Firstly, they are lucky to have the staff that they do who are very attentive and willing to help. Unfortunately, the place seemed dirty overall with a lot of things not working. I had to walk down five flights of stairs to get to the only ice machine that worked. In the breakfast area out of the four ceiling lights, only one was working. Not very many amenities and the pool closed way too early to be of any use. It would be hard for me to say that I would return to this particular property again; but I do emphasize as the staff was very friendly! We had problems with the TV in the room and somebody came up to address it within a few minutes

Internet access not work anyday. Homeless inside the hotel. Wet floor. Light of the Pool turn off.

We checked and before 6 o’clock, we ordered a king size bed. We were on the fourth floor near the elevators at end of the hall, which did not work. We had to use the lobby elevator as well as park on the back entrance to get to our floor. Also, the icemaker did not work on the fourth floor, where we originally had our king size bed room We were able to move to the first floor. Where we were put in queen size beds in the icemaker worked, but we would’ve liked to had a king bed. Also, the vending machines didn’t work on either floor. With the conditions, the staff was friendly and tried to accommodate their best management really needs to look into this hotel and fix anything that is broken.

Overall the hotel is very nice but we had issues this time the door would've open in the first room so we had to be moved to another room. The elevator near our room was broken they entire stay. The air conditioner was loud and not very cool the water was hot to the point of burning and the wifi was on and off constantly

The elevator was broken for our entire stay and was literally run over by a huge laundry cart a maid shoved into me

I would not recommend this hotel. The pictures are from a different hotel or possibly 10 years ago.. So many things broken. No ice machine that works. Terrible water pressure. No lighting in the rooms. TV is a pain to get to work. Outlets broken.

This hotel was advertized as having a pool but they said the pool was only open during the summer. Kids were disappointed as we specifically picked this hotel since it was advertised as having a pool. False advertizing. And it was an indoor pool, so dont know why it is closed in April.

I took my family for a second time because I knew they had a pool and good staff. The only thing that was wrong with our stay was the heater in the pool went out. Otherwise the staff was attentive and nice.

We booked this hotel on three criteria: 1.) Close to Busch Gardens. 2.) Indoor pool for the kids. 3.) Continental breakfast Well, the pool heater was broken, the breakfast was disgusting, but at least we got to Busch Gardens... When we expressed disappointment about the pool we were responded to with "that's why it's listed as seasonal." Really?? Your INDOOR pool is listed as seasonal because your heater regularly breaks in the winter?!?! Completely unacceptable....

The pool was closed. I booked this hotel for the pool. The gym equipment was broken. Phone in my room was not working. Breakfast was okay.

Absolutely awful. It smelled like smoke, the heat in the room didn’t work, the bathroom GFI was broke and despite looking before falling asleep, woke up with a bed bug crawling by my pillow. Absolutely terrible, terrible hotel. RUN!

the toilet had mold the phone in the room wasn't even hooked up to call front desk the bedding smelt mildewed up keep was not what i expected compared to pictures breakfast well the gravy was ice cold like it was just taken out the refrigerator horrible stay will not be back

I stayed this past weekend Aug 15-18. My original room had BED BUGS!! I was given a new room and offered a refund. The new room had no shower curtain. I have personally emailed the manager inquiring on the refund and even called the number I was given for him yet have received no response so I'm forced to post this review. My next step will her calling the health board since I cannot get in contact with the manager and cannot get any response on a refund!

I was getting ready to prepare for bed when my grandson noticed something crawling on the nightstand. When I checked the drawer, to my disappointment and amazement I discovered roaches. I have never had this happen to me before. I notified the front desk and checked out immediately. I was told I would receive a full refund.

Outside of the hotel is so outdated. My family asked if we could cancel once they saw it. I should’ve, but how bad could only 2 nights be? Well the air didn’t work. It was blowing air just not cool air. It was so stuffy and this was on the 4th of July weekend. My husband found a roach in the bathroom and there was a spider on the ceiling. It was just gross. Also, shady characters sleep in their cars in the parking lot of the hotel. Needless to say, there will not be a return visit.

The property was not well kept and it was dirty and had a lot of damage such as rusted tub fixtures, hanging bathroom fixtures, mildew in bathroom tub/shower area, damaged tub floor, counter top, protruding iron pieces on the wall, dirty bathroom vent, running water in tub, stained carpet, stained chairs, hot dining area, limited food options, smoke smell in a non smoking room. People hanging outside the hotel, loud noises in the hallway.

