Staybridge Suites Peoria Downtown by IHG

Hotel room was nice, clean, and had good air conditioning. The hot tub has been filled with concrete and the pool was green. At 11:15 am we got a phone call stating check out was 11am but on the back of the door with the emergency evacuation plan it states 12:00 noon. When we informed staff of what the sign said they told us we could have a late check out and could stay until 1pm

The hallways, stairways, and elevator were dirty. Renovation during my stay was loud (drilling and moving furniture above my head). The spa wasn't working. The AC in my room couldn't be adjusted for warmer temperatures (the limit was 70F) or couldn't be turned off - it was too cold for me. The doors of the rooms close very loud (the walls shake).

I enjoyed Staybridge greatly. My only complaint was I paid extra money to have a pool and hot tub. The website should have disclosed that their pool and hot tub were down for repair. I would have chosen a different hotel that would have given me the amenities I was paying for

Honestly, it wasn’t horrible except that they advertise as having a pool but the pool has been closed since March. No explanations. No mention by the front desk. Kind of soured our whole experience when we get into our swimsuits and head down to the pool area only to find a sign and the door locked. We would’ve booked a different hotel had we known all of this.

would’ve like a heads up about the pool being closed. other than that it was alright, a bit too pricey for what it was

The hotel, staff, and breakfast were all great. Our only complaint was we booked this hotel specially for the hot tub. There isn’t one. It’s cemented over. & the pool was on the colder side so we were only able to dip our feet in.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean. Shower was so awesome. Very disappointed that the hot tub doesnt work the man reason i booked there.

Under construction, pool closed and since this was a trip for little kids to swim, it would have been nice to know prior so we could make other arrangements. Evening appetizers advertised didn’t exist. Rate should reflect amenities that you don’t have.

Pool was closed, ROACHES, rude employees, remotes not working. Etc. Avoid at all cost.

The only positive about this hotel is that it’s walking distance to the civic center. Which might not be even good considering the area I didn’t feel safe seeing 3 masked teens checking car handles on parked cars and trying to break into civic center. The hotel is disgusting . Hair and toe nails in the shower . Furniture is old and nasty . The whole room was dirty and not even stocked with more than 1/2 roll of tp . The bananas at breakfast were completely brown . And after seeing roaches we just left. Spend extra money and stay elsewhere . There is only 2 bars to eat at within walking distance and 1 don’t open until after 5 and both get packed very quick . Again dont book here u less you possibly wanna take bugs back with ya.

This property was horrible! I wouldn't even give this property 1 star. When we arrived, we were given a room with 1 bed and a pullout sofa. I told my husband we booked a 2 bed room. He left to get a different room. At that point, my kids and I discovered there wasn't an active smoke detector over the bed- just the wires hanging down. We also noticed the bathroom door had a huge bar on it. We could not close the door. Upon looking closer, we noticed the door was off the hinge and the staff put the bar on the door so the guest could literally lift up one end of the door to drag it shut, My daughter then discovered a dirty sock in the nightstand drawer in the bedroom. My husband returned and said that we were unable to move because the hotel was sold out. Nope, not ok. We started showing him all the problems and it was at this point we noticed the mirror behind the bedroom door was filthy with handprints and smudges all over the bottom half. My husband went back downstairs to talk to the front desk clerk. We told him there was no way we would stay in that room. After a few minutes, the clerk offered him another room (same style with 1 bed & a pullout sofa) down the hall. It was late, so we figured we would check it out. Upon walking in, I noticed the fridge looked tinted dark. It wasn't the coloring, it had a massive stain down the front of it! This hotel was a pigsty & I wouldn't even recommend it to an enemy!!

We had bed bugs in two different rooms both on the couches. First room we seen one crawling on the couch and the second room, later that night, one bit my niece while she was lying down on that couch in the second room. After all that we just checked out the same night, which was right before Thanksgiving about 8:30pm and went back home to Ohio that same night. They offered to move us to a 3rd room but all the rooms have couches and we didn't want to take that chance so we left. They refunded one night back.

Newly remodel so a bit smell of the construction cement. But there are small ants. Staffs are great.

The property was not as clean. The towels were dirty and the bed sheets also appeared to be dirty

The hotel room was not very clean. The sofa bed mattress was filthy when we pulled it out. The outside of refrigerator and microwave looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

We had to request new sheets for the bed as they were dirty and had stains on them. No one offered us a new room or to change the sheets for us. Breakfast didn’t begin until 7:30 which was a huge inconvenience as we were there for our kids sporting events and needed to leave the hotel before breakfast was available. Every guest we spoke with as we all waited in line to get breakfast was upset about the late breakfast times. I was also charged an extra fee and we didn’t leave the room in a mess or destroy anything. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

My tv didn’t work told them twice was never fixed. Worse stay there ever

This hotel is still undergoing a renovation. It's really looking good but not quite finished. The room was really nice with a full sized refrigerator, 2 burner stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Breakfast was good including eggs and waffles. We had a very comfortable stay.

Safe and quiet. Excellent room with full kitchen and separate bedroom with living quarters area. Easy parking and places to walk to for shopping and food.

The hotel was undergoing some major renovations as was evident by the mountain of old furnishings and appliances in the East end parking lot. Well that did not affect me in anyway the only issue I had was that my room, being close to the elevator, did not have Wi-Fi working during my entire stay. It was necessary to go to the lobby to use wi-Fi. Everything else I thought was stellar including the morning breakfast. I would definitely stay again

Hotel is under renovations. Pros: Rooms are nice, breakfast ok-nothing special. Cons: Hotel is in "downtown", but without car you can not even buy a water. Front desk cleark was MIA, chilling out at the patio while we were wanting to check-in, with another guest. His welcome area looked like his personal storage. No extra blanket for the pull-out bed, and whoever left their soap in the bathroom, it is still there! Patio is a total mess and pool looked very green, so we skipped it. No hot tub...

