Comfort Suites Williamsburg Historic Area

Friendly staff. The hotel is fairly new and very clean. The pool was perfect and the hot tub was great. There was a good food selection at breakfast. The location is perfect - near the colonial area and college, not far from shopping outlets but not on a busy road.

Very clean property. I enjoyed the free continental breakfast, pool, hot tub and game room. This is what stood out to me.

Nicer than the Comfort Inn down the street which we accidentally went to first. Fine front desk. Only stayed one night. Wanted to swim Sunday morning but looking at water decided against. Nothing bad, just had mega chlorine floating on top which makes me itch. Tried exercise room instead. Size of a closet. No bike. Used the one treadmill while wife used the one stair master. Lowest free weight was 15 pounds.Breakfast okay, hot and cold. First time I’ve had a chocolate waffle. Not bad! Beds comfortable. Water pressure good. Guest WiFi didn’t work. Used 5G instead. Walked to dinner at Golfen Corral. Cracker Barrell, Bangcock Garden, and Peking Buffet also close, as is a Walgreens for essentials.Busch Gardens, Premium Outlets, and Historic downtown all not far. Chose this room for accommodations for 4 people. I’d stay here again. Only recommendation, besides exercise bicycle, is to remove the low hanging lamps over every breakfast table which all 4 of us banged out heads on multiple times.

We booked this hotel specifically for the indoor heated pool and were severely disappointed! The smell of bleach and chemicals hit us before we even made it to the pool door. Once we got into the pool room my daughter put her foot into the water and she started complaining that it was burning/itching her skin. Within those two minutes, all of us started having our eyes hurt. So that was very disappointing. The beds were hard as rocks and the breakfast should have lasted until after 9:30 since checkout isn't until 11am.

The breakfast option were good. The pool was clean and extremely kid friendly

Enjoyed staing at this hotel. Great location - close to both Colonial and Busch Gardens. Complementary breakfast was good, and it was great to have coffee available in the lobby at all times. We've also used the pool and the hot tub and had fun there. The gym is pretty small and could benefit from newer equipment. Overall great stay, and great value.

The hotel appears redone and looks very nice in the lobby, cafe and rooms. I liked the aesthetics! The man at the front desk was super friendly and answered all of our questions. The free breakfast was just ok. Long lines and the staff took forever to refill empty items on a busy weekend morning. I would like to see more fresh fruit and better coffee. The pool area was ok but the water in the pool was not clear which caused for some pause. Most of the game machines in the game room do not work. The room was 90% clean to my liking. There were dirty handprints on the back of the bathroom door and that’s a pet peeve of mine. Nothing will ever be 100%, we are humans so it didn’t ruin my day! Overall the price point for a weekend stay was affordable for a family of six to all stay in the same room. I would stay at this hotel again.

The outside of hotel looks a bit shabby, but once inside, it is very nice. Beds are not very comfortable. Very hard and some springs were felt. The food on breakfast buffet was just so so and we o ly tried first morning and decided to eat out after that one try. The pool was not very clean and the hot tub had dome kind of gross slimey white stuff in it. Daughters tried to use it but just could not handle whatever was in the hot tub. Very disappointing. Some sort of sports tournament for teenage athletes was happening and hotel full of ternagers and children. They were very noisey at pool and another reason we avoided using it. Not the hotel's fault, just not the peaceful weekend my daughters and I were looking forward to. All in all, we still had a nice time

This hotel is modern, beautiful, and comfortable. I was impressed with how spacious our room was. I enjoyed having a separate sofa area. Traveling with children can be difficult, but the pool and arcade rooms made this a great place to stay. The pool was open until 11 p.m. and reopened at 6:30 in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked one night on our way to vacation. The room was dirty. I clean all surfaces myself with Clorox. When we moved the sofa to plug in a c pap machine we found dead roaches stuck to a sticky trap and tons of old food. The room had no hot water, we all took cold showers, was dirty and the tv was out throughout the entire hotel. Overall bad stay. We travel a lot so we know good from bad and this was the worst.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean. Quiet. Staff are really nice. Breakfast is really good. I loved this hotel so much I had to end up extending my stay another day! I’ll definitely be back!

