Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Can’t beat the location for walking to downtown, Lithia Park, shops, restaurants and, of course, the theaters. They even had an ev charger for our car, but after we charged it, we parked it and didn’t drive for the next 3 days.

The property doesn’t have even close to enough parking spots for the amount of rooms. We were told that we would just have to try to find a spot on the streets. This meant carrying our luggage down the street up a very steep driveway and up a flight of stairs because they don’t have an elevator. Also their street parking does not have proper lighting so felt a little unsafe. Also it is not dog friendly! Again had to go down stairs, down a steep driveway with no sidewalk on the side and limited visibility for cars pulling in. The room was also very crowded. We barely had enough space for a 10 pound dog!

After driving 5 hours and arriving in triple digit heat I was checking in. I asked if I could charge my car at recharge station which is up against a wall. I parked and plugged in. The person from the front desk asked me to move my car even closer to the wall so others could park. There was plenty of room on the other side of my car to park. They also said I said my own name wrong when checking in. The person I was with said I did not say my name incorrectly. I know it’s kind of petty, but it just wasn’t very welcoming especially when you’re spending nearly $300/night.

Excellent location, OSF and surrounding area is walkable. Amenities including the pool and spa, included breakfast, and mini-fridge are all very nice. Parking was the only issue, didn't seem to be enough but it seems everyone managed.

I stay here often when passing through Ashland. The location is perfect for waking to downtown. The rooms are nothing special but totally fine. The pool is tiny and close to the road but my kids still like that’s it’s an option. Basic breakfast is free. Mostly it’s the amazing location- a few steps from tons of great restaurants and Lithia Park- that makes this place a gem.

It’s an older hotel that has been nicely maintained. Beds were comfortable and the air worked well to keep us cool. We spent an afternoon in the pool and hot tub soaking our bones! The location was fantastic! Very safe feeling area within close proximity (walking distance) to Lithia Park and all of the cute shops and restaurants downtown.

We were really excited to stay at this property for a fun weekend in downtown Ashland. Unfortunately, upon checking in late at night we found bedbugs. We immediately let the front desk know and they did return our money, but we had to find a different hotel at 1 AM in the morning, which cost us an additional $200 for the last minute booking. It also meant that we were no longer in downtown Ashland so we were all the way across town and had to pay for Uber to get back-and-forth. We did contact the owner/manager to let him know that we did want some sort of compensation, but unfortunately, he tried to argue the fact that we had even had bedbugs, even though we had taken pictures and shown staff, This was super inconvenient not only do we have to pack all of our items up at 1 AM in the morning and stay at a much more expensive hotel last minute, but the staff didn’t seem to even care or want to do anything to compensate us for our troubles. In fact, the owner seemed bothered by the fact that we were even bringing up the Bed Bug situation. Totally unprofessional and will never recommend or stay at another one of these locations again.

The room was very clean. The check in staff was friendly and thorough. There were a lot of breakfast choices available. The only area I gave it a 3 is the room itself. It was definitely dated, and the balcony sliding door didn’t lock. It had a wooden dowel on the inside so someone from the outside could not open it. However, the bed was very comfortable.

Quaint little hotel on the edge of historic downtown Ashland. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Loved the proximity to restaurants, shops, and Lithia Park. My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin - we could hear our neighbor's alarm go off in the morning. But, other than that, it is generally quiet, a nice place to stay, and a great value. We will likely come back.

This property needs an upgrade. However for the price and location it seems appropriate. We did not have hot water in our room, it was lukewarm. That was a deal breaker. I let the front desk know and they would investigate. The beds were pretty squishy and uncomfortable. However, I love the location and staff. And the price was reasonable.

Everything was great except the bed was the WORST bed I've ever slept in! Room 792. It sagged in the middle and was uneven and lumpy. Felt like it was a REALLLLLY old bed. It was also squeaky.

Such a cool location, aimed towards visitors to the Oregon Shakespeare festival (performed in theaters a short saunter away), but also lovely any time of year! Clean, convenient amenities, elegant furnishings and decor, and a large bathroom and large mirrors extra helpful for those dressing up for the theater. It was pouring rain when we visited, so we didn't use the outdoor pool or sauna, but the complimentary breakfast was great, and had lovely open dining areas. Note: not all buildings are connected to the breakfast room and pool, so just be aware that you may have to cross the street in your swimsuit if your room is located in an outer building. We actually preferred to be in the further building (with a cool balcony!) It's not a far walk at all, and anyways we were that much closer to Mix Bakery, Creekside Pizza, and Lithia Park. However they can often provide a room in the main building, away from the street, upon request. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we hope to stay here again soon.

After staying at another less expensive property in Ashland, Bard’s was a let down in every way. First it was a motel, which we were not expecting. There are several different complexes and it is hard to tell what you have booked. Second, we did not have hot water for our shower. When we called it in, we were told “yea, that happens when we are full. The whole building shares one water heater so that’s as good as it gets.” The rooms were cold and the bedding was sparse. On the positive side, location was superb and staff were friendly. But honestly there are much better options in Ashland.