I will say the pillows are better then most hotels. Unfortunately, not even 5 mins into a shower, the hot water turned cold. Upon going to the front desk, it sounds like it's a known issue and the building is under renovation but there is no signs or postage of it online. This would've had a huge impact on where I chose to stay. Conditioner dispenser is also broken making it for a rough AM start. Dishes left in the cabinet still had food residue. Bagels at breakfast were rock hard. Not a good price for the value

Fridge didn’t work in the first room moved us rooms and fridge didn’t work there either

Room was in great shape, renovated recently. Great location near our intended visit. Down side... noisy outside near busy street, lots of traffic noise and bumpin' tunes throughout night. Pillows were akin to sandbags.

Had issues checking in because nobody at front desk. Coffee left from last guest in room, and fire alarm going off at 4am. I've had better stays at much cheaper hotels.

Waited 30 minutes at front desk for check in. Had to call some 800 number that then told us to wait one more minute. Ended up standing up front for almost an hour before someone finally came to check us in

I booked this hotel for my groomsmen to get ready at for my wedding. Upon check in, I was informed they had a new policy that did not allow anyone who lived locally to book rooms. They were absolutely unhelpful, unapologetic, and only stated “we won’t charge you.” The money was still taken out of my account for the room and I have yet to see it back yet. If you’re from the area, please beware they will not allow you to book through them.

Very clean and modern hotel. Good location for downtown events. Only negative is some staff are not properly trained to handle check in correctly/charging cards).

Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a great variety and tasted as good as any restaurant. Food service staff even came talk to us, she was friendly and polite. Long line for check in and took 35 minutes to get a room. Check in clerk was friendly and polite.

I made a reservation weeks ago for myself, daughter, and nieces. This was a girls’ night out staycation. At least it was supposed to be. After confirming my reservation several times before check in, I was rejected at the counter. I was told that Peoria residents were not welcomed at this hotel. The attendant pulled a makeshift clipboard from under the counter with this information highlighted in yellow. I was told that my reservation should have been cancelled due to having an Illinois license with a Peoria address. I was asked to hurry up and get out before other out of state customers became nervous. I found it to be a racial issue. My daughter was traumatized.

The hotel was close to the convention center which worked for me. The hotel had a fire alarm go off at 2 am while we were sleeping -- they did not call it in within the 5 minutes - I CALLED IT IN - and the 911 operator was surprised. Then - it went off again a little after 3 a.m. -- apparently the fire alarm was not connected to the fire departments alert system. THEN - I made also made a 1 night reservation the night before my expedia reservation took place. The hotel charged my credit card for TWO nights - for the one night I was there - before this reservation took place... so a double charge. NOT GOOD> I am still haggling over that. I will not go back there.

Check in was so fast and easy and convenient the staff is welcoming answered every question I had definitely recommend for your next stay you won’t be disappointed

That gave are room away after confirming hours before it was ready when we got there they said they were overbooked and had no room for us.

We were in town, for a state track & field meet, and I had booked this hotel, well in advance. We were going to be checking in late, so I called ahead, and was assured my reservation would be held. We later arrived, only to be told, "we don't have any rooms". When I attempted to question this, because we had a reservation, AND I called to ensure it, I was told to "calm down", and basically that I was lying about calling. When I showed her my call log, on my phone, she said, "If it rings more than 8 times, the call goes "somewhere else", which made no sense, plus it only rang about 3 times, when I called. I was really trying to understand why we didn't have a room, but was told that they "overbooked" and "that's just how they do it". She did say that they had ONE available room, but it was only for "platinum members". Needless to say, this was quite upsetting, as most hotels were fully booked, due the event, and we were very tired, it was late, and we were in a town that we were not familiar with. Luckily, our friends were staying at the nearby Marriott, and they had a cancelation, so we were able to stay there. Overall, this was a bad experience, and a terrible way to do business.

Reasonably priced and just moments away from downtown peoria.

Excellent service at this hotel. It isn't in the best area of Peoria, but still very close to downtown and Bradley University. We will be staying here again.

Hotel was close to the convention center. Check in was easy. They were doing some repairs at the entrance and the pool was closed for remodel (was noted on app hefore we booked). Over all a nice stay. Rooms could use a few touch ups. Will probably stay there again if I'm in the area.

We are frequent concert attendees and ALWAYS book here! Not only is the location incredibly convenient for any Civic Center events, the staff is always welcoming and helpful. The new renovations are top notch and this is by far one of my favorite hotels to stay at! We will definitely return!

It’s a little noisy because of downtown but service was excellent! Property is currently being updated and will be amazing once completed. Very kind staff and responsive. Overall was an excellent stay

This is the place to stay when you’re in town for any events at the Civic Center. It is just a short walk across the street. We love it here!

Staff was nice. Property was clean and taken care of. Service was slightly lacking because front desk wasn't always there and at breakfast things ran out and didn't get refilled very quick...even 2 hours later they still hadn't brewed more coffee. Great place, just a little room to improve.

The staff was excellent - very friendly and courteous. The rooms were gross and halfway clean. I had ants in my room and the smell still hasn't left me. Breakfast was great but the soda machine didn't work for the two days I was there. Uber takes an average of 15 minutes to get you.