Size of room, very good for two people. Housekeeping was outstanding, fresh towels each day, our bed was made daily, trash removed. Free hot breakfast each morning, added bonus. Very friendly staff. The hotel was so clean and well maintained, would definitely recommend this hotel.

This place is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. We saw employees numerous times cleaning/scrubbing the vents on the air conditioners. If they are doing that you know every thing else is cleaned. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. Room was clean and quiet. Nice size fridge and freezer in the room to

I don’t often leave reviews, unless it’s really extraordinarily good or bad. Unfortunately, in this case it was the latter. The hotel itself was a little rundown and didn’t leave the impression that it was well maintained. Sharpie markers were used to “fix” scratches on the picture frames and a pile of couches were stacked next to an exit. When we finally got into the room, we were greeted with a comforter with feces smeared on it. We were promptly moved to another room, but that room was definitely older, with less plugs and different lighting. There were stains on the sofa mattress too, but by this time, we just laid blankets over it before putting on the sheets. Needless to say, the housekeeping staff needs a good talking to. That said, the breakfast was pretty good, and the hotel was conveniently located near Colonial Williamsburg.

The hotel was very very clean. Normally we would have to clean the jacuzzi tub, but it was very clean compared to other hotel with jacuzzi room that we have stayed in. Room was spotless. Will be staying there again soon. Probably become our new getaway weekend destination from now on

Found 2 roaches and had to leave after five minutes of being there. Thankfully the front desk was able to refund me.

Comfort Suites was an amazing place to stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was friendly and efficient. Will definitely choose this hotel again.

Internet wasn’t good.

Our first room the TV almost fell off the wall and would not connect to cable. They did change our room. The next room was very noise near the hotels compressor waking us at each cycle. The bed was hard and I did not find it comfortable. The room was clean and the staff very nice.

We were here for a 2 night/3 day stay. The rooms were nice and clean, staff was incredibly friendly, and complimentary breakfast was nice compared to other locations. A few downsides: only one elevator working, so service was slow, NOISEY!!!! - my family and I barely slept due to the thin walls, and our backs ached because of the mattresses. If staying, I would recommend bringing your own pillow and asking for a room away from the elevators.

We had no hot water let it run for 20 minutes still only lukewarm

Hot water took almost ten minutes to get somewhat warm then would suddenly get scalding when in the shower. Horrible WiFi!!!! There is not an ice machine on every floor and one was broken.

Pros - great location, Quiet, Fridge and microwave in each room, very clean, complimentary breakfast was nice, appears to have been renovated or built new in the last couple of years. Cons - bed was too firm for me (granted, I have arthritis). I tried the pull out sofa bed but it was poor quality (think 1970s). Lights were minimal and not easy to reach, no charging available on the nightstand in our room, had to plug devices in across the room.

We really enjoyed the pool area and hot tub. Not sure if it was just our unit, but I had to take a couple of cold to luke warm showers. The mattresses was very firm and my spouse and I did not sleep well. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

All was good except you can hear the tv's on either side of our room... Also heat did not work and they had to move us to another room after we had gotten settled.

Overall, our stay was great. I would like to suggest, however, that in room 302 the bed was uncomfortable it sagged in the middle and the box spring made a cracking sound so the mattress and box spring needs to be upgraded. Lastly, the wifi had to be reconnected continuously, not sure why. 🤔

Good Location with food nearby, but this hotel was severely understaffed (only one person working in the entire hotel at 6 pm on Saturday) with an undertrained front desk attendant. After a long day at Busch Gardens, our hungry family of six tried to check into our two rooms, which I had booked online days in advance. We received one set of room keys, and the attendant said that our two rooms were connected. I should have known then that this interesting new way of occupying two rooms with keys to only one room was too good to be true. The room had a door to the connected second room, but it was locked. Back I went to the front desk to wait. Received keys to the adjoining room, opened the door, and inside I found other people's belongings! Back to the front desk to wait. The front desk person was neither surprised nor disturbed by the fact that this error had occurred.  After an extended wait, the attendant called the manager for assistance with the problem, and we were given keys to two different rooms. One of the room's keys worked, and the other did not. Back to the front desk to wait. Finally, I received the working keys to the second room and relayed to the family to vacate the single room on the fourth floor, where they had been waiting for well over an hour. I chose this hotel based on excellent reviews, but it ultimately proved to be a disappointment.

