It was a great stay ….. but I think it was unfair that we rented a Room for our daughter’s birthday but couldn’t swim because the hotel rented the pool to other people for swimming lessons??? So maybe ask before you waste time and money staying if the pools being booked during your stay

EXTREMELY quiet in room. Building maxe is a but of an issue. No hot tub. Shower stall lacked ANY ledge or grab bar/towel rack. Phoning front desk was amajor annoyance:no "Can I put you on hold?" - immediately sent to muzak. Good breakfast selections.

The staff was amazing. Exes restaurant has a variety of excellent meals for very affordable prices. Room service took less than 8 minutes each evening and the hotel was sold out. Impressive. The rooms are modern and beds comfy. Blinds could use updating. The gym is adequate, treadmills need calibration but they were fine and I didn’t want to run outside alone early mornings. The spa on sight was also excellent. I had a fantastic Thai massage there. A 7 minute walk to the foothills athletic track which was why I was there. Perfect.

We’ve stayed before and enjoyed it so decided to stay again. One amenity we always look at is whether a facility has a pool (which this one does). However, we were informed at check in that it was closed for the duration of our stay. I inquired whether we would get a discount and was informed we would not and this was disappointing to put it mildly.

A good hotel thats fair priced. Love having underground parking for the motorcycles. Good location, espeically when you want quick access to get to the mountains. I was disappointed this time as the pool was reserved for a party. We had arrived to check in at around 730pm and were told we could not use the pool. there is no way we could have known the pool was booked in advance as that was our notice as soon as we checked in. Surprise notice! Other than that, it was a good place to sleep without breaking the bank.

Great hotel. Very busy. Not enough charging ability for EV however. They say noone asks for it but 2 EVs are currently charging in a 110 v in the reception area (where we have charged in the past). No block heater plug ins we could use either. Otherwise a great comfy bed, clean quiet room.

The food was poor quality. The hospital food is better . There were bugs in the room. A spider bit my daughter . We could not use the swimming pool because they rent it out . This is not stated for possible guests . The beds are awful, feels like a giant soft pillow . Will never stay here again or recommend.

Chose this location for easy access to the Ctrain and it was perfect. Small underground parking was easy to access. The exit alley from the hotel is gravel and was full of potholes; that's just my observation and didn't affect our stay. The hotel is secure. I liked the that hallway to the rooms on the first floor require a keycard for access. The rate included breakfast everyday and it was consistently very good. The lounge was a decent size and never too busy. Didn't use the pool, fitness center, or spa, but the people I saw there seemed pleased. The front desk staff were always friendly and very accommodating! Our bed was VERY comfortable and its something I've come to count on when staying at Aloft hotels. Another thing I've always had at Aloft is a good shower with a glass door. Ours was a good size, great water pressure, but had a plastic curtain. The corners of the tile floors were visibly dirty- that is why I marked "average" for cleanliness. This is a great location and I would recommend to others to give it a try in Calgary.

The hotel itself was ok. It's a renovated older hotel with some of the usual "Aloft" features added. But there were a few annoying things that would keep me from coming back. In general, I like the Aloft brand and all of their hotels I've stayed in, but they have all been new hotels. I think it was a mistake to add the Aloft brand to a pretty tired property. As for annoyances, the first was having to go back to your car to put a paper parking ticket on the dash. Come on! It's 2023 and there are much better ways to manage parking. Housekeeping was not great with visible dirt on the carpets and a large wad of someone else's long black hair on the shower wall (Ick!). The air conditioner under the window was very loud (again, a tired property). Finally, it was just an overnight stay as part of a road trip and I wanted to grab a coffee in the lobby before I left. The coffee machine was broken, with a big "out of order" sign on it. How hard would it have been to have a spare coffee machine, or bring in a couple of jugs from one of the many restaurants and coffee shops close by? A final reminder of a disappointing stay.

