Langstone Quays Resort, Portsmouth

Stayed for a 3 night break. All staff very friendly & helpful. Had a Harbour facing room but sadly not much of a harbour. Hotel corridors to rooms are tired & carpets need replacing! Also the bathroom in our room needs to be refurbished. Shower in a very old bath with a shower curtain & floor flooded every time we showered! Pool was nice have but the jacuzzi was out of use so that was a disappointment as we did not know until we arrived & it’s been out of use since April & it says it’s out of use for 8 weeks! We did eat in the restaurant on our first evening & the food was delicious. Breakfast was buffet style but plenty of it. Hotel is in a good place for travelling the south coast.

Room was spacious and a good spec. Pool area is in need of a revamp. They have started but did mean the jacuzzi was out of bounds and was much colder than the rest of the hotel.

A good sized gym with plenty of equipment. The Staff were cheerful and helpful. The food is really nice. Ive stayed here twice for work now and will definately stay again if im in the area.

Lovely hotel to stay in and great size rooms. Pool area could do with upgrade as lot broken tiles and mould build up in shower rooms.

The building looks a bit run down from the outside/car park area but inside was lovely. The pool area could do with a re-vamp.

On arrival, our room wasn't quite up to standard. The lovely lady on reception fixed it immediately, offering us an upgrade. The hotel staff are all very friendly. Our room was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. We used it as a base for visiting the local area. We used the pool facilities and enjoyed those. It was a shame the jacuzzi wasn't working but the sauna and steam room were good. The area around the pool right next to the changing rooms was a little dirty but everywhere else around the hotel was very clean. We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was good too, with plenty to choose from. Considering how busy it was, we were impressed with the availability of food on the buffet. We liked the way the seating is arranged to make the most of the view across the water. There was a wedding on Saturday night but there was no disturbance from it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We thought it was great value and would recommend it.

We love this hotel but once again, the staff were lacking any personality. The sauna wasnt working properly and the jacuzzi was out of order.

Spot on visit, breakfast selection was perfect and cleanliness of hotel was great. Gym was better then most hotels, as was the swimming pool, sauna and steam room

Overall good stay, but Jacuzzi was not working.

The room was clean but the decoration was very tired especially the bathroom where the bath surround was mouldy and the sink was cracked and the plug did not fit and the water escaped.

Room was ok but bathroom was in a poor condition with a cracked sink , mould around taps and rusty shower curtain rings and again, mould of shower curtain. However, the setting is lovely and if you can catch the sunset it kind of makes up for it but wouldn’t rush back

We stayed in room 40. The room is dinged due to limited natural light because of a large bush outside of the window. Room smells mouldy, opened window didn't make any difference.

Room needed updating loud music being played at 7 in morning pillows to thin.soap bottles in bathroom needed cleaning dirty plug hole in bath

The location was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful , the cleanliness was good as was the food but the hotel is on need of a refurb as the rooms were a little worn out

Clean room lovely stay

Room wasn’t very clean, window sills very grubby, net curtains very creased , dead insects in bathroom. Staff were great, breakfast great. Hotel just needs updating

Filthy bathroom!!! Had to ask for a shower curtain change. shower hose & bath plug black with mould. Bath not clean, floor had long black hairs. Taps filthy. Ventilation fan broken. Stains everywhere. Public Breakfast area in very bad condition. Unsanitary handling of food trays and dining wear. Would never rebook.

