there and they are larger than the normal vehicle.

Room was clean but our tv did not work properly (very old, had lines through the screen). We liked the pool but they do host swimming lessons there which cut into our enjoyment of the space. Overall an okay stay.

Room was clean and updated in the last few years. Breakfast had a nice variety. Wish there was towels stocked more frequently in the pool area and that pool was slightly warmer and jets worked better in hot tub. Overall no issues though.

BED BUGS. Stayed two nights, saw one bug and the reaction (itchy hives) began before check out. The front desk staff was indifferent and said her manager would be in the next day and would check it then. No one has called. We thought they should know so they wouldn't put anyone else in the room before resolving the problem. She didn't seem to care. I feel sorry for anyone staying only one night as bed bug bites since I have now learned that reactions are often delayed for 2-14 days. Luckily my quick reaction meant that I knew to put everything in a garbage bag and wash it all when we got home.

Unfortunately when I woke up on our first morning there I had a bed bug running across my pillow. I have had to deal with those at hotels I’ve worked at. I went to the desk at 7:30 in the morning. They did give us a new room but…. Still paid full price

The property and rooms were very nice and clean. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. My only concern was that the bathtub was very slippery when wet and there was no bathmat to put down. A textured bathtub floor would be another good addition.

Newly renovated rooms, nice friendly staff. If seeking quiet, ask for a room away from Macleod as road noise can be loud all night long. Staff was great at switching my room when I asked for a change.

None of the tv channels worked, room was very bland and echoey. Elevators were very slow. Staff was nice, breakfast was ok. Could hear all the traffic outside the whole night as windows don't seal shut. Very expensive for what it is, and had to call to get my deposit back.

Noisy air conditioner and no way to control it. Mentioned to front desk as we were heading out for evening and all they said is come talk to me why you get back. We came back at midnight and nothing done and had to sleep in hot and noisy room. Rest of room was great and continental breakfast great.

Warning: If you book through Expedia and anything goes wrong, Holiday Inn will not accomodate. I was given the worst room in the hotel (near the lobby, shared wall with elevators and by the pool-loud) and the AC didn't work (in 30 degree weather). They were in my room late into the night trying to fix it to no avail and brought me a fan saying "we won't charge you for it this time". What? The AC was working the next day when I returned and my room was freezing cold, when I went to turn it down it started making a terrible noise that I'm sure noone could fall asleep to. I went to the desk and the hotel was sold out so they could do nothing for me. The lady at the front desk was kind but you could tell her hands were tied to do anything. Luckily I had a friend staying in the same hotel and just moved to her room so I could sleep on her terrible pull out couch. Even though I didn't sleep in my room, they would not issue any refund to me or through Expedia. I will never stay at a Holiday inn again and they didn't care. Nice facility- sadly, really unhospitable. When I called the manager the next day I was told she would call back in 20 min- she didn't. I called again today and she said there is nothing they can do because I booked through a 3rd party. My friend had a terrible time too. They wouldn't accept the company card to pay and our team memebers (staying at different hotel) had to come over THREE times before it worked. We have never had these things happen before.

The receptionist told a visitor my room number at 11pm and the person went in my room and took my 3 kids, took them out of the hotel at 11:45, the police had to get involved with a distress call and he was located to 1am and the kids were dropped off at 1:15am. I cried consistently as I was told the kids were dropped off, I asked the receptionist why you would let anyone upstairs without calling the room to confirm. He told me the person had a calm face and did not look like he could hurt anyone, that the person told him we were expecting him. This is weird and I have never seen something like this. The hotel is suppose to be a safe space away from home. We didn’t sleep all night, I am definitely suing them for this.

The hotel has just gone through a beautiful renovation. Our room was large! We were also quite close to the C Train to get downtown - because why would you drive if you can take a train?

Nice place overall. I like the breakfast area. Wireless chargers and a place to be outside your room. Very busy with teams and groups. Over crowed pool weekend and week days. Dumpster overloaded the 4 nights we were there. Rooms newly renovated but missing key elements. Great staff.

This whole experience started poorly when the hotel took payment with no authorization. I had selected the option to pay at property and they kept changing their minds on what the money was for and how much I owed. I checked the booking site and the actual hotel site for the "policies" they kept spouting and could find nothing. The rooms were nice and clean but the breakfast was very dissapointing as most days wed come down and there would be nothing available from the hot food section. The pool is nice but the hot tub jets were broken and there was never any towels available. I will NEVER stay here again.

Hotel was easy to find. Room was clean, very comfy beds, great pillows. Grandkids loved the pool and waterslide. Breakfast was good: hot food, bacon sausage, eggs, as well as the usual cereal, bagels, muffins etc.
