I travel with a service dog and there is a good size area in back to walk her. The beds were comfortable and I enjoyed the walk in shower which all had been updated. It was a pleasant stay.

A classic old school motel in town, close to the National Park. The room was small, but clean and recently refurbished. Parking was tight and limited. Seemed a bit overpriced for what it was. I slept great on my one night stay. That's what I was there for.

I stayed here with 8 of my friends while we visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We loved the fire pit and the central location. It perfectly fit our needs.

What a wonderful find! Great little motel…comfortable beds and clean rooms….but the staff wins the day!! Kara was amazing and had tips for meals and knew the area well. They have cheese, water and snacks in the lobby as well as toaster pastries. We really enjoyed the fire pit where we sat in the evening and had a drink and shared stories with other guests…can’t wait to go back!!

Great newly updated and renovated motel. Nice yard area and fireplace with Adirondack chairs on the property. Nice grab and go breakfast and snacks in the lobby. Also nice to have ice machine and hot and cold water machine as well as coffee and tea available all day in the lobby. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our four day stay would definitely stay again.

We didn't use it but there was a nice outside area with a gas fire pit. Staff was very helpful and responsive. The muffins, bars, creamer, spreads and yogurt were of good quality. It is a small old fashioned motel lodge that has been nicely redone. One of the few places with reasonable rates. I will stay there again the next time I can go to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

Its a great option for an amazing price. Very comfortable bed and decent size room. Each room has a little patio set out front. Good options for breakfast. Very cute fire pit area and very walkable options for dinner. Overall worth the price.

Very average room, not worth the high price per night. The room was very small. The floor felt very dirty, like it was grainy and needed to be mopped. There were 2 of us and only 2 pillows provided unlike the 4 usually provided for multiple travelers. I thought there was only 1 towel as that was all we saw in the bathroom, it wasn’t until we left that I saw the other towel essentially hidden under the sink in the main room. Additionally one of the towels looked to have hair in it from a previous person which really grossed me out. We were glad we were only staying a single night. The door also felt very flimsy and like it could have been broken into very easily.

Place looked filthy and was dirty inside and out. There were underwear and socks still in the room when we arrived. I’m not sure the bathroom had ever been cleaned. Check in clerk was not friendly and didn’t seem to care much at all.

This was a good place to crash for a couple of nights that didn't break the bank. The grab & go breakfast was a nice touch. The rooms have been recently redone, which was great. The bed was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was nice and the shower got hot and had great water pressure. Appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Location was decent; near things but a little bit on the outskirts of town. I would stay here again. However, I do have one complaint, and other reviews have commented on this as well- but the the floors were extremely dirty. That was really the only issue of the whole stay, but the floors really did seem gross. If this establishment could make sure to clean the floors well in between guests, that would go a really long ways.

Cute redone hotel. The rooms are clean, but oh so tiny. I had a full size suitcase that had zero place to open up except the bed. The bathrooms are also super tiny. For a night, the room was fine. Bed was very comfortable. This is the third time I have stayed here and will stay again.

Great place to stay! The internet could be faster. The room used Roku on the TV to log into your streaming services and was buffering A LOT the night I stayed there, so I just ended up watching something on my phone. Still giving it 5 stars because I can overlook something like that.

If you plan to stay here, ask for a room number in the teens which are farthest from noisy street. Also no sound proofing between the rooms. Check in at 5:20 pm was easy with SMS text instructions, but even in the day I never found any staff, only a sign they were away. I saw cleaners but they never came to my room...maybe just clean and replace towels efc after check out. The TV is a Fire TV system with apparently inadequate bandwidth or speed as there was lots of buffering and occasionally dropped the signal so you had to start over. Very clean when I arrived and convenient to the National Park.

It is conveniently located just outside of town. When there was a mistake as to picking up the key, the issue was quickly resolved. The one thing that we could not overlook was the substantial downslope in the floor, running from the door to the bathroom. My elderly mother with a bad knee and back had a hard time navigating the room because the slope was significant.

The property has been recently updated and the furnishings are very modern. Way more power outlets and USB charger ports than most motels. The shower was awesome, too. The service at check in was hilariously bad, though. When I arrived, about 3:30, there was nobody at the front desk, but a sign said "we've stepped away, so call us at this number and we will be right there." No problem, I thought. So I called the number. I heard a phone ring behind the desk and then my call went to voicemail. The message said, "This user's mailbox is full so you can't leave a message." Well okay then. I didn't know what to do so I just sat in the lobby. Eventually three employees showed up. One knew what he was doing, one was a trainee paying mild attention, and one wandered off silently.

Owner was unsympathetic and inflexible in accommodating a change in a reservation due to flight cancellation due to a hurricane. I ended up losing one night stay. Even though my reservation was non refundable/changeable exceptions for dangerous weather should be made. I was just asking for a shift in my arrival date. Poor customer service for sure. All other facilities I stayed at during this vacation were able to make an exception. Flexibility for these type of situations should have been honored.

We stayed here as part of a longer trip. The rooms were recently updated and the beds were comfortable. Best of all, the service was excellent! Anything we needed, they took care of quickly. Extra pillows, utensils, etc. I would definitely recommend staying here if stopping in Montrose!

I’ve stayed here a couple of times. They’ve done a great job updating an old fashioned roadside motel. Never see staff in the lobby when I go here. All check in is by lockbox.

Reservations for a king bed, confirmed, then told via phone call there was no king available. We had been changed to a queen. When we arrived, we were given a room key. The room was occupied by someone already with their personal items in room. We had to find and alert staff, then told there were no rooms. After several phone calls, offered a different room without credit or compensation. Very unsafe situation when entering an occupied space, without the guest knowledge. Not sure we’ll stay there again.

The only problem we had was no one was at the front desk around 4 pm, indicated call the front desk which i did and the phone rang right in front of me and the mail box was full so you couldnt leave a message. I had to write a note and someone called me back and left our key in a lock box a short time later.

My mother and I had a wonderful four night stay in August. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The outside gas fire box was nice in the evenings.The staff was extremely accomdating, helpful and friendly. We send a special thank you to Patrick. He went above and beyond with his customer service.

We had a great stay here and can't believe what great value it was. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was good. Faciliites in the room were decent with a microwave and fridge. The place has clearly been refurbished relatively recently, so don't pay attention to any older reviews you might read. The service from manager Clinton and the other staff was great (and Clinton's little dog is very cute). Grab-and-go breakfast is obviously limited, but it's nice to have as an option if you don't want to go elsewhere. The location is on the eastern edge of town, but all the restaurants and bars in town are easily walkable within about 15 minutes. It's very handy for the Black Canyon NP, which just is a short drive away.

Road noise is inevitable but having the air conditioning on helps. It's an excellent motel but it is a motel-- no hallways and your car is right outside your door. There's a great coffee shop a few minutes' walk from the motel and a restaurant next door. It's easy walking distance to the town.

It was clean and fairly quiet. Needed cups in the bathroom, a soap holder in the shower, the bathroom light switch was on the outside of the room. No place to put toiletries in the bathroom. If you a diabetic the breakfast was non-existent. This place is not a 8.8 rated motel

Its a great option for an amazing price. Very comfortable bed and decent size room. Each room has a little patio set out front. Good options for breakfast. Very cute fire pit area and very walkable options for dinner. Overall worth the price.
