A well located though older hotel so updated rooms would be nice. The manager helped me relocate to a better room as the room given to me initially not as expected

Loved our stay! Hotel location can't be beat. Within walking distance to so much! Excellent valet service; quick and courteous. Helpful desk staff. Only slight negative are very firm, lumpy bed pillows and noise of A/C system. I would absolutely stay there again!!

The good - The valet was excellent. Warm greeting, took our car, brought up our luggage asap. - Check-in was easy - Room was averagely spacious - Can't beat the location - The Armory was good, Had two drinks and the waitress was very nice. The bad - This place is dated and somewhat dilapidated. No photos or paintings in the room. Bland. - The bathroom ceiling is a drop ceiling and one tile above the shower was all crooked. The shower has stains all over the walls, Shower head is old. Dirty grout around the stall (so old that it's impossible to clean). Found a coffee cup paper sleeve on the floor of our room. - The bathroom fan/overhead light is on a 30m timer for some reason. Have fun turning it to 30 over and over and over. - Front desk young girl barely said hello and didn't talk other to complete the transaction. Barely smiled. - When to use the advertised hotel gym at 5:45 pm. Was told by the spa attendant that they closed at 6 pm (!). She said I had 15 minutes to work out, and then yelled across the gym that they were closing. This was during the middle of my set. I asked why they closed so early and she said the entire spa closed that early. This is a hotel. Why would they close everything at 6 pm?!? Crazy. For the price, this place isn't worth it. It was nice when I lived in Portland in the 90's. Not not.

Our room was lovely, but the bathroom needs updating. Everything was clean, but showed signs of age inconsistent with a hotel of this level. The location is excellent- walkable and safe. The hotel site indicates “valet parking is available” but should read “required.” We were surprised by the situation. If I returned to Portland, I would stay here again.
