For your own safety, please don't stay here. The group that lingers outside requires a security guard inside and outside the hotel. The parking they encourage is not open 24/7 and my husband almost got mugged. Our window could not shut fully. The attached restaurant staff acts inconvenienced and will ignore you. Choose another hotel.

This hotel has 37 floors but only 2 small elevators which are always packed. Luckily our room was on the 5th floor so going up we were able to get on the elevator. Coming down was a different story. The room was very small but we were only there to sleep so it was basically ok. The bartender in the bar, Mehdi, was top notch and very friendly. We enjoyed talking to him.

A good place to stay in midtown. Very convenient. Only two elevators means a bit of a wait at busy times, but not bad at all. Fitness center has the basics. Room was very clean and good size for NYC. Desk space and bathroom were great. Bed comfy and several options for pillow hardness. Ice machine was a bit loud at night, but didn’t keep me up.

Not sure if it was the elevator or the water pipes but loud knocking noise off and on all through the night. Phone in room did not work. Stay either on upper floor (so you can get elevator) or 2nd floor (do you can take the stairs). 2 elevators for 36 floors and staff. Security out front was great. Staff very nice.

It's easily accessible and it's at the city centre. Using the elevator during checkout was a herculean task. It took me 45 minutes to get to get on the elevator during checkout. Also, the breakfast offered at the hotel was disappointing.

Great staff. Friendly and efficient. Did their best to fix an AC that was not cooling sufficiently. Even with a bit of a homeless situation outside the entrance, we never felt unsafe because of the security presence provided by the hotel.

I didn’t like that for so many rooms and floors there are only two elevators, making the traffic to go up and down very slow and sometimes annoying. The included breakfast, it’s good but, the serving trays were sometimes empty as well as the coffee. The staff were very nice and helpfull .

Room is extremely DISGUSTING! There was cigarette burn very visible! Also the carpets are Filthy and Dirty! The TV remote has Scum & Dirt around the keys of it, very nasty!! The AC is filled with Dirty and Dust, very difficult to breathe in the room. Carpet had HAIR from another guest, very disgusting would not recommend. Carpet and bed had tears on them. I do not recommend sleeping on the actual sheets. Towels feel course..Worst experience ever!!

I really enjoyed this stay. However… The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all! Traveling from out of town that can be a little frustrating. Also, the plug outlets near the bed didn’t work. They’re very loose in all of my plugs kept falling out. I also had the do not disturb sign on my hotel door yet service. Staff continue to knock and wake me up. I was very frustrated by that. The amount of homeless people that sit on the benches outside of the hotel is very uncomfortable. Literally, the hotel benches couldn’t even sit there and smoke. Had to walk a couple blocks away to feel comfortable. 711 right next-door. People will literally hold the door for you and expect you to pay them… Nice people kind of somewhere a little rough around the edges but not suitable for having children around in that type of environment. I wish they had security out there…/They would actually do something to make them go away. There’s so much of the city they can be at. They don’t need to sit right in front of the hotel and the staff do nothing about it… It makes the guest extremely uncomfortable

The property is on 8th Ave. between 38th & 39th. If you are looking for a convenient location, this could be your stay. It's four blocks from Penn Station and three from Port Authority, so it's easy access from any of the modes of transportation without needing to hop on the subway or in a cab. For dining in a pinch, the area has a lot of great quicky options, if you're not looking to go far from the hotel. Otherwise, you're in NYC so explore the dining options. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the room was smallish, but it works. When leaving the hotel, plan on some extra time since there are only two small elevators and it could take a while to get one with room for you and your party (Don't leave around check out time, it took me twenty minutes to find room for me and my backpack). The only real warning is about the street noise. New York is the "City that Never Sleeps" and while businesses will close, the traffic and local outdoor residents don't necessarily do so at hours you wish they would, even if you're staying on the 22nd floor. You might find quieter locations, but you will definitely lose the convenience that I first mentioned.

This hotel was a high rise and as such there was great demand on the lifts (there were two). Sadly, one of which was unavailable for a lot of time and this meant very long waits for lifts (we were on the 21st floor and it was quicker to walk down the stairs). Secondly, the windows (on the 21st floor and assumed on all floors) opened fully without any safety features and I was travelling with my young children which was less than ideal.

I think I stayed on the 4th floor. Sound was AWFUL. Constant slamming of a hallway door at all hours. Couldn't sleep as a result. Then the A/C (or heat) in the room kept kicking on, and it was so, so loud. I wanted to cry by the morning. I got so little sleep during my stay.

We were only in New York for a day and a half so we chose this hotel. It’s not close to time square about a 14 minute walk. It was judt okay. The room was so small giving jail cell. It looks old and needs to be updated. It was okay for the one night but if i was staying any longer u would have cancelled and got a better room.

The rooms and staff are fine but the hotel is setback from the sidewalk and there is a small courtyard that leads into the hotel. It is open to the public and seems to attrack an iffy crowd and trash, especially at night. In addition, this hotel has a small lobby but is also popular with tour groups so the lobby and elevators get jammed.

The location is good for those who want to do the Time Square, first time in NYC experience. It being close to both Port Authority and Penn Station makes it a good spot for quick stays. Just two very minor criticisms. The hotel only has two elevators. For a building that size there really should be at least one more. The public area in front of the property can get pretty full of people hanging around all day and night. Might make some people uncomfortable or nervous. They’re harmless though.

This hotel is fine if you know going in what you’re getting into. It is near Times Square and very near Port Authority. PA is very convenient to get to airports, but like many major bus stations if it’s not located in great neighborhood. The rooms are very small, but the only really bad thing about this hotel is there are two elevators which are massively over subscribed during rush-hours which are about 12 hours a day.

The hotel was great. Highly recommend. Everything was clean. Rooms were nice and loved how they provided shampoo/conditioner/body soap. Used the coffee machine in room. Nice having security guard on duty at all times and locked elevator. Felt safe. Highly recommend this location. Perfect to time square and multiple subway entrances. Right next to Port Authority subway station that connects you to all the lines. Perfect location to food. Perfect to all site seeing spots. Definitely staying here again.

Clean rooms. Great location. Easy access to time square and Hell’s Kitchen. Great staff. They let us do early check in and late check out. Now the cons. Rooms are small. Lobby is small. Need to pay extra to enter their lunch room. Worst is the front entryway area. There are nice benches that they allow for the public. This of course becomes a hot loitering spot for homeless and ghetto kids. They need to gate that area for hotel guest only. This would make a huge difference. This is my reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

It was fun to stay in Times Square area; my room was on a high floor, allowing me to enjoy the city lights at night! I also liked that there is a patio-park in front of the hotel -a luxury spot for people-watching in this area- as well as spots to stop cars for unloading and loading (though I took a brief walk from Penn Station, myself). The room was modern and clean, and the bed COMFORTABLE! The attached restaurant had a relaxed vibe, but high style, and well-executed menus - drink, dinner, and dessert! I felt thoroughly comfortable enjoying a cocktail alone while waiting for my niece to join me in NYC! The staff, especially Karolin at Reception and Nevin, our bartender, were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I WILL be back!!!

I did not like the fact that this property only had TWO ELEVATORS for over 30 floors. The wait for the elevators was maddening. Also the free breakfast was pretty awful, just awful.
