Baymont by Wyndham Indianapolis East

The rooms were dirty. The floors and bathtub were gross. The rim around the pool had lime scale and grime all the way around. The ice machine was disgusting. There isn't an handicap parking. There is not an elevator. Will not return.

Front desk acted like I was bothering him. The hotel smelled. Pool was dingy. Bed was hard. Room face back parking lot. Several people stood outside my window to smoke. And it was like the window was open. I could smell it and hear everything. Breakfast was dry, cold and looked old

Bed was good, hallways and room was old and dirty. People hanging around and drinking in the parking lot. Fitness center was one treadmill. Pool looked basically unusable, but was open

Property needs to be maintained. Convenient location. Very noisy activity and partying in parking lot outside our room. Accessible room - shower curtain located too high which created flooding on bathroom floor. Ice machine was filthy but did work. Pool was full of water but closed to the public. Breakfast was inedible and poorly served. Food was cold and/or uncooked.

How can you have a hotel without an elevator?

This property is under renovation, so someone else may have a better experience than we did. Our room smelled of old smoke. Perhaps I should have asked for a different room, but given how dingy and chipped the walls and ceiling tiles were, I didn't have hope a room change would be much of an improvement. Our room had no closet, simply 3 hooks on the wall. The cabinets were new, as well as the bathroom cabinets. Beds were comfortable and linens were new and clean. 2 pillows per bed (double queen room), so we asked for more which were given to us readily, along with the extra towels requested as there were also only 2 towels in the bathroom. The floors are vinyl flooring. This is obviously an older hotel so soundproofing was not great and we could hear a lot of road noise. Staff was friendly, breakfast was limited. This was not the stay we were hoping for, after renovations, someone else may have a better experience.

The hotel is currently being worked on. The pool was not accessible and the breakfast was very simple. The beds were comfortable. The doors did not seem very secure and you could hear and see people walking down the hall through the cracks.

We didn't have very many options for hotels due to everything being booked. It looks like they may be upgrading but can't really tell.

Pros: Indoor pool Parking is very close to the building - bed was comfortable Cons: - check in took forever. I was the only one there. - entire building smelled of weed and smoke - holes in the walls all over, including in the rooms - no batteries in the TV remote - outside side doors to the property we're always unlocked. - place was super loud. Cars racing all night. - bathroom sink shot out 1 tiny stream of water at about 5000 psi. Shocked it hasn't cut a hole through the sink - shower temperature was either a) molten lava or b) liquid nitrogen

The rooms weren’t thoroughly clean, the staff is rude, and the hotel has no elevator, which sucks when you have suitcases and small children. There was so much chlorine in the pool that the kids couldn’t enjoy the only reason that we checked in.

The first room they gave us was mold growing on the air conditioner smelled musty and was very humid. Disgusting. We bring a black light and there was nasty stains all over the pillows under the covers were saturated and some kind of substance. I would recommend definitely not using this place unless it’s an emergency and you have to lay your head somewhere. It was full of prostitutes walking around going in and out of the facility. The only good thing was they allowed me to check a couple rooms and pick the cleanest room and at least moldy room that I wanted . Definitely recommend taking all of their pillows and sheets, bringing your own and a plastic bed protector just in case there’s bedbugs but I did not see any bedbugs and then when you get home wash everything you have. Don’t let it touch any of your stuff at your house until it’s completely clean.

The floor wasn’t clean the sink had hair in it I saw a mouse the tv picture was horrible. I has to change rooms twice. I think I deserve some type of refund. It was just an overall terrible experience

We were in town for the Indianapolis 500. What we didn't like was paying over $200 per night for an $89 low quality hotel. We did not expect the Baymont brand to be this bad. Walking into the room, first you notice the shaking loose patched door security that wouldn't stop a lean, there were no hangers because there was no where to hang clothes, the bar had been removed. The bath tub was painted, the beautiful granite counters were 6 inches lower than standard, the bed clothing and towels had stains as well as the chair, and the carpeting turned socks black. The low flow shower head worked great, restricting waterflow to a mist. The room does have a mini refrigerator and microwave. Janky and sketchy at best.

Literally found a damn cockroach in our room and when we told them they didn’t even react to it, plus told me they will give me a refund but still haven’t even given me my refund yet. Terrible experience I suggest no one ever stay here

The hotel had a bad smell and when we got to our room the bathroom smelled like sewage. We had to keep the door closed so that the smell didn't spread to the entire room. They offered us another room but the situation was the same. We have stayed at Baymont hotels before but this one was very disappointing and we will never stay at this one ever again.

Room was disgusting! Not clean!

