Fave hotel in downtown for value, amenities and location. Amazing location. So many great restaurants nearby. Pool is beautiful and year round. On site restaurants are great but the finer dining one (Yellow Door) is only open on weekends now. My go to and look forward to staying again next time I am in town.

Great experience and great staff. Only issue was the pool was closed Saturday for a wedding and we had planned to spend the day by the pool, communication would have been nice since this is why we booked. But otherwise great experience !

Check in staff member was great. Underground parking was clean and well lit. Room was clean but the headboard for the bed needs replacing. The finish was peeling off of it. Very nice having a balcony. Disappointed that there wasn’t a hot tub with the very cute pool area.

The hotel public areas are quite attractive and stylish. The winter pool and gym are quite small. My room was very comfortable and clean with pretty much everything I needed. I definitely appreciated the individually controlled thermostat and the excellent house-keeping. However, this is a noisy hotel in so many respects. There are two areas of major construction near the hotel which make a great deal of noise during the daylight hours. Not the hotel’s fault of course. One evening some guests participated in a party and made a great deal of noise in my hallway. The noise abated after I complained to front desk, but started again an hour or so later. These guests really felt entitled to make noise it seemed. Again not the hotel’s fault. No sleeping late at the Hotel Arts though when housekeeping does their work. Of course, housekeeping needs to do what they need to do, but it reflects on the hotel’s poor sound proofing. Additionally, there was an odd rumbling noise from the bathroom vent, most often in the morning. I wondered if it was from a laundry or trash chute. Don’t know for sure.

Room was covered in dust and the washroom towels had stains on them. Was my first time staying here might consider it my last as we had to dust off the tables and washroom counters. Keelie at the front desk was amazing though. She had the best customer service I had experienced at a hotel. Very kind an accommodating!! Thanks again for a good stay.

The staff here are wonderful. Everyone was pleasant to deal with and very helpful. The room itself had seen a bit of use but was clean. Some demolition was happening across the street which was a bit noisy. Overall a nice place to stay with a good location downtown.

We were very pleased with everything about our stay at the hotel. The staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel cleanliness was excellent. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Arts to family and friends.

This was a girls night away trip, which we did 2 years ago at this same hotel. This time around we really noticed how things were not well kept. Our room headboard was peeling, hairs found when we pulled back the sheets, soap on the wall of the shower. We were on the 6th floor and I don’t know if smoking is permitted but the whole hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and it would seep in under the door into our room. The pool was freezing!! We won’t be booking our next girls trip at this hotel. A 3 star hotel at best.

Great location - walkable distance to everything including 17th avenue. Pool was wonderful - loved eating and relaxing out there. Room was not the cleanest (e.g., around bedside table, couch).

Beautiful property, Beautiful art work all around, delicious food in the restaurant. Old sock was found behind the curtain in my room and tub needed deep cleaning. Housekeeping has to do better job cleaning

This was not what we expected for $325/night. It's like they took a bigger hotel room and cut it in half and encased a bathroom in glass with zero sound proofing. The sink is in the main room outside of the washroom, which is also awkward. For $325 I shouldn't have to listen to my partner go to the washroom. The ceiling and walls also had a frustrating amount of noise. Seemed like building operating noises but too loud to ignore and fall asleep. Hotel Arts needs to work on their atmosphere and think about perception of value.

The room was spacious, with a comfy bed, a big shower, and a modern desk/chair combo, and plenty of outlets. The pool was fun - I swam a lot, and then could relax right beside and drink some much-needed water.

Nice room but paper thin walls - can hear absolutely everything going on around you. When I checked in, I requested late checkout… the front desk lady asked her manager who said yes. This was obviously not recorded in the system because 3 different housekeepers tried to come into my room, and I kept saying I had late checkout. Then, I got a text from the hotel asking me why I was still in the room. Just disorganized. They ended up letting me stay, which was appreciated, but made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them, when they were the ones who said I could stay later when I checked in to begin with? Nice area though, and I would still recommend the property.

