Nice clean and tidy hotel which was very comfortable and located right next to a Subway, which you couldn’t hear in your room. Only thing is there are only 2 elevators servicing up to the 18th floor. Had to wait 10 minutes for a lift when checking out with the luggage as lifts were full from those above.

The location is the best thing about this hotel, so close to everything. The staff was fantastic as well, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is just FINE not great, not terrible. Our bathroom fan was not working (if there was one) and there was mold above the tub on the ceiling. The quality of things in the room were all only just ok, thin TP, useless shampoo and body wash, not soft sheets, flat, lame pillows. I would not stay here again unless it gets a renovation or update

The room had issues. Bathroom sink was cracked, the toilet paper holder was broken and as soon as you touched it the roll would fall off, the toilet seat was cracked underneath, the room had about a 6 inch area of black mold on the ceiling to the left of the window but not next to the window. I had to ask a couple of times for more wash cloths as the housekeeper had none on her cart but there was a cart farther down the hall. I asked if she could check it and she found more washcloths. The housekeeper did a good job of cleaning but with mold, etc.... the room was not ready for customers to spend that much money.

We had booked for 3 nights and only stayed 1. We got there at 1am and it was too late to go anywhere else. The rooms are very old and dirty. The door locks are flimsy and unsafe. We slept on the beds without taking our clothes off that’s how disgusted we were. Bathroom had no towels. We left and checked in to The Plaza.

Our room was not cleaned daily. As a matter of fact, we stayed for 5 nights and our room was only cleaned once. They leave a cart of towels in the hall for people to brag but it was often empty so we had to reuse towels but there aren't any towel hooks in the bathroom. Also, there was mildew all over our bathroom.

The location is great for walking to Central Park, Broadway and Times Square. The subway is right next to the hotel, which makes everything easy. The staff were all fantastic, but the hotel is in need of updates. The door to my room (453) had gouges in it like someone took a hammer to it, and a strip of carpet was torn up just inside the door. All things being considered, I would stay here again.

No bathroom light and we didn’t have enough towels. There were 4 of us in a room and it felt very crowded. The beds were too close to the wall preventing amble walking space. The location is perfect though! Times Square and Central Park were just a few minutes walking!

Location was great. Room is EXTREMELY small for a family of 4, not even tall people. Room was cramped honestly, had 1 suitcase and 3 regular sized backpacks. Trouble sleeping as there was honking and traffic throughout the night. Stayed here years ago… very different from then.

The rooms need work. Bathroom door was fraying at top and bottom, entire bottom of backlit mirror was decomposing and not lit. There was a great deal of drywall dust in the corner from what appear to be recent attempts at renovations on the ceiling. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. It was quiet. It just needs some help aesthetically. Staff were very friendly.

The person at check-in who gave us our room number was rude and annoyed by my questions. The bathroom wasn’t too clean. The blow dryer had tons of old dust in it and on it. We had gone early to see if our room was ready and waited in line for about 20 minutes or so because there was only one person at the counter. They didn’t have a room ready early but guaranteed our room to be ready at 4. The woman was nice to still take care of checking us in and all we had to do was come back and get our room number and key. When we got back we had to wait in line again for 30 minutes this time to find out the room facing the street we wanted wasn’t ready so we had to take a room that was available.

It was nice, quiet, and clean but the hotel mangers are absolutely the most unprofessional I’ve ever dealt with. The hotel had a new computer system and had no idea who was in what room and what rooms were available so we didn’t get the room we booked and were offered no refund until MULTIPLE calls to the hotel and Expedia and then FINALLY after almost 3 weeks of fighting and arguing we got 1 nights refund although we were told we would get our whole trip refunded which we didn’t ask for or expect but deserved something due to the complete lies and horrific service

I booked Park Central Hotel for a one-night stay in June. After a long trip into the city, my friend and I arrived to find out the hotel could not accommodate us due to a flood on our floor. We were never contacted in advance—no call, email or anything— despite our check-in being after 3 or 4 pm and them saying the “flood” happened in the early afternoon when we arrived after 5pm. The front desk handed us a printed sheet with the name of a different hotel, saying it was a local upgrade. Unfortunately, it was located across the city and far from our plans—an hour walk or 30-minute drive. When I expressed that this wouldn’t work, the staff and manager became dismissive, disrespectful and unhelpful. We were offered a small amount of cash for a cab that barely covered one direction. I was told a refund would be processed, but it never was. I called several times and was promised a call back, which I never received. Expedia also said they couldn’t help since the hotel marked it as resolved, even though we were never allowed to stay there. Thankfully, we found a wonderful last-minute option at The Jewel Hotel, but the experience at Park Central left us feeling disregarded and stranded. I would not recommend booking here based on how the situation was handled.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel, will never stay again. We travelled as a family of 4 (two young kids). Booked the room 8 months in advance and arrived at 8.30pm, after 12 hours of travelling, to be told our room wasn't available. Past the initial surprise of this, what was more shocking was the blunt and rude nature of the staff. With zero empathy they wanted us to walk around for 2 hours or check in to one king size room. In addition there were not enough towels in the room we eventually did get, the hotel bar was dirty, luggage check took half an hour and were awoken on two different night to noisy rooms. Seriously, every front of house member of staff were appalling in nature (cleaning and luggage staff were lovely), we couldn't believe how we treated throughout. Whereas all other hotel staff on our trip, and general people in NYC, were welcoming and polite. In summary, all this place has to offer is great location. Everything else is no way near the value you have to pay to stay here.

