Hampton Inn Freeport/Brunswick

Katie at the front desk was great. Beds are incredibly uncomfortable and definitely not queen sized as advertised. Pool was closed more than half of our stay as was the exercise room.

Easy access off Road 1. Easy access to Freeport by car. Free parking. Staff is helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Loved the night light in the bathroom. Next door to a grocery store. Any improvement would be to shampoo/clean carpet in the halls.

My family and I always try to stay at the Hampton Inn whenever we travel. We have taken mutiple trips this year andnthis Hampton while still good was disappointing. The hotel is showing its age. From the dated and dark breakfast area to the basically "empty" and equally dark "market" area. My son is 6 and just recently learned to swim over the summer and his usual favorite part of the stay is the warm Hampton Inn pool was almost too old and grimy to swim in. I didn\'t want to disappoint him so we went swimming but it was not a pleasant experience. Last but not least having a 6 year old who remembers everything, he was incredibly disappointed to learn the hotel didn\'t offer the 6 o\'clock cookie. We were told that the practice was stopped when covid hit but we have stayed at plenty of other Hamptons which still continue the service.

It was clean and there was plenty of parking

The room was kept at too cold of temperature. It was in the 60’s. We brought in our car blanket and used the spare blanket in the closet to keep warm. The ac was not adjustable. Also looking for some swimming. The pool was not inviting. Looked green and nothing we would swim in. A four day get away for these two seniors was not what we had hoped

Quiet easy parking gym and breakfast

Nice facility on the newer side. Clean and well maintained. Nice gym and pool. Breakfast was fair overall but better than average for hotel "free" breakfasts. One complaint. Elevator far from the lobby. Really needs 2 elevators or better placement of the one elevator

I was very pleased with the accommodations. We were greeted promptly and pleasantly upon check in. The room was clean had plenty of towels and the bed was comfortable. The TV offered plenty of channels to watch. The continental breakfast gave you both hot and cold selections and was very good. I did not use the gym however, it was equipped with up to date machines. Pool appeared nice as well. Close proximity to I-295, Downtown Freeport and a some very nice restaurants. I would recommend the Hampton Inn if you are looking for a nice, reasonably priced place to stay.

The room smelled stale, like it used to be a smoking room. The toilet seat was NOT clean.

Very outdated property that desperately requires new carpeting (stained and dirty). Staff was great.

No carpeting, Vinyl flooring in entire room. Floor was filthy, my feet bottoms were always dirty. Bathroom smelled of urine.

Firstly I am a Hilton rewards member. This was by far the most disappointing experience I have had with the chain hotels. Staff were extremely friendly but then we arrive to our room to find it extremely dirty. The bathroom had long black hair throughout, on mirror, floors and tub. I cleaned most of it due to arriving late and needing rest. Cob webs in bathroom with spiders, etc.. needless to say we will never return to this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights. After the first night we had to ask them to change our sheets. The fitted sheet was too small for the mattress so when you sat on the bed it came off on the corners and bunched up under you as you slept. The second morning the water in the bathroom was brown. Carpets in the hall need replacing. Lots of stains.

Hamptons are usually my first choice when looking for accommodations, and I have stayed at this particular Hampton in the past several times without complaint. However, the room was very dirty this time; hair in the tub and large clumps of hair and dust on the bathroom floor. I suspect it had been a while since a broom or vacuum had been used in that particular room.

You know how you say ‘at least it was clean’? Not in this case! The shower had multiple strands of hair in it, hair in the sink too. Dirty smudges and near-perfect handprints on the walls. The mattress was old- springy and lopsided. Won’t be back.

Big room and bathroom. Quiet! Started in Nashville, Manhattan, Rochester and here. This was the best stay.

Purchased the room with queen beds…received double beds. Otherwise everything was great!

She must have been in a BAD mood because she was slamming lids down and getting tiffy with people. The breakfest its self was pretty lame, fake eggs and absolutely no meat. No sausage or bacon. It also was a tight room. I've just had better at other Hampton Inns.