The property is very clean and well maintained. My room was clean and had a very modern astetic. Bed itself was very comfortable and smelled fresh. Bathroom area was also really clean and the toiletries supplied were of above average quality. Issues I had with the room were mainly tied to the layout, a table/shelf was block half the air conditioner which made the room cool down a lot slower, and my toilet was a bit too close to the wall making it a bit uncomfortable to use. Breakfast was included with my stay and the variety is what you would expect from most establishments and the taste was average to above average. On site facilities like the gym and swimming pool looked to be well maintained and clean, however I did not use them during my stay.

Loved the art deco interior! Very friendly staff - always greeted by desk when we went through the lobby. Very quiet - we previously stayed at adjacent hotels (Village Park and Holiday Inn) and while they've damped noise and vibration from the adjacent LRT track, you've eliminated it - well done! Will definitely stay there again.

Stayed for a recent Symposium. The 2 quuen bed rooms were spacious amd not cramped. The bathroom however is not an ideal set up for tall or broad people. Overall the room is older and hasnt been updated since I stayed in 2016. There are obvious maintenance oversights. If you are afraid of elevators you may stuggle. The main one from the lobby to parkade is not for the faint of heart. Location allows for easy access to resturants and attractions.

All staff were extremely nice, patient, and available. Bar food is good, hot breakfast was great every morning. Staff were attentive and hard working. Couldn't figure out how to order room service beyond walking out and asking the bartender for the food to go. Gourmet patry is meh-- not as stocked as in the pictures. Housekeeping came x2 over a 5-night stay, and forgot to restock some things the first time, but did a nice job. Room was very clean when we checked in. We had arranged for a king bed when I made the reservation a couple of months before, but there were none available when we checked in. Walls between rooms were thick, walls to the hallway were not. We kept our blinds closed the entire time because we faced the parking lot and had no privacy. At some point, someone was smoking outside, and it was strong enough in our room to trigger my asthma. The bathroom had a barn door and no lock. Water pressure was meh, temperature control was great. I believe they changed towels once over the 5 nights; one was very soft, but the rest were kinda crappy. Fridge made a constant high-pitched noise. Folks with sensitivity to such sounds should be prepared to unplug it or bring ear plugs. TV was very basic with kind of crappy sound. Wifi was reliable. There was only one nightstand/set of outlets between the two beds. Multiple lighting options in the room, but all a bit garish. Overall, it felt like it couldn't live up to the site, but seemed better than hotels aroundit

It was oddly weird. The decor was somewhere between art deco and 70's disco. Floor plan was all cut up like a maze trying to find your room. Rooms weren't ready at check in time. Will not be staying here again when there are so many other choices.

This has been the worst hotel ive stayed at in a long time. They honestly treat the guests like second class citizens. Will ignore guests to finish their own conversations, the least accomdating place ive encountered. If you can avoid spending a dollar at this place i would. They also rent out the pool to swimming schools and dont tell the guests

It was a good hotel as far as our stay. But there were ling drives to everywhere we wanted to go. It was good that we had a car. One Uber ride was almost $30. There was a McDonald's close by for my morning coffee but the first time ever in our world travels, it was not good.

Aloft Calgary University is a great spot close to the C train and relatively close major areas throughout Calgary ie downtown. The staff are warm and inviting while the hotel has all the amenities you could want including recreational activity. Just don’t get a room on the C train side! Loved my stay and will be back!

Our stay was excellent! From check in to check out. Super friendly and helpful staff, clean room, comfortable bed. The rain shower could have had more pressure but still was great. Great service in the restaurant. The complimentary breakfast had everything. We will definitely stay there again.

This was a nice hotel…but a bit overpriced. I booked through Expedia and requested two queen-sized beds and did the $10.00 upgrade that added parking and grab&go snacks. For some reason I received a king size bed and had to insist on receiving my voucher, which I did eventually receive. We found the hotel quiet, and our bed was comfortable. The included breakfast was a bit underwhelming compared to other “breakfast included” places we have stayed at. We ordered something to eat in the evening at the lounge/restaurant and of the nine of us eating only two gave a positive review on their meals. The hotel was okay, but a little overpriced in my estimation.
