I had a good experience staying at the Goldener Falke. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the space was very quiet. The location truly can’t be beat - facing the main square, a 5-minute walk to the Rhine, and a 2-minute walk to the bus stop to the main station station (5-minute ride). The restaurant was also excellent, with wonderful service. Overall, I’m glad to have stayed here. But I should mention that they are a restaurant that rents rooms, rather than a full-service hotel. This means that they don’t have a secure space for holding luggage if one arrives before or departs the city after check-in (or, if they have one, I wasn’t offered it). I still had a lovely stay, but I hope my mentioning this info helps others not be caught by surprise.

We would have given a 5 if the Laundry service was available. I specifically asked and booked this hotel because they said they had laundry service. We were told that laundry was not available because they needed the laundry for room linens

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldener Falke. The location is directly on the Market Square ... fabulous. The restaurant serves wonderful German cooking and the breakfast was great. We had a room on the top (4th) floor. The lift only goes to the 3rd floor and then there are steep stairs to the top. We found this difficult with our luggage. We had a great view of the castle from our room. The staff were very friendly.

Leider war die gebuchte Suite nicht Rollstuhl-gängig. Auf gab es keinen Lift in die Suite! In diesem Wissen hätte ich das Zimmer vorgängig storniert. Im Beschrieb des Zimmers ist nichts der Gleichen vermerkt. Es wurde ein kleines 3-Bett Zimmer angeboten zum gleichen Preis! Der Aufenthalt war für meine Familie leider eine Enttäuschung.

Hotel is in old town square with very difficult access by car on very narrow streets, one-way traffic, and pedestrian-only areas. Parking structure is 2 small blocks away so must drag luggage through cobblestone streets. Once checked in . . . The location has good access to open pedestrian walking area shopping, bars, lunch and dinner. Room is adequate for 1 night stay. - very small shower, window opened facing a wall/building 2 ft away. Breakfast was a good German style buffet.

Hotels.com show this hotel as having on site parking with an EV charger. It doesnt.. We arrived on a saturday afternoon with the streets heaving with people, all out for a walk, drink, food. Try as we might we could not get near to the hotel so ended up using an underground multi storey. We then walked to find the hotel and check in. This is when the hotel advised they dont have parking, nor an EV charger but have arrangements with one of the multi storey car parks, just not the one we were in. Is this a Hotels.com issue or the hotel. Either way it needs to be clarified. That said we loved this hotel, even though the lift only went to floor 3 and we were on 4. We had an early dinner here and then joined the mass of people walking the streets. The hotel faces onto the square, with views of the impressive church.

The Goldener Falke was a great location. Traveled with a family of 3-the room was large, although floors sloped dramatically. We chalked that up to character. The beds were comfortable and clean. Checkin was at the adjoining restaurant. It was a little hard to find parking (didnt find the ramp that was recommended) and then drag luggage a few blocks along cobblestone streets. We visited during Christmas market time so the area was busy beautiful and fun!

Para mim não é hotel, são quartos em cima de um restaurante. Sem estacionamento como dito. Funcionários nada simpatico, quarto muito velho, sem manutenção, com moveis mal cuidados, roupa de cama rasgada, sem capricho, banheiro pequeno, sujo.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht da, daher kann ich nicht allzuviel sagen. Das Zimmer war gross, sauber und das Bett bequem. Frühstück ebenfalls gut. Mitten im Zentrum, deswegen sind Geräusche nicht zu vermeiden. PP im nahe gelegen PH perfekt und Preis sehr gut.

Excellent location with a view of the Marktplatz. The room was a comfortable size for 3 persons. Everything was impeccably clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was wonderful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good location, good breakfast and overall a pleasant German atmosphere. However: - No cleaning at all although i stayed 3 nights!! Not even clean towels or bed made up…. - there is a note in the room stating they don’t clean for stays of 2 nights or less for “environmental reasons”. Hard to believe as it feels more like lack of staff. - the room was pretty noice; Not from outside but more from somewhere in the building (loud music or TV, also Surinaamse night) I would consider to stay again due to location, breakfastwand atmosphere but only if they can guarantee decent cleaning of the room and at least a daily check of towels, curtains and bed.