Big room, clean and spacious

This hotel failed in its one primary function: to provide a comfortable place to sleep. The bed springs literally creaked every time you moved, and you could feel the springs poking you all night long. It was like sleeping on a 30 year old sofa bed. When we asked to move to a room with better beds, we were told all the beds were like that. Further, the hallway smelled dank, like an old basement in need of mold removal. While everything looked clean, the smell and the condition of the beds indicated a renovation was sorely overdue.

No cell service and wifi was unuseable could not get work done

Loved this hotel. Great location. Clean. Room was spotless. Very nice breakfast. My only complaint is that the blackout curtains only covered the wall and didn't continue over the window. So we only had a sheer curtain over the window. I like a pitch black room for sleeping - so I didn't appreciate that - besides it seemed weird. Why have a curtain for a wall and not the window? Other than that - I would totally stay here again and recommend it to others!

We’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times and have had very, very good experiences until now. First, the hotel was easily $100 more per night than comparable hotels in the area. With taxes and the pet fee it was well over $400/night! Second, they were having a boiler problem and there was no hot water when we arrived. The water that did come out was brown! When we complained, we were met with a shrug of the shoulders. The brown water continued until the next morning and we were not able to bathe. Third, our room was barely a closet. It was so small it didn’t even have a closet! Just some hangers on hooks behind a curtain. We always get the same type of room. I don’t know what this was but it was not the room we were expecting or had paid for. It was certainly not worth $400 /night! Fourth, the hvac unit was so loud it sounded like we were sleeping in a washing machine! Without it on the room quickly became stifling so no sleep that night for us. When we mentioned it the next day at check out, we were again greeted with a shrug! We were disappointed at the facilities and the service. Particularly since we have had very good experiences here! We won’t be staying here again!

Kids live with my ex wife in Yarmouth Maine so stay at this property very frequently. I usually have a great experience however theres one heavy set woman with reddish hair that makes my stay thrre intolerable. Very unfriendly and not helpful whatsoever. Im

Medical Marijuana users beware! My husband is a licensed medical marijuana user, who prepared his medicine in room. They charged us another night's stay and said we smoked in the room. No one smoked in the room. To top it off, they never informed us of the policy that we would be charged a night's stay if any odor is present. There is nothing listed on Expedia about it, nothing in my confirmation email, and I was neither informed of the policy upon check-in nor was I asked to sign anything acknowledging I understood the policy. I left both a voice message and a written email to the general manager over a week ago to discuss this and never received a response. I have filed a dispute with my card issuer, and will be both reporting to corporate the BBB.

Outdated - has carpet squares Carpet around the air conditioner was wet from it leaking. They do not accommodate food allergies. Staff was rude about my grandchild’s peanut allergy. She said the hotel was full and she didn’t have time to find out needed information about foods being served.

My annual shopping and leaf peeping trip to Freeport. Great hotel: friendly and efficient front desk, comfortable bed and room, fluffy towels. One glitch when I first arrived but desk clerk Cortney fixed it immediately! Will definitely stay here next year and bring my cat again, too!

Good location for a hotel to be close to all the shopping

I had a great stay in Freeport! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near shops and restaurants. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help with local tips. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience—I'd definitely stay there again!

This is an older Hampton Inn. It has a great location and the staff was very helpful. Parking area is limited due to walkway renovations.

The breakfast staff did an excellent job of keeping the food stocked on a busy weekend. I also loved how close it was to the shopping district.

The woman at the front desk was very nice and moved us to a different room because there were families with loud kids near by. The new room was quiet but the shower we could not adjust the head to hit the middle of the shower it was more faced to the wall. The breakfast, that’s where things got a little sketchy. The pecans for the oatmeal were old and the potatoes had a sour taste. The waffle was good.

Breakfast is poor quality. Eggs are prefab and not healthy. Fairfield inn serves real scrambled eggs. Coffee was terrible and they do not offer dark roast. Staff was nice but told me they couldn’t print my bill because I went through Travelocity. Yet I opted to pay at the hotel so they should have printed me a bill. I have never had a Hampton Inn tell me that. Room was very clean. Roll down black out shade does not black out the morning light.