The staff was polite, but the room itself needs major upkeep before it should be offered to guests. The bathtub area was in poor shape. The caulking around the tub was cracked, peeling, and discolored, which made the entire space feel unclean. The tile surround also looked worn and neglected. For a space meant for bathing, it didn’t feel sanitary or well-maintained. The A/C unit was visibly dirty, with dust and grime built up in the vents. It also looked like it hadn’t been wiped down or serviced in a long time. This is especially concerning for guests with allergies or sensitivities. There was noticeable damage to the wall and baseboard near the entry area—wood exposed, cracked, and chipped. It gave the room a very poor first impression and made it feel run-down. The picture frame on the wall had shattered glass in it. Not only does it look terrible, but it’s a clear safety hazard. It should have been replaced long before a guest checked into the room. Overall, the room felt neglected and in need of a top-to-bottom refresh. I hope management takes these issues seriously.

The whole building smelled horrible and our room was dirty. We chose to leave even knowing our stay was non refundable. Would not recommend.

Mold in the bathroom, locks tore off the door, floor had stuff spilled all over it, noise was horrible!

It was a quiet hotel but the room was not very clean. There was dried toothpaste all over the bathroom door, a lighter intwined in the sheets my daughter found (she’s 7) when she pulled back the sheets, and the toilet paper roll had some nasty brown dots on it throughout the whole roll so we threw it away. The beds were not comfortable AT ALL, and the pool was very cold!

I didn’t like how the room smelled like cigarette smoke when I walked into my room. The walls are really thin so you can hear everyone’s conversation in the room next to you and from above.

We booked the place for its indoor pool for my kids. It was not available as they are fixing it. It should have been reflected prior to booking. Kids were disappointed. The beds were not comfortable. Saw some small spot of stain (red dots) on the bedsheets. The bed frame they use is like a metal that it makes sounds everytime you hit it. The breakfast is just average. Surrounding place is ok, easy access to restaurants.

The mattress was hard, it made a loud noise from the bed frame being metal. The pillows were thin. No coffee maker in the room.

It was an ok stay. Nothing stands out either good or bad. It was an average older hotel. It wasn’t what I expected from a Baymont. It was a room with a bed and bathroom.

They didn’t change the sheets the room was nasty no internet

The beds were comfortable, but the bed frame was very noisy. In general the room shows its age, it looked like the corners were never cleaned, there was a hole in the wall over the nightstand. When I booked the room I did this through a third party and prepaid, upon check-in I was mistakenly charged again and was told the refund was put through right away. I had to call and follow up on this twice after being charged for a 3rd time.

The property itself isn’t the problem. The fact that there was a person sleeping in the stairwell was Rey negative. Also the family above jumping up and down at 2 in the morning was also very disruptive!

The air conditioner worked liked crap was hot and uncomfortable. DEFINITELY NEEDS UPDATES. The locks need UPDATED the carpet in the hallways were discussing. Would not recommend to anyone.

Had an absolute nightmare of an experience here! I planned ahead MONTHS ago and booked this hotel for the 2024 eclipse. Apparently management had changed since I made my reservation and they would not honor it. I had the confirmation and even a reminder of my reservation from Expedia just two days before, but they didn’t care- they didn’t even say sorry, they deleted my reservation without contacting me and basically said “tough luck.” We drove 6hrs with our three children only to be stranded in the middle of the night with nowhere to stay. Ended up driving another ~30miles and paying an insane $400 for one night at another hotel. Shame on them and shame on Expedia. Horrible.

I waited for a while to get checked in. I had to call the front phone to get service. The property was not the greatest. It was very dirty in the parking lot area. The rooms were actually very clean and the beds were nice.

The front desk staff was awful. No one was available at any time during the day, always had to call to get them. The "breakfast" was non existent. Stale biscuits, No hot food except waffles, The juice was empty three days in a row. The coffee tasted burnt. I expect more from a Wyndham property. The only good thing is the bed was comfy and the room was relatively clean. The pool also closed at 9pm which is weird time. Thankfully I only slept in the room and didn't spent time on property.. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The staff did not recognise the booking made by Expedia, leaving me no alternative but to pay for the room again. The staff were ignorant and rude, the corridor smelt constantly of drugs. Absolute dump

Although I didn’t end up staying at this hotel due to a mistake on my part with the booking, I still felt compelled to leave a review because of the outstanding service I received. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help me during a stressful moment. They were incredibly kind, understanding, and patient while trying to assist me with rebooking options—even though it was my own error. Their professionalism and compassion truly stood out, and it's rare to find such genuine hospitality these days. If the level of care I received at the front desk is any indication of how the rest of the hotel operates, then I’m sure staying here would be a wonderful experience. I’m already looking forward to rebooking in the future and finally getting to enjoy a stay at what clearly is a well-run and customer-focused hotel. Thank you again to the amazing team!

