Now called the middle house hotel. Met by the new owner on arrival, who explained the hotel had change hand and they where revamping. The work they had already done was lovely. Rooms clean and very comfortable, lovely bathroom with shower and bath. Bar area very spacious with lovely dining room off the main bar. Small games room with pool table and dartboard. Breakfast was very good, great variety of food available. Will definitely stay again

Fabulous spot in the heart of Askrigg. Great bar and food, especially breakfast. Only tiny negative, the tv is about the size of a PC monitor and reception on anything other than BBC is non existent. That said, you don’t go to watch TV. Everything else is great.

Our check-in to Middle House was quick and efficient, in spite of a good number of people being in the bar and gardens for an event. The owner told us that some refurbishments were still in progress, with the ensuite bathrooms still to be completed. However, the ensuite for our bedroom was spacious and very clean. Just a few more hooks or rails to hang towels on would be useful. The bedroom was also spacious and from what we saw, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Meals were nicely cooked and presented, with good choices available. Evening meals were reasonably priced and there are a few well-kept Yorkshire real ales on the bar. Lovely charming hotel in the middle of town. Excellent service - no lift/elevator so reception gladly offered to carry up our luggage. Breakfast was fantastic - lots of gluten free and dairy free alternative options - this is so appreciated, thank you! Spacious room and bathroom - plenty of hot water - very comfortable room. Parking is somewhat tight but available and off the main road. Would gladly stay here again!

Great location, free parking and breakfast and very fair price. Excellent food and nice bar with beer garden downstairs. Located in a very scenic and central part of the Yorkshire dales. Highly recommend staying here, staff were really good to us.

A lovely hotel. Interesting characterful room. Nice friendly staff and a delicious evening meal in the bar. We enjoyed a little walk round the village. There was a lovely village store which sells everything! An art shop, flower shop, tea room and a beautiful church. All surrounded by stunning scenery..

Nice hotel on main road through Askrigg. Comfortable room ( No 12) but a little small with 2 single beds. Bathroom had separated bath and ensuite shower. Very nice cooked breakfast and good service throughout. Didn't take evening meal but seemed popular for drinks and meals. Free parking at the rear. Only problem for us was room 12 was up 4 flights of stairs with no lifts. Check with the hotel when booking if that will be a problem for you. Beer garden out back.

Excellent service. Attentive and friendly staff. Superb meal !! Very well presented and very tasty. Couldn’t fault the food. It was delicious. Clean rooms and pleasant dining room, including outdoor dining. The only negative feedback - the pillows are hard and either too thin or too fat. But the bed was very comfortable.

Nice place, John and staff were friendly and accommodating. Nice and clean, plenty of tea & coffee. Nice soft towels. The breakfast was magnificent, absolutely top drawer, I’d stay again just for that!!

Great location in the Yorkshire Dales! We had our own car, and The Middle House was very centrally located. The breakfast was superb, the whole hotel was kept very clean, and all of the people working there were very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay at the Middle house, very friendly staff and locals. The food served in the pub was very good pub food and the dog friendly bat suited our needs. The room was very clean with a comfy bed if not a bit dated. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel with lovely large rooms. Breakfast and evening meal were delicious and good quality. Staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. Most importantly for us, they were very pet friendly. A table was set up for us so our dog could be with us while we dined and upon arrival they had left a bottle of doggy wine and a bowl in the hotel room! The new owners have only been in place since February and they have done an amazing job at refurbishing the property so far. We wish them every success in the future they thoroughly deserve it.

What a lovely welcoming hotel in the centre of the village. Our dog had his own special treat on arrival of Posh dog wine. This made us all smile. I had let them know it was are anniversary and we also had a lovely surprise in our room. But oh my goodness the food it phenomenal from breakfast to lunch and then dinner WoW! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We will be back

Fabulous spot in the heart of Askrigg. Great bar and food, especially breakfast. Only tiny negative, the tv is about the size of a PC monitor and reception on anything other than BBC is non existent. That said, you don’t go to watch TV. Everything else is great.