Was bugs lots of bugs in the room. Even on the bed. We had to wake up in the night because of moth bugs . We had to keep our clothes into suitcases because of moths. Very disappointed for a hotel room to have lots of moths bugs and dirty beds . Definitely we will not stay again . Really disappointed. They should hire more people with experience to clean those rooms. The staff was friendly but to young around 18 years old with no experience. As a business they need more experience people to do the job done not leave on the hands of kids. Very disappointed regarding cleanliness

Cleanliness of my room was really poor. Mould in the bathroom, shower head disgusting and hairs from the previous guest found on the toilet. Heating didn't work No coffee in my room

Langstone Quays Resort is in a great location - just over the bridge onto Hayling Island with plenty of parking and a short walk to lovely tearooms and coastal walks. The bathrooms are dated and the fabric shower curtain needs to be replaced. It would be nice to have bathrobes and slippers in the room so you can go down to the spa ready for action! There's no air-conditioning and the rooms are boiling (even when the weather isn't). There were two fans provided in the room and we needed both on the entire time we were in the room, awake and asleep. The hotel is large and on two floors - there's no lift. If you need help with your luggage you have to ask, nobody will offer! The buffet breakfast has everything you want to start your day off, plus you can order vegetarian sausages and poached eggs. There are staff in abundance but none of them are proactive, so you have to ask every time any of the food choices need replenishing. The evening meal was very tasty - and very tiny and very expensive! Again, plenty of staff but slow, disinterested service. I would definitely stay again for the location, and hope that the staff are more proactive next time and the small changes I've mentioned have been acted upon.

The hotel is nice and the harbour view when having a drink is stunning. WIFI however is absolutely shocking even in bar area.

The bar and restaurant area is really nice, the rooms look tired and every time I left the room I had to go to reception to get the card reset

We booked a 3 night stay in a Classic Double Harbour facing room. Having paid extra for the view, we were therefore more than a little disappointed when we discovered that our room overlooked a large car park. We could not even see a tiny amount of harbour or sea. When we queried this with the receptionist, she was not at all apologetic but offered us the only other available room, which was smaller and by the road. We therefore decided to stay in the original room (no.125). The receptionist was not very welcoming or friendly on our arrival, which did not create a good impression. She just advised that our room was "harbour facing". We did discover a harbour beyond the car park and tree line but none of it is visible from the hotel. In our opinion, the marketing information about the rooms is misleading, at best ! Our stay was otherwise OK. the breakfast options were good, and the evening meal menu was quite good but a bit limited.

Don’t ask for a marina view room it’s the car park more like property getting tired and needs a bit of an update but the food was lovely

Nice area, lovely views but only on one side of the hotel if you are lucky to get an odd numbered room, otherwise your view like ours is a carpark! There is no air con so room is stiffling at night need fans on. The hotel.reception.and bar areas are nicely decorated and breakfast was nice, good quality. Didnt use the pool or gym.but looked nice Felt was reasonable but was disappointed in heat in room and lack of nice vuews as paid £300 for 2 adults for 2 nights Nice but wouldnt return

Hotel is great. Gym and pool are really good. Let down by grumpy staff on check in and getting a room next to reception that was not quiet at all.

Good hotel over all. In need of updating in some areas . Some bar staff were miserable. Bike hire would be nice to do the Billy Trail. Its quite a long walk. Enjoyed our stay. Would go back.

Upside: We enjoyed the swimming pool area, restaurant area, hotel location and staff friendliness. Downside: overall the place feels like it needs a little love and care. Our room was way too noisy sadly - from slamming doors waking us up late at night and then in the morning, the coughing neighbours and toilet flushes above - overall it felt we were all on top of each other with little to no noise insulation.

NO HOT WATER. Terrible customer service. Whenever Expedai try to contact them about our request for a refund they say the manager is not available and will get back to them within 72 hours. We have tried this a number of times. 6 weeks later the hotel has not even bothered to respond to our request. Hospitatlity? Ha!

We stayed at the hotel for three days to visit the attractions in the surrounding area. Our room that overlooked the harbour, was comfortable and clean. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast offered a variety of foods from cereal and continental choices to full English cooked breakfast. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

Booked in and given access key to room that was alreay occupied (room 153 ). Never happened to me before and feel sorry for the gentleman whose room we entered. Good job we are honest as his phone was there on charge and all his possessions too. A formal apology would have been nice.