Bard's Inn is very conveniently located and the rooms are quite nice, esp for a 2 star hotel, but this hotel's reservation line is one of several third party reservation services. When you think you're calling the property directly you're not. The third party service made a major mistake with our reservation and the supposed manager was rude to us when we were unhappy about all three of us being jammed into one king bed room when we had requested two double queen rooms. I didn’t appreciate the nasty-tude and will not stay here again.

We love the Bard's Inn. It's so convenient for walking to the areas in Ashland that we like to visit. We had a mix up with one of our room reservations this time and the staff were very helpful in sorting it out. Our only concern was that we left our ipad behind when we left and it wasn't turned in to lost and found. We are still hoping it will be found.

The Bard's Inn is a delightful place to stay in Ashland. We stayed in the Sonnet building and could not have been more pleased. The room was clean, nicely decorated and quiet. The bathroom was large and convenient for two people to get ready. The breakfast room was also very clean and inviting with plenty of options. The hotel's proximity to downtown shops, restaurants and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival could not be more perfect. We were able to easily walk to everything and left our car parked during our entire stay. We will definitely be back to The Bard's Inn!

I booked my reservations at The Bard's Inn via Expedia the week before I arrived. But when I got there, the desk guy said he couldn't find the reservation. Eventually after I showed him the Expedia confirmation he was able to locate it, but the situation was fairly uncomfortable. He mentioned that Bard's Inn often had problems with Expedia reservations, but that seems off somehow -- I have never experienced this before, and if it's true then it points to the fact that BW needs to update their system and take the necessary steps to make this process actually work. So there was that. The room was pleasant enough, inasmuch as it was clean -- but it was nevertheless dark and gloomy. I wouldn't call it cheerful or bright in any way. But it was OK. Pool area was nice, but the underground parking area had an exceptionally low clearance and many of the parking stalls were occupied with construction equipment and other debris that made parking difficult and congested. And then there was breakfast. Ahhhh breakfast. Although it was typical of BWs in the $100 range, at the price point of The Bard ($165 per night) one might expect some personal touches; not simply the usual Wilcox plastic-wrapped hard-boiled eggs and floppy mechanically made pancakes from the machine ("Watch Your Pancake Here!"). Packaged muffins and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches in a cooler. No apple juice. Just completely lackluster in all respects. So. Ashland is nice, but I have yet to find my Ashland Hotel.

Just returned from my 3rd stay at the Bard's Inn and it will not be the last. I absolutely love everything about this hotel. The location is prime. Very close to downtown shops and restaurants 1-3 minutes. 5 minute walk to Lithia Park. Staff is very friendly. Extremely quiet. I saw other guests but I didn't hear a peep from them the entire time from within my room. I traveled with 2 children this time around and they loved the pool and breakfast options. I've also stayed here solo and with my husband. It offers something for all travelers. I feel extremely safe and secure. The rooms are clean and as photographed. Parking is plentiful and secure. Highly recommend. Looking forward to my next stay already!

Unfortunately, the room next door had a party until 3am. We called the desk 4 times for noise complaint but they did nothing during the night. Front desk was gracious to move our room the next day but we endured a sleepless night the first night. Once moved our stay was great. Better training for the staff on how to actually handle a noise complaint.

It was clean. Room was small but had everything we needed. "Continental breakfast" was a lot more than "continental". Nice ham and cheese muffin sandwiches, yogurt, cereals, bagels, pastry. Plenty to fortify us for 5 hours of driving.

This was such a fun quirky place to stay. They take pets - we were traveling with our cat. The entire place is themed with a renaissance theme down to the stationary. There were some dated fixtures but the room felt super homey and was very clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet. We barely heard anyone which was refreshing. You can tell that the staff members care about the property. The pool and hot tub looked inviting. The breakfast was better than we were anticipating. Fresh pancakes! Fresh eggs and sausage. Coffee, juice, milk, bagels, cereal, yogurts. It really had something for everyone. Only small downside was the bathroom. It was cold and the shower didn’t heat up all the way. We didn’t spend that much time in there … because it was the bathroom. We would totally stay again. We loved how walkable everything was. There are many dining options and shops nearby.

This is a nice location to stay to explore downtown Ashland and to be your base for attending plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival complex; it's about a 7-minute walk. It is also convenient to many restaurant choices and other downtown activities. As a property, it is a pretty typical Best Western experience, average quality rooms, lousy cheap breakfast and plastic cups in the rooms...no glassware. The plastic cup use has to go for environmental reasons, and...guests should never have to drink their beverages out of a plastic cup wrapped in plastic film. At the prices BW is charging, they need to bring back re-usable decent quality glassware.

From the easy check-in process to the personalized maid/cleaning service to the complimentary breakfast that was surprisingly good and had many choices for us, The Bard’s Inn was the perfect lodging place for our return to Ashland after a long absence. We will definitely book a room again this fall when we plan to return for the rest of the plays OSF will offer. Thanks for a truly pleasant stay!
