Courtyard Kansas City Overland Park / Convention Center

The extra charge for parking was irritating. If I am already paying to stay, I should not have to pay for parking also. This hotel is not in a downtown area where parking is sparse.

I have stayed at multiple Courtyards by Marriott. This was by far the worst I’ve stayed at. To start, the reason I chose this hotel was because I was taking my 5 year old nephew on a trip for his birthday. The only thing he cared about was that the hotel had a pool and hot tub. The hotel specifically advertised that it had an indoor hot tub. The hot tub was permanently closed. The hot tub was half way filled with a dirty yellow substance. Also the inside pool was very cold! To top it off, our room had 0 wash clothes. I called down 2 times and nobody ever delivered them. The toilet did not properly work and would not flush toilet paper. I will never stay here again. Very disappointed.

The associate that checked us in was extremely inviting and professional. His whole personality was nice and welcoming. The room was nice as well. My only recommendation for improvement would be to repair the hot tub and the pool could have been cleaner.

Loved the hotel, just hated that we had to pay for everyday we were parked there.

The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and the room was so spacious, clean, and comfortable! And yeah, the bistro in the hotel is a little pricy, but the food is really delicious. Only downside to me is that the hot tub was out of order.

The air conditioner did not work well and we reported it to the staff a couple times. I had turned it down to 54 and did not cook the room that well. No garbage bags in the cans, there are glasses for drinking and they were very dirty. The pool looked merky. The staff was pleasant but I don’t feel like they checked t the air conditioner like I had asked.

I found the front desk the best i have encounted a long month long trip with my wife who has mobility issues. I think her name was Serena, sorry if got it wrong bent over backwards for us. Loved that hotel had a washer and a dryer. Nice gym but pool next to it chlorine smell was heavy in the room.

Hotel was clean and smelled nice. I dislike having a wash basin area outside the bathroom. Also, paying for parking in a regular non covered parking lot is absurd.

Hot tub not working, kids in pool not with adult and throwing football around and jumping in pool. Attendant came and added towels and never glance at pool they were playing on handicap chair.

Staff was friendly & rooms were clean

I woke up the first night to ants in my bed. The third night they had taken over my cup on the table. GROSS! Also housekeeping came in on Thursday and left sheets and towels and pillowcases as if no one remembered to pick up. They left drink cups in the garbage. The facility itself was dirty and dingy. I asked for 2 extra blankets the first night and got one. Only one washer/dryer on site. Never available. Staff was friendly but overall just an awful experience!

My room was not updated - no USB ports; carpeting old/dirty. Ironing board needs new cover, hairdryer needs updated. Floor was very cold and room temp cold - needed to call front desk to get temp regulated.

I stayed 6 days for a conference at the Convention Center. My room was supposed to be cleaned every other day, but never was cleaned while I stayed there. I stayed in room 236 and the hand towel rack above the sink kept falling off the wall. I ran out of kleenex which was never resupplied. I also ran out of coffee for the coffeemaker.

They were super friendly and kind. Elevators sound a little scary. Can definitely hear people talking as they go past the rooms but Overall a good experience and will be booking with them again.

Stayed for a work trip, it was centrally located. But unaware from the website that there is a $10 a day charge and breakfast is not included. There are other options a couple blocks away where the breakfast is included. The biggest issue wasn’t the parking or no breakfast, it was the pictures from the site. That is not this hotel and my tub was dirty and the pillows just were gross. The wallpaper was peeling and the water was either scolding hot or cold. No in between. I would stay a block up the road in the future

Nice place, great staff. I forgot to tell front desk my room had some sugar ants on the night stand. Breakfast is overcharged for the quantity.

The stay was good; however, my grandson found a carpet beetle in his bed when he woke up.

Quiet location with plenty of food options and grocery stores within 10 minute drive. Clean and comfortable.

The layout of the room is not comfortable and for that reason, I would not return. The TV is at an angle to the bed that makes watching it hard on the neck.

The room I booked was to have a tub/shower combo … it didn’t! I like to have a tub!

