Had exceptional front desk service and service in the lounge. Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Room service was professional and energetic. Clean and comfy room. The spa was disappointing. We had massages booked for over 2 weeks and were not told the direct billing set up for our responsibility. This should have been a email that was sent to us that we didn’t receive via inbox or junk mail. This is the first time I have encountered this not being offered to be processes at the spa desk. The pool was also out of commission. We do not live in the city and it was a treat to have our stay. The service at the front desk was less than supportive with any options or even trying to assist with our billing. I was very disappointed in their lack of solutions for our massage billing and pool reason.

Historic hotel located right in the heart in DT Calgary. Clean, comfortable room with top notch service. Only issues are that the gym is too small and it would be nice if there were some more affordable parking options. But, despite these things, Iwould def stay there again.

We love the amenities at this hotel. Steam room, hot tub and pool ... very nice! Classy hotel. solid location as well. parking is a rip off $25 per day and that rate doesn't apply until 6:00 pm.

Misleading: Self parking was not with the hotel but a connecting parking lot shared by the Calgary Tower building. If you have some luggages with you, instead of as directed by the front desk to park at level 3, you will be better off go park at level 4 then find the green door and go in to take the elevator down to level 3 before you reach the connecting bridge back to the hotel. Parking at level 3 is mostly assigned to valet parking, which is $60 a day, the few self parking spots is by a tight space with a few steps or you will have to wiggle your way around the parking gate. Also, more importantly, when you exit the parking lot in the morning (4 out of 5 times) the gate do not open and you’ll need to call a number and wait for 15mins or more to talk to someone to open the gate! It’s frustrating, waste of time and inconvenient. When you complain to the hotel manager, they gave you one (out of the five) free self-park ticket, which it also did not work the next morning and have to call and wait for the gate to open! And expect train noise, it’s right beside the hotel and you’ll for sure hear it. Bring earplugs!

Three things took away what should be an automatic 5 star rating. One, wifi was extra until I called to clarify. In this day and age wifi shouldn’t be such an issue. Two the TV was on the side of the bed meaning you had to crane your neck to the side to watch a movie. It was completely unnecessary. Three, there were cleanliness issues and half drank stuff in the mini bar. None of this is a big deal, but if you want to be 5 star, you need to provide 5 star. Elegant lobby and close to everything. We had a nice one evening in Calgary.

Our stay at the Fairmont Palliser was very pleasant, but with a few minor issues. The room was clean and well appointed, but with some minor issues that made things slightly less than perfect -- wall switches did not control the lights (they had to be turned on/off with old-fashioned rotating switches), The bathroom was clean, but the shower/bath could not be set to only provide water to the shower, so large amounts of water were wasted as the tap released about the same amount of water as the shower head. Staff was friendly and courteous, but we waited a very long time for the maître d' at the in-house restaurant to show up to seat us, then a very long time for the waiter. Things of this sort... very good, just the little bit less than ideal.

Fairmont has a reputation and it shows. This property is immaculate and located in the heart of downtown. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and professional conduct from the staff. Everyone you came in contact with was friendly and helpful. Our room was tasteful. Big selling point is the comfort of the bed and pillows. Slept well every night. This property is a 10! Kinda of a shame we stayed only 4 days, will return

we expected Fairmont hotel but there was too dirty every where. mirror, window, shower booth, towels... it was bad experience. when i check out, i met manager and show the pictures. they said it will be refund everything. however, we got bad experience at Canada ever.

It’s an old hotel with small rooms. High ceilings but two beds makes for tight space and the shower diverter was sticky. I arrived late at night and they gave me a room beside the elevator when there were options, I know because once I went to the room, at 1:30 am I went back down and 15 mins later I was able to get a quieter room. Not so premium of an experience for a $1600 three night stay.

The facility completely failed to provide air conditioning, despite charging more than $2,700. Instead, they insisted that only a fan would be available, which led to severe suffocation and made the stay intolerable. This was by far one of the worst experiences of this trip. On the final day of my stay, the suffocating conditions triggered one of the worst migraines I’ve ever had.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly. The location was perfect. I was disappointed that wifi was not included and the options on TV were not great. The hotel is very old, which gives it part of its charm, but it was obviously old as the enamel on the bathtub was peeling.

The best part of the Calgary Stampede experience for us was the Fairmont Palliser. Unbelievable service! It was so nice to come in from the crowds and have the staff to foresee all your needs. I only mentioned to one person in casual conversation that it was our anniversary, and when we came home to our room that evening, there was a card and desert on our bed. Everyone from check-in to valet to housekeeping was top notch service.

The service was exceptional. After reserving my room on a third-party site, I was placed in a room that was too noisy (2d floor next to a train track). This was not intolerable on the weekend, but come Monday, there was constant traffic on the tracks starting at 05:00. When I mentioned this to the staff, they moved me to a room that was as far away from the tracks as possible. I ended up extending my stay. Room service was pretty fancy. The chef makes an amazing mushroom soup.

Overall, my 3-night stay was underwhelming. At no time did I feel special in any way - in fact when I called to inform them of my flight delay I was left on hold for 18 minutes; when I arrived at 1:00 the staff was basically here's your key see ya - no extra effort - keeping in mind I have informed them I been travelling with delays for 10 hours. In terms of the room - ok - but housekeeping cleans ALL DAY meaning it is VERY HARD to work from your room or take calls. If you are an international traveller be advised that children whether it is in the club lounge or lobby run around all over - while this may be the responsibility of the parent - staff do nothing to address the behaviour. If I had to choose in the future I would have to think hard before chosing a Fairmont property. Hope this helps

It was a beautiful old hotel that has been well maintained. It is in the heart of the city. Only 1-2 blocks away from a major mall and lots of restaurants. You can even walk to the river where there are lovely trails along the river side.

I paid 100 dollars for gold membership which included evening snacks, desserts and breakfast. But when we got there on time, some of the items in evening snacks were over and during the dessert time, there was not any desserts left. So we got a mango dessert which not great in taste. In the breakfast there were just potato wedges as a vegetarian option.

The Fairmont is grand and the main bar and reception area magnificent. We arrived early and had to wait a while before our room was ready. No problem…a drink at the bar and lunch a perfect interval. When the room was ready we alas found the shower broken and the hot tub out of action in the spa. At this point it wasn’t looking good. We spoke to reception and they couldn’t have been more helpful. We were moved to a better room, had some bar credit added and a personal apology from the manager. Mistakes happen, but it’s how you deal with them that counts. What we took away was a great time in a lovely hotel, with lovely staff. Would we return….100%…