Our check-in to Middle House was quick and efficient, in spite of a good number of people being in the bar and gardens for an event. The hotel has a modern feel but with some lovely traditional furniture here and there. The owner told us that some refurbishments were still in progress, with the ensuite bathrooms still to be completed. However, the ensuite for our bedroom was spacious and very clean. Just a few more hooks or rails to hang towels on would be useful. The bedroom was also spacious and from what we saw, the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Meals were nicely cooked and presented, with good choices available. Evening meals were reasonably priced and there are a few well-kept Yorkshire real ales on the bar. The outdoor seating area is very pleasant and we were pleased to be able to park at the back of the hotel. Middle House is very convenient for countryside walks to beautiful waterfalls. We would stay there again.

Great location in the Yorkshire Dales! We had our own car, and The Middle House was very centrally located. The breakfast was superb, the whole hotel was kept very clean, and all of the people working there were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, very friendly, lovely comfy room with excellent shower, excellent amenities. The breakfast is also very nice indeed, big, tasty and lots of choice. Fully recommend this hotel if you are planning walks in the north Yorkshire dales.

Lovely charming hotel in the middle of town. Excellent service - no lift/elevator so reception gladly offered to carry up our luggage. Breakfast was fantastic - lots of gluten free and dairy free alternative options - this is so appreciated, thank you! Spacious room and bathroom - plenty of hot water - very comfortable room. Parking is somewhat tight but available and off the main road. Would gladly stay here again!

Great location, free parking and breakfast and very fair price. Excellent food and nice bar with beer garden downstairs. Located in a very scenic and central part of the Yorkshire dales. Highly recommend staying here, staff were really good to us.

A lovely hotel. Interesting characterful room. Nice friendly staff and a delicious evening meal in the bar. We enjoyed a little walk round the village. There was a lovely village store which sells everything! An art shop, flower shop, tea room and a beautiful church. All surrounded by stunning scenery..

Nice hotel on main road through Askrigg. Comfortable room ( No 12) but a little small with 2 single beds. Bathroom had separated bath and ensuite shower. Very nice cooked breakfast and good service throughout. Didn't take evening meal but seemed popular for drinks and meals. Free parking at the rear. Only problem for us was room 12 was up 4 flights of stairs with no lifts. Check with the hotel when booking if that will be a problem for you. Beer garden out back.

The menu provided a great selection of locally produced ingredients. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable regarding the choice of drinks on offer. The room was very comfortable and we, including our dog,were made to feel very welcome.

Excellent service. Attentive and friendly staff. Superb meal !! Very well presented and very tasty. Couldn’t fault the food. It was delicious. Clean rooms and pleasant dining room, including outdoor dining. The only negative feedback - the pillows are hard and either too thin or too fat. But the bed was very comfortable.

What a lovely welcoming hotel in the centre of the village. Our dog had his own special treat on arrival of Posh dog wine. This made us all smile. I had let them know it was are anniversary and we also had a lovely surprise in our room. But oh my goodness the food it phenomenal from breakfast to lunch and then dinner WoW! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We will be back

Had such a fantastic one night stay at the middle house. From the moment we walked in there was a friendly welcome for us all including our dog. The room was ready and was so clean. Smelt amazing when we walked in so fresh. There were lovely little touches for our dog including bowl, and doggie prosecco. We asked if we they had gluten free options in the menu to find that basically the whole menu was gluten free nearly - amazing as I’m coeliac - one of the owners is too so felt safe. We had a fantastic 3 course evening meal they were all really well presented and delicious. Breakfast was equally as good with fantastic gluten free selection. We will most definitely be back and evening passing through will stop for food. All areas of the hotel are spotless and the attention to detail was fantastic you can see how hard the guys who own this place work and it shines through. The area it is situated in is beautiful too - we had never been to this area of Yorkshire before.