This was disgusting, mold all over the window, no smoke detector, elevator was out of order, pool closed the whole place reeked of cigarettes. So bad my son had an asthma attack. We checked out as so as we saw the room.

Not the clean, I spotted several areas in the room that weren't wiped down when something spilled, the air conditioner was very old and had a dead cockroach in the vents. Several places throughout the hotel had strong orders, a "clean" towel had dirt marks already on it. The bathroom sink faucet was dripping. Not the greatest hotel.

Strong marijuana smell coming from the room across the hall was horrible — and this was on the non-smoking floor. We stuffed towels under our door to try keep the smell out, but it was little help. Air conditioner was very loud, as was the train whistle from nearby train track. Trains kept going by (and whistling) after midnight. Pillows were rock-hard and made sleep even harder.

This hotel is an older hotel with old furniture and beds. It's livable but not for the price.

We stayed for 1 night as we traveled as a party of 2 adults and 2 kids to Water County USA. We didnt expect much and got exactly that. There is no phone in the room so we texted for extra towels and wash cloths. No response. Non smiking room but the smell of smoke all in the hall coupled with the cigarette butt in the hall was gross. The shower head was horrible and had limited water flow. Thankfully we only stayed a night. The decor was hideous to say the least. The orange is not relaxing/calming at all. Its the same orange as the kids safey patrol badges in elementary. And who puts a coffee maker in the bathroom which was so small my husband (muscle dude) could hardly move around with the door closed. Clearly not using the coffee maker that is so close to the toilet. Gross. The dresser was very old and damaged and the chair had way too many stains that i refused to use. Now the room was clean and it had a full size mini frig with freezer that actually kept things cold. The beds were not bad or we were just way too tired. The location was convenient to highway which was nice. Check in was real quick. Like I said we didnt expect much for 1 night to just shower and lay our heads so we made it work but I dont think we will stay again.

Hotel good for the price.

Room was comfortable size, beds were comfortable. Non smoking room, and the hall had non smoking room signs but hallway smelled strong of cigarette smoke and marijuana. Arrived at 2:30 PM to see if we could check-in early, room was ready but they wanted to charge $25 to check-in before 4:00 PM. Breakfast area seating is very tight and very hot, food was decent.

This hotel is 40+ years old. The coloring although new still shows it. Old furniture in the rooms, but very clean and comfortable. Bfast is a bag deal, not bad but they’re sitting out on the counter for hours throughout the morning. Water temp and pressure need help. The upside; close to everything, the walls, floors and ceilings are all concrete. That makes it one of the most “sound proof” places I’ve ever stayed. For all you parents who let your kids run rampant around the hallways and room-you won’t hear it…..for once.

The hotel itself ( HoJo by Wyndham Williamsburg Va)is pretty basic/average, but I have to give an enormous shout out to Houston at the front desk! About 30 minutes into my ride home to NC I realized I had left my necklace w my husbands ashes in the room early that AM. It was not in lost and found but Houston tracked it down & promptly called me back letting me know. Thank you and God Bless you sir!

Property not well maintained. Staff asleep at front desk upon arrival. Sketchy characters hanging around building. Odor of marijuana overwhelming on entire 4th floor. Ice machines not working. Back entrance unavailable, key card would not unlock...

Me and my girlfriend booked a room here for 1 night so that we would have somewhere to stay after our trip to water country. We paid for the room, and completed all “pre-check in” forms that were sent to us. While at water country we got a text, 2 hours before we were supposed to check in, saying that we must be 21 in order to check in. We had to go through a series of phone calls and texts before we received a refund, and overall had to find somewhere else to stay, I can’t comment on the condition of the hotel itself, but the condition of the employees communication and professionalism is very questionable. Nowhere on this listing it stated that we had to be 21, and we had already paid and sent in our information, well before we were told we could not stay there. Thankfully we found somewhere else in the area that did allow us to check in and spend the night there.

Had to file a noise complaint and didn’t not get a good nights rest! Very unsafe surroundings and people checking in hotel! Property is very run down and poorly maintained! Front desk clerks are unbothered by complaints and inattentive Entired phone system in rooms don’t work.

The front desk staff was not well groomed, unprofessional appearance. I had the impression that I was bothering his time.