The gentleman at the front desk upon check in made us feel like we had just arrived home. All of the staff was exceptional from the front desk, to the food service and housekeeping. We will stay again in the future.

I like the hotel overall, but when our toilet clogged and I told the front desk, he said "I do not plunge toilets" (exact quote) and handed me a plunger. I don't know if that's normal--I guess I can see the logic that if we clogged it we needed to fix it, but the attitude was weird. Given the shared nature of plumbing at a hotel, you can't necessarily place the blame and expect a guest to fix the problem themselves. In fact, after the toilet was unclogged, it was running on and off all night, so there might have been a bigger issue. I plunged it and it was fine, but not everyone who stays at a hotel is physically able (I'm thinking of my 80-year-old parents here) or would expect to plunge a toilet when paying to stay. Other than that the stay was great, but given all the options in the area the whole being handed a plunger thing would give me pause staying there again.

Amenities were nice. Overall great vibe. Everyone was friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

Will definitely stay here again. Matthew at the front desk was very kind and very helpful. We got in our room to find the tv didn't work and he came up right away and fixed it. Pool and hot tub were clean and in working order. So many dining options all around the hotel. Beds were very comfortable and all staff was kind and personable!

Cookie cutter hotel with poor service. Door was broken and would not open. Asked desk clerk to help and he assisted three other families (two issues with other rooms) while my family waited in the hallway on an upper floor. No urgency.

I recently stayed at this hotel during a trip to Williamsburg, VA, for both business and leisure, and it was truly a gem! The rates were excellent, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, Miriam greeted my wife and me, making check-in quick and easy. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast to start the day off. The best service and comfortable stay made a lasting impression, and I’ll choose this hotel again in the future.

Only place we have stayed where we have been charged for a dirty towel/shower curtain- it was from purple shampoo. Ruined the whole vibe of our trip by confronting us the second day with it and making us pay $35 for a hand towel and a shower curtain. By the way, it came out in the wash when I took it home. Will never stay here again- this was our third trip to this hotel. Poor customer service.

My stay at the Comfort Suites was good. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from W&M. The decor is modern. I took advantage of the complimentary breakfast and appreciated this perk.

Good location to historic area and Busch Gardens. Room spacious and clean. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast but uncluded so no complaints.

This Comfort Inn had great access to the Historic Area, Jamestown, shopping and restaurants. It was clean and neat. Staff friendly and helpful. It was perfect for our 3 day stay.

I would stay there again. The hotel lobby and my room were clean and smelled good, except the bathroom had a strong pine-sol smell. There was no exhaust fan in my bathroom so after showering, the humidity went up in the room for a while. With three of us in the room it became more of an issue. The breakfast was well presented but there were lines to get to the food and not enough seats for the number of guests when we were there. Maybe the area could be reworked to add more seating?

I stay here with my pre teen in a double bed room. Pros: the room was spacious, relatively clean, control area, cable tv, lots of outlets, bath was a good size, there is a couch With additional bed but we didn’t use it but liked the extra space to relax, the jacuzzi and laundry ($2 for wash & $2 for dry), the safe was very friendly and accommodating. Cons: although there was hot breakfast it wasn’t the best just okay. If we had to eat it, it’s good enough. I was nervous to stay here because the decor in pics don’t look the best but it not bad in person. The carpet in the room was clean. Overall a great experience. Would recommend.

The rooms were well appointed, spacious, and quiet. The daily breakfast had a wide variety of choices. And the staff were professional, friendly, and helpful -- they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

breakfast was very substandard / didn't even have real plates just styrofoam - fruit consisted of bananas apples and oranges - i will say the coffee was delicious and available all day long which is great