Took forever to get checked in, and my room wasn’t available for an extra hour. Asked for extra pillows 3 days in a row - never received them. We went there to stay for the NyC marathon. I had booked the hotel 9 months in advance. Once we got there we were told they didn’t have a room for us and they were moving us to a hotel down the street. We were adamant we did not want to switch hotels as we had all of our plans set up through park central. They did not care, nor did anyone email, call or text us any information that we would NOT be able to have a room for the time we reserved. After we had already paid for parking etc. they charged us for the 2 rooms at the other hotel, which they were not supposed to for November 1st. Then they charged us and additional $700 for the night of 11/2, which my husband was able to get $300 off after speaking to the director of the hotel. We have not received credit for the initial night ($1263), and we are disputing those charges on our credit card. We have stayed at Park Central about 10x over the last couple of years and this was by far the worst customer service we ever experienced.

We have stayed at Park Central about 10x over the last couple of years and this was by far the worst customer service we ever experienced.

This hotel was overbooked and unfortunately the hotel did not handle the situation well. After a delayed flight, and a long trip into Manhattan from the airport. I arrived around 2am and was surprised to see approx. 15-20 other guests waiting in the lobby. It was evident that many had been there a while and no Park Central staff were at the Front Desk (or anywhere in the lobby). Many guests, including myself tried to contact Park Central staff via phone. Most of the phone numbers rang for a long time until someone finally picked up. I was informed that someone should be there soon. After some time, an employee came out and informed us that the hotel had been overbooked and handed out a letter to most of the guests. I didn't get any explanation, but was informed me that I needed to go to another hotel nearby. Any questions I had were met with "I'm just the messenger". Once I arrived at the second hotel, the checkin desk was also confused as what to do with the letter. I eventually was checked in, however this hotel was not similar in quality or location. I also had problems with the number of nights covered (my keycard was deactivated in the morning). Overall I am still waiting to hear back from Park Central on any explanation or refund.

Well, from start to finish this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We got to the hotel at 6:25pm after a long day of travel. The line to check in was out the door. After waiting 55 min to check in, our room wasn’t ready. Check in starts at 4pm. It was now 7:20. How on Earth can they not have rooms ready. Instead of our 2 queen room, they offer us a kind suite with a pull out couch. We get to the room, and there is no couch in the room. We must go downstairs again to deal with this. She said we can have a 2 queen room like we booked but in an hour. Finally got into our hotel room at 9:30pm!!! I have never had anything like this happen before. Now to the room. Things seem to be falling apart. The mirror is peeling or something (see photo), the wood door is splintering, & the bathroom smelled kind of like a musty old towel. I think it was the shower curtain. The phone also had no numbers for room service, guest service, front desk or anything. It was just blank (see photo). When we needed new towels I had to call only cell cause I didn’t have any way of knowing how to call on the room phone. Waited 30 min for towels. Called again. Waited 15 min. Went down to the lobby. An hour after our initial request, we finally got towels. When house keeping would come, they made the room up, but with the same bedding. They didn’t make the beds with new sheets. I know this because one had a whole in it and every day there was the sheet with a whole in the same place.

The location is great for walking to Central Park, Broadway and Times Square. The subway is right next to the hotel, which makes everything easy. The staff were all fantastic, but the hotel is in need of updates. The door to my room (453) had gouges in it like someone took a hammer to it, and a strip of carpet was torn up just inside the door. All things being considered, I would stay here again.

We were in New York for an annual theater trip and the Park Central Hotel was central to both Lincoln Center and the Broadway show we attended on 47th Street. It was also convenient to the subway. We had stayed at the hotel a number of years ago, but it appeared to have been updated and was contemporary and stylish in its appearance. The room was very comfortable.

This hotel is a jewel ! It is two blocks away from Central Park. The area is full of diverse dining options. Subway entrance is right at the corner. Walking to Times Square takes 5 min only and there is plenty of security officers around the area. Definitely we will book it again !

Our room was nicely organized and very clean. The bathroom was clean and roomy. Guest relations were excellent and coffee pot was delivered to the room promptly. They also made follow up call to insure coffee pit received and if anything else was needed. Location in New York was excellent, as well.

The lobby is huge and they have a bar/food area to sit. When we arrived our room with 2 queen beds was "unavailable". They tried to put us in 2 full size beds. I said no we paid for queen sizes! They finally let us get 2 king beds for one night. But we had to pack up and move the next day which limited what we could do bc we had to check out and could not check back in until 4pm! I've never had a hotel do this before! The front desk wasn't warm and fuzzy but most NYer's aren't so I just treated them as they treated us. After that things were fine and the cleaning staff was very nice and helpful if we needed more supplies. The hotel is a really good location! Based on the hotels around us, it seemed like the best option. The lobby always smelled amazing and there is always someone to help if you needed a ride or directions somewhere. In addition to the bar they also had a small place to get on the go food but it closes at 6pm. All in all I'd pick this hotel again!

They need to keep the small shop open longer and improve the bar facilities. For such a lovely bar area we were disappointed with the range of beers and the ambience of the bar area. It could have been made into a much more welcoming fun area. When you have explored the city, a nice evening with drinks would have been enjoyable

While this hotel probably has the most central location for our purposes, we encountered several things that dampened our enthusiasm for this establishment. The first room we were given had a very "lumpy" mattress. When my wife requested a room change, the staff was very helpful and gave us another room with a much more comfortable mattress. We did find that the carpet in the room probably deserves to have a proper shampooing. During our trip, we encountered two days with quite heavy drizzling and unseasonable cold weather, something we did not prepare for. When we asked to borrow umbrellas from the reception, we were told that the hotel does not provide such amenities. In our travels, every hotel we have stayed in provided umbrellas for the use of guests. To us, this is a very basic item to offer. I hope that the hotel would consider this comment. Again, the hotel does have much to offer, not the least of which is its central and very convenient location.