The only issue is that they have unnecessary outdated alarm clocks in the rooms. Looking so forward to waking without an alarm was wonderful only to have an alarm go off at 4:50am. In a fog I grabbed it and it went off. Apparently I hit the snooze so after dozing off, it went off again, so I moved around and pulled the plug out. after 10 mins or so, it went off again because there are batteries that have a screw that holds the batteries in, so I had to put the lights on and find the way to shut the alarm. After that I couldn't fall asleep and was really angry. In these times, EVERYONE has cell phones. TAKE THOSE ALARMS OUT OF THE ROOMS!!! If someone requests one, have them come down to the lobby and get one and have the maids remove it when they leave.

the rooms had no usb ports-had i known would have brought adaptors-the bed was parallel to the television screen had to watch tv sideways-huh?--there were absolutely no local channels, no guide, no way know what was on.The pool was clean and empty of people-awesome! Stopped at a local taco joint and brought nachos---great food but the room had only one chair-we took turns-won't go back but these are NOT serious complaints

The room was very clean and the housekeeper was very kind. The staff in charge of the kitchen was rude. Went down to get a beer which was right behind the counter in a fridge. There was one customer in the area who had already gotten his drink. The attendant came out and said in a gruff tone, “what do you want because it’s going to be 15-20mins before I get to you.” I replied “I’d just like a bottle of corona.” They replied “that’ll be like 20mins.” I decided not to wait because it wasn’t worth the one bottle that was directly behind the counter. The front desk saw the entire situation and I told the front desk that they had poor customer service. He offered to get me 2 beers on the house but refused to give me corona. I told him they had corona over in the bar area. He said I can get you a different beer but not corona. I declined the offer. Also, when we booked it said breakfast was included but that is not true. You have to order from their menu and pay. It’s not a continental breakfast like advertised. The prices are just as much as going to a restaurant and with the service we got the night before with the beer we decided to go dine out instead.

The biggest surprise was the change in parking issues. This is the midwest - Kansas City - and this is the first time we have been asked to pay for parking in their own lot, via a third party app. It was easy enough- but an issue if you do not have a smartphone. Just be forewarned.

We had to have a late check in and they were very accommodating.

the room was outstanding, clean, no odor, everything very accessible sink area could use more counter space, As for the staff, I have a walker, the front desk manager, Kim Wiggins noticed that i was having difficulty with a cab ride to the medical convention, she came over asked if she could help, on her own paying attention to the room and guests in the entire rea, I was hesitant, but she said she would see what she could do, soon the manager, Laura Griffith came over, and offered to take me, I was amazed, Not only took me but picked me up, and finally dropped me over a third time refused compensation. I am amazed, both were pleasant, engaged, and helped me out in a really important event for me. I have stayed at Sheraton prior, but my choice, will be Marriott from now on. I will tell anyone Marriott is the go-to destination' My daughter in law works for Creative Planning in Overland Park after my stay finished, I informed her if she has any out-of-town guests, she must use your facility. Easy and friendly checkin

Every year I bring my severely autistic nephew to the Marriott for his bday party cause he loves this hotel. He is now 18 and still wants to come!! Every year the front desk person Corey is the most accommodating person to us as my nephew can be loud at times. Corey is kind and always interacts with my nephew and makes him feel so special!! Corey is definitely the heart of Marriott and I thank him so much for making my nephews birthday the best ever again this year!! Also hotel as always was clean and beds were comfortable! Highly recommend!!

Hotel was great, friendly staff and all. Nothing within walking distance of any help or interest to make the stay any better. Only food available unless you uber or drive is at the bistro (which is tasty) or lobby desk tariffed with airport pricing. 12 bucks for a breakfast sandwich. 5 bucks for a bottled tea.

Great location for doctor’s appointments. Easy access to Children’s Mercy and University Of Kansas Health Systems - Indian Hills. Just wish we didn’t have to pay for parking…when we had appointments first thing in the morning.

The breakfast they provided was awful. Scrambled eggs were brown, muffins stale. Overall for the price was it was sad. Employees were very nice and helpful

great place to stay and visit Kansas City. I always enjoyed a cocktail at night in the lounge. Breakfast options are limited but Starbucks 1 mile away. easy access to interstate so visiting attractions in the city area are not difficult.

The room and facility was quiet and clean. Noticed the room could have had a little more vacuuming. Also question about breakfast, thought it was included in the stay. Also first time I’ve ever stayed at a motel and had to pay for parking.