We’ve stayed there on several occasions and the rooms are OK. My feeling is they are in need of a refresh as they are a bit dated. The staff is excellent and friendly and very helpful.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent stay at this hotel. I paid an extra charge to upgrade to a "city view" room, expecting a pleasant view of the city skyline. Instead, I was assigned a room with a large air conditioning unit directly in front of the window, completely obstructing the view. Behind this unsightly piece of equipment, I could barely glimpse the city I paid extra to see. To make matters worse, the fan from the air conditioning unit was so loud that I struggled to get any sleep throughout the night. This experience fell far below my expectations for both comfort and value. Given these issues, I will not be staying here again, and I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Very expensive hotel and a very rundown room. Air conditioner was leaking on the carpet, carpet was soaked, room needed painting, shower tap was wore out, and the vinyl on the headboard was all peeled. There are much nicer hotels in Calgary for half this inflated price!

Beautiful clean property, the room was a great size very spacious. The area around the hotel has great dining and shopping and walkable. Downside is the noise in the hallways is very noticeable in the rooms. We could hear every door slam shut and loud talker throughout the night in the halls. The staff were so friendly, the lobby and restaurant were clean. Underground parking is secure.

Asked for a quiet room and was put directly across from the fitness center. In addition, the general manager at the front desk is quite possibly the most condescending rude staff member at any hotel that I have ever met in my 25 years of traveling all over the world I would not recommend staying here

We’ve stayed at hotel arts a few times and it’s always amazing. Rooms are great and it’s within walking distance to a lot of restaurants. However, the pool staff were chaotic. We were 15 minutes early to our reservation so we just waited by the pool. Keep in mind there were lots of empty tables because it was 11:15. We waited until 11:40 and saw others being seated so we inquired again about our table, they said someone will come get us. We waited 15 more minutes and asked again and they said the same so we ended up just telling them we were sitting at one of the tables that had been open the whole time. Then we had to ask twice for menus and ended up just getting our own. There was about 4 staff and it was not busy. I understand things happen so I would still recommend this place, just something was going on that day and the girls at the front seemed frazzled

Overall, my stay at the Hotel Arts was convenient, efficient and close to key sites I needed to visit will in town on business. It was also close to many excellent restaurants and cafés which was great. I found the pool space would have been much more enjoyable in the summer time, and poolside service was inconsistently available. Overall, it was a great independent option that wasn't right in the middle of the busy downtown core, but still easily accessible to the LRT, 17th Ave, Mission St. and other parts of the city.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The location is awesome if you are going to any event in the Saddledome, Stampede or BMO Centre since it's a 15 minute walk and you don't need to worry about parking. We went to two events and felt safe walking back at night. The hotel has a parking garage that is included in the rate, most other similar hotels in the downtown are I checked parking is additional. The staff is very friendly and attentive, they answered all our questions. Totally recommend this. I visited with my wife and our two teenagers.

This is a great boutique hotel. Book directly with the hotel, as you get a better room for the same price. The free parking, free bikes for use (with helmets), and excellent staff give the place a fun vibe. The pool with happy hour and appetizers is also a destination (not a lap pool though). The rooms are up to date, clean and with fridges, all within metres of some of the city's best restos and shopping. Great views of the Calgary tower in some rooms, plus windows that open!

Hotel was nice- I didn't spend much time in the hotel but it was clean, staff was good; the downtown area is sketchy at best so I didn't wander around after dark for safety reasons. Otherwise the stay was great and next time I'm attending something downtown I would consider staying again

Hotel was Ok. The room was nice but the view was overlooking the ventilation system on a roof below our room. Service was good and lots of great restaurants around but demolition was going on in front of the hotel. Also lots of sketchy people around. Would not walk alone in the evening.

Hotel is nice enough. There pre-paid breakfast policy is a joke. You pay $50 for breakfast. Usually that's it. What the $50 provides is a $50 credit towards breakfast. We ended up having to pay an additional $30 for our breakfast. Accountants carry the day, customers end up upset.

Hotel itself is an amazing experience, rooms are well appointed and clean. However the attached restaurant the "Yellow Door" has lost a step. We had a dinner and it lasted over 3 hours, we were constantly left waiting on drinks, and the tasting menu was lack lustre. Stay at the hotel arts but book elsewhere for food.

You definitely pay for the location. We paid for a balcony, figured maybe could sit out and have a drink or two… our balcony was a view of the cover of the pool and no chairs or anything. Definitely would have just gotten a standard room had we known. Then we had breakfast and parking included in our booking, but the girl checking us in had no clue. We just paid for valet parking and then asked about breakfast the next morning and were given a voucher. The breakfast wasn’t good, nor was service. The valet guy was great, though! So location for walking from the Saddledome is wonderful, but the rest of our experience wasn’t great for the money it cost.