The hotel was situated in a wonderful position. A family bedroom for 3 was excellent even though it stated maximum of 3 you could have had 4 people in the room(I suppose fire restraints) Staff could not be more helpful and the breakfast the next morning you could not fault the variety on the hot and cold selection. The only blip is that the fixtures need to be checked more intently as the stem of our shower attachment came out of the wall and we needed to push it in to continue

Reception staff were great and extremely helpful. Bar & restaurant staff not great, service very slow (we ended up clearing our own plates after 45mins) and some (not all the odd one was lovely) staff didn’t seem to want to be there and we felt like an inconvenience. Location great. We had 3 rooms for 2 nights and an additional room for 2 night

Much better than expected. Great service (especially Julie on reception), fantastic breakfast (really busy, but food regularly replenished) and very comfortable rooms. Thank you!

We just had one issue when we arrived at the hotel.We came 15 mins early on our supposed check in time which was 15:00 . The staff told us the room wasn’t available yet , fair enough. I came back again at exactly 15:00 and was told to wait for 20 mins as the room still not ready. We’ve waited until 15:40 before got our room but nobody even try to check on us on that 40 mins waiting time. Worst of all I have to queue again just to make a query if we our room was ready. We were really tired that time and was looking forward to do some activities in hayling island so evert minute counts. But in general ,our 2 nights stay in the hotel was really fun . The hotel itself is very clean and the amenites were good as well. The room is has so much space and the location is just so mesmerising. This is our 3rd time coming to Langstone Hotel in Hayling Havant . And we really loved it.

The checking in was awful. Too few staff and everybody turned up at 3p.m. No check in was allowed before that. It was around 4.30p.m. before we could check in. Nightmare.

Location of hotel is lovely. Great for exploring Hayling Island and nearby area. Condition of the hotel is a little tired but we understand that an updating programme is in progress. Rooms were a good size and well equipped. Bathrooms could do with updating. Staff were fantastic - could not do enough to help.

Staff excellent, breakfast good, room clean. One point I booked a harbour view room and basically it was a view of the car park. Reception changed my room to a view of a small inlet. The gentleman on reception was excellent and I’m sure he has been challenged on this before.

A lovely setting with views over the harbour. A short walk into a harbour where we were able to do a seal watching tour. Lovely dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast was delicious too. Very friendly staff and tidy facilities. Would recommend

Beautiful location. And really good standard of hotel. If you are looking for peace, and quiet, great walks and a couple of great pubs just across the bay this is ace.

Not what it’s made out to be! ⭐️⭐️ (2 stars) We stayed 3 nights for a family wedding. Sadly, this hotel is underwhelming and in serious need of care. Rooms & Facilities The building is dated with scuffed paintwork and tired furnishings. No lifts – a major issue if you have mobility needs (my wife does). We’d requested a ground floor room in advance, thankfully this was granted. The bathroom was poor: stained toilet, black grout, rusty shower curtain hooks, and a curtain that stuck to you. The soap dispensers were blocked by their anti-theft cages. No air con in rooms (though oddly in the function suites); our Dyson fan didn’t work. Housekeeping Housekeeping was chaotic. Even after following the “clean room” sign system, our room wasn’t serviced until late – and then dirty glasses were still left behind. Staff tried hard, but there clearly aren’t enough of them. Food & Drink Breakfast was decent: hot, replenished, and staff were cheerful despite queues. The bar, however, was daylight robbery. £19 for a vodka & lemonade and squash. Even soft drinks were extortionate – with a wedding on-site, you’re stuck paying. Noise Forget a lie-in or early night. Soundproofing is non-existent: corridor chatter, doors slamming from 7am, and evening functions made sleep a challenge. Parking Parking was dreadful – badly laid out and only two disabled bays. For a venue hosting weddings and conferences, this is simply unacceptable. Overall We stayed because of a wedding, not choice.