Was there for a weekend getaway. Had a great stay all the staff were friendly and very helpful. If you are staying there while Houston is on duty, he is very nice and accommodating. Good knowledge of the area and the history of the property. Will definitely be returning... thank you for an enjoyable time

Worst customer service, while checking in agent could not stand up and kept her AirPods in the entire time. She claimed we still owed a balance for stay. I explained that we paid in full when booking and that I had used reward points. I showed her our confirmation. She said that that didn’t prove anything. The upstairs smelled of food and smoke. The toilet seat was completely broken off. We had to wait for maintenance to come fix

Stayed here for a weekend trip to Busch Gardens. Hotel is SUPER close to the parks and it was extremely affordable. Beds were comfy. Our TV screen barely worked but we weren’t there for TV anyway. Area hotel was in wasn’t bad either! Would definitely stay again for another trip to Busch Gardens!

The address is incorrect on this app. This hotel is on Richmond Road. The app says it is on York Street which has a hotel that is under complete reconstruction.

Good price, all the basics, clean and located within walking distance of Harris Teeter, McDonald’s and a Sub-station. Very convenient for travelerz

We really enjoyed our trip! The hotel is a great value and super convenient to everything. We will definitely be staying here again soon.

Stayed with my two teenagers to visit the parks! Was a perfectly fine hotel for relaxing and sleeping after a long hot summer day! Inexpensive and we felt safe the whole time.

The beds were super comfortable. We did have to move to a second room due to the batteries in the smoke detector dying (it caused the alarm to beep). When we got to the second room, we realized we had no smoke detector at all (someone must've ripped it off the wall). Also, the knob to adjust the air conditioner temperature was broken, and the room was extremely cold at times. Lastly, the temperature for the refrigerator was up so high that anything we put in there was completely frozen. Aside from all of this, the hotel was not bad at all. I would definitely stay here again, as it was extremely close to the historic area.

The room was clean and comfortable, with good temperature control. There is a large tub and shower combo, much larger than the usual hotel bathroom. We also enjoyed the sauna after a long day of driving to get here. The breakfast included waffles, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, and fruit.

the breakfast starts at 7-10 you get there 5 minutes after the breakfast. Starts The food is fresh and hot. The waffles are great. The yogurt. Everything was well and clean. It's a nice breakfast for the price you pay to stay there

The room (203) was nice and well-appointed. The towel swan showed some nice attention to detail. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast was out of food, with the exception of cold scrambled eggs and waffle batter, by 9 AM on Sunday. There was no coffee and no juice, no forks. Coffee was also not available in the lobby. The two attendants who were tasked with supporting the breakfast service were not seen and were hiding behind the curtain in the buffet area. When the attendant WAS inconvenienced to provide forks and fill the coffee machine, he was clearly annoyed. Not the sort of service that a properly managed and trained staff would provide. Typically - when the employees are uninterested, unskilled and unmotivated - the cause is lack of training and lack of engaged management. Wyndham needs to get in here to fix this otherwise nicely appointed property!

It was good for the price. But needs more food options. We had the same thing for breakfast all 3 days of our stay.

Check in went fine. Room wasn’t that bad beside the doors are real real loud. The bathroom mirror and the mirror on the door was dirty. The elevators take forever we used the stairs most of the time. The pool area is like a freaking sauna. I couldn’t let the kids swim more than 30 minutes because I was sweating, I kept hearing the doors through out the night because like I said they are loud. Breakfast had no milk said they were out. Wasn’t to happy about that because my daughter is so picky, but luckily there is a McDonald’s literally right in front of the hotel. However they did have other breakfast items but again the breakfast room is right beside the pool so as my other kiddos were eating we are all sweating our butts off again. And you can’t take the breakfast to your room to eat in the air conditioning because you will get charged, staff was nice but however I will not be staying at this hotel again!

All in all, it was adequate for what we paid. Took my son and two friends down for his birthday weekend and needed tow rooms so I was looking for something VERY affordable. The staff is kind and courteous and the sheets and towels are clean, even if the bathrooms are a bit grimy and the decor is very outdated and rundown. The HoJo is 15 mins away from both the parks and the colonial area, but the drive was worth the great rate. The hotel is in DESPERATE need of a facelift, although we loved the nostalgic posters of the HoJos of yesteryears. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired but did the trick. Beware of the cafe area being a sweltering sauna given that is has no AC and is in front of the pool.
