Canadas Best Value Inn Chinook Station

Very disappointing experience. We were unexpectedly charged over $63 for allegedly stained towels without any prior notice. The towels were already old, and we did not stain them with anything. If there were marks, they may have come from the dirty floor after check-in but it wasn’t stained. The washroom and aircondition was in poor condition, and overall cleanliness was disappointing. We made sure to take a video of the room before leaving to document its condition. To make matters worse, there was no manager available to discuss or resolve our concerns.

Upon checking in, I was told the room I booked was having a “maintenance” issue where a door had fallen off so I was given another room. The other room was beyond gross, and smelled of dust and depression, not properly swept, random cigarette burn marks and copious amount of dust/debris down in the baseboard heaters. I went back to the front desk and told them I would not be checking in and would like a refund. They of course hid behind their policies and refused. The best way I can describe this entire property is “lipstick on a pig”, where the lipstick is from the dollar store, and the pig is about to die. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! Spend a little more and get a room from practically anywhere else.

Though they did some renovations, it didnt impress. No warm water for shower, tv didnt work, wifi couldnt connect.... though the clientele is much to be desired. It didnt feel safe between 11pm to about 6 am to leave my room. If it was safe, i wouldnt left and slept in my car. Please dont bring any minor children here.

Charged more than advertised for room, no breakfast as advertised, no room cleaning daily…was told I was on a 3day schedule…my room was cleaned once in 12 days. Mean and angry mgt. I’m not sure what kind of people have stayed here, but they don’t like their customers and expect the worst. Dirty, lists of rules, locked me out of my room at 2am cuz they wanted 100 to renew deposit??? No notice of that, just locked me out, all My stuff inside. Had to go ask for toilet paper since my room wasn’t being done, was treated like a criminal for it and told I was given enough. It’s not a good place anymore. Used to be cheap but clean and friendly.

The first room had hair n the bed, pubic hair and urine on the toilet set. The second room was visually clean but had a very strong smell of disinfectant. Night one was uneventful. Night two, we had no power for two hours, and no heat for the entire night. It was -30c. Also, the parking lot was not accessible because the sloped drives were icy, without any sand or gravel. Front desk refused a refund, refused a room change, and laughed when my wife asked for heat. This might be a great place for a junkie needing to find shelter but everyone else should stay far away.