This place is what a hotel should be. Sed at guest services is awesome and empathetic. Hotel is clean, quiet and offers complimentary shampoo, conditioner, lotion, Kleenex and coffee. This is what you expect at any hotel but so not the case in Indy. Baymont is exceptional in service. Book with them and ask for Sed

I fully understand that you get what you pay for. I also know for a weekend trip I don't require too many amenities. The big 3 for me are cleanliness, security/ safety and good overall business practices. That being said allow me to tell you about this place. The cleanliness of the room was on point for the most part. The business practices of this establishment are terrible. I paid for the room in advance with receipts reflecting that. Then I was charged again at check in. When I questioned why my card was charged again for a room I paid for in advance they plainly told me they knew they had charged my card needlessly and I firmly believe if I had not inquired about the over payment it would never have been refunded. I call this poor business practices at the very least. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night we were woke up at 3am by someone beating on our door looking for what I can only guess was another guest. I couldn't go back to sleep out of fear of who was wandering the halls at that hour. Whatever happened to the days when hotels were for travel and not residential living. The parking lot was filled with broke down cars filled with someone's belongings. Kids running up and down the halls yelling. Like I said you get what you pay for but I will never stay at another Baymont Hotel again. These used to be nice places to stay but if this is the standard of quality you get it's certainly not worth a dime.

The customer service was great and the room was clean just outdated. The bed was comfortable and they serviced the room every morning. Breakfast was hot but the fruit was old and in need of replacement. The coffee was a great start to a cold snowy day. Plenty of nearby restaurants and access to the expressway.

They couldn’t figure out how to combine my 2 reservations even though I had called weeks prior. No phone in room so I had to walk down to the desk 3 times to get toilet paper. They never brought the towel we asked for.

The hotel was in a terrible location. Smelled of weed and had barely any parking. The room we had we checked and the window was open. Took a bit to ger it closed and secured. Room was dirty but they were full so couldnt switch. Bed sheets had stains. The area was super sketchy had people in back of hotel where you had to park due to limited parking trying to ask for money. Do not go outside here alone. Very horrible experience especially for over $100 a night.

Great location with surrounding food options

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed at this property. We had a better experience this time than the last time. We chose it again because of the convenience of the location and the pricing. So for what it's worth it couldn't be beat.

Was concerned about individuals hanging around outside in parking lot. Staff were exceptional and spa best to alleviate fears. Room conditions were very outdated and not appealing.

Great location. Old, no structural upkeep. I expected better. I’ve stayed in many Baymont hotels and they were ten times better.

It showed signs of being an older hotel, but was nestled between two “nicer” hotels which gave peace of mind to my family. The employee was awesome and very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good and had hot options. I would stay again. It was minutes from location of volleyball tourney.

Can’t use pool unless someone 21 or older. The only thing for breakfast was cold food. Had to keep having key cards reset and fire alarm kept going off for no reason

Driving out to see the eclipse, I figured booking a room at the Baymont by Wyndham was a safe choice. Since I had stayed at their hotels many times in the past, I had no reason to think that we wouldn’t get an updated, clean room with all the usual amenities. Baymont by Wyndham Indianapolis East is the exact opposite. CONS: Baymont slapped their sign on an old Quality Inn that had gone out of business, and aside from the piles of drywall laying in the concession area on the first floor, it didn’t seem like any updates were being performed. Our room smelled like cigarettes and was filthy, with cobwebs and dirt in the corners of the floor by our beds, which creaked with every movement. The bathrooms are outdated and dirty. The walls are paper thin, and we could hear every word the people were saying next door. There were oftentimes people hanging out by the keyed exterior door waiting for someone to go out so they could get in, so we kept our photography equipment and personal items with us at all times. PROS: Breakfast was good. They have a waffle maker and offer biscuits and gravy, bagels, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. They have coffee, but no juice options. The staff was, in my opinion, genuinely concerned about the safety of their guests. On many occasions I noticed them spraying disinfectant on the door handles and light switches, and they also made routine security walks through the hallways. We won’t be staying at the Baymont by Wyndham Indianapolis again.

Average hotel in an average area. It was relatively inexpensive, so the saying "you get what you pay for" is accurate. Staff was OK. 2 stars for breakfast. Only waffles on the hot side. Only white bread for toast. And they were out of orange.
