We made a error in booking the hotel refused to refund or allow us change the date story below. This isn’t just disappointing, it’s flat-out bad customer service. While traveling to Columbus, we decided to stop for the night, found a spot, and booked it. When the confirmation came through, it showed the date as Tuesday, the 11th, instead of the 4th. Within 10 minutes, I called the hotel, but they told me to contact Hotels.com, who in turn said they’d need to talk to the hotel. This wasn’t a cancellation request—it was simply fixing our mistake made minutes earlier. I could understand if it had been days later, but this was immediate. At first, the rep claimed nothing could be done until I pointed out the timing. Then they agreed to try calling the hotel, which didn’t make sense since I booked through Hotels.com, not directly. The rep should have explained the situation to the hotel and tried to change the date. Once it turned out the hotel was full, they should have reached back out to help us book somewhere else and applied the points from the mistaken booking, then followed up after speaking to the manager. We ended up booking another hotel through Hotels.com ourselves. Since the manager wouldn’t waive the charge, the company should have contacted me to say a refund wasn’t possible but offered the equivalent value in rewards points as a gesture of good service.

Hotel overall wasn't horrible, but the fact that the shower had some stray hairs in it didn't really give me much confidence in overall cleanliness of the room. (Unfortunately didn't notice until the morning after my stay.) Also, the fact that the staff let a loud group roam around the first floor from midnight to 1am definitely was not great. Breakfast was not all that great. Juice machine did not work at all. Eggs were your standard hotel eggs. Sausage was basically soaking in grease. It was enough to get me through the morning, but something I would consider skipping if I wanted something food. Overall a decent stay, but definite can use a little work.