We loved the location of this hotel to have access to the Heidelberg Castle (the funicular to get there is around the corner, about 3 minutes walk) and to the Heidelberg Bridge and Neckar River. The breakfast was wonderful and Eva was always smiling & pleasant. Other staff members were also nice. Since the hotel is near restaurants and bars there were loud screams, talking, and laughing til the wee hours of the morning. Since our room fronted the main street and it was hot, we left our windows open therefore we had a hard time sleeping til the bars closed and it was quiet. Also in the morning there are loud noises from the streets being cleaned and trash being picked up (good things). If I return, I'll ask for a room not facing the main street. On another note, there was a lot of dust underneath the beds. We saw this as we were looking for something that fell. In general this was a nice hôtel, great location with a pedestrian friendly area, tasty breakfast, and good people working there.

The room was available when stated. It was clean and we had a perfect view over the Market Platz. Breakfast was very good! We had a wonderful time. Location was amazing, minutes from the river and from the schloss.

The hotel is in a great location and staff are really helpful. The bed was super comfortable. Sadly we asked for a quiet room but we overlooked the main square and it was quite noisy. Our room was not serviced, even though we left the sign on the door for servicing. The hotel staff in reception supplied us with things we needed like toilet paper and new towels and water. If you are going in winter, they have no AC but you can open the windows.

Our room completely exceeded our expectations! We were a little surprised that there wasn't an actual check in desk, you have to walk through a restaurant to get into the hotel but the staff were very kind and helpful. Once we got to our room, we loved it! The bed was so comfortable and cozy, we slept fantastic! But, the views from our room were just breathtaking! The robes and slippers were just another bonus. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area. This location is the absolute best!!

If you want to feel like you are staying inside a frat house because you love drunk noise, this is the hotel for you. We stayed in a two room suite directly above the picnic tables, and we had a terrible time sleeping. The noise ricochets off of the church and directly into the rooms.

The location of the Goldener Falke is amazing, basically at the foot of the castle and right on the main market square of Old Town Heidelberg. The Goldener Falke has a lengthy history which can be viewed on its website. It is set up as a restaurant with multiple rooms which were comfortable, typically European compact and clean, but not air conditioned. If we visit Heidelberg again, which I hope we do, I would stay here—as long as it’s not the hottest part of the summer.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our Euros trip. Location wise excellent and walkable to all areas. The hotel staff very very friendly. It was extremely humid when we were there and no air con unfortunately so sleeping was difficult but we enjoyed it none the less

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldener Falke. The location is directly on the Market Square ... fabulous. The restaurant serves wonderful German cooking and the breakfast was great. We had a room on the top (4th) floor. The lift only goes to the 3rd floor and then there are steep stairs to the top. We found this difficult with our luggage. We had a great view of the castle from our room. The staff were very friendly.

Arrived early and checked in easily, helped with luggage, brilliant position on the Marktplatz (short taxi ride from station), right in centre of all Heidelberg’s sights, restaurant good with breakfast included, and great assistance from staff esp when sorting bus to return to station when leaving. Restaurant und Hotel waren bei unserer Ankunft geschlossen. Unter der angegebenen Telefonnummer war niemand zu erreichen. Sind dann mit bestehenden Hotelgästen mitgelaufen und haben auf Mitarbeiter gewartet. Zimmer sind mit viel Charme eingerichtet, das Bett ist aber ausserordentlich weich.

Excellent location if you want to be close to Main Street and the Marktplatz in Heidelberg. Most everything is in walking distance. Hotel is old but reasonably maintained. Restaurant is above average and reasonably priced. Staff worked hard to make things right.

The location is amazing, right on the town center plaza in the middle of everything. Charming historic building. Extremely friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Near the corner of the square so easily accessible for taxi. Short walk to anywhere in Heidelberg. Lovely outside seating. Our room overlooked the square so heads up you may hear some early morning activity..street cleaners, delivery trucks, etc. To us this was part of the charm.

The location is excellent, it is right at the town square within walking distant to all the shops, restaurants and landmarks. It feels like a traditional Bed and Breakfast, staff are friendly.

The location of the Goldener Falke is amazing, basically at the foot of the castle and right on the main market square of Old Town Heidelberg. The Goldener Falke has a lengthy history which can be viewed on its website. It is set up as a restaurant with multiple rooms which were comfortable, typically European compact and clean, but not air conditioned. If we visit Heidelberg again, which I hope we do, I would stay here—as long as it’s not the hottest part of the summer.

The Goldener Falke is a great place to stay if you want to stay near Old Town Heidelberg. The location can't be beat. The staff was super friendly and the room was awesome. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in. The room was clean and well appointed. Our room faced the square, which at first made me worried about the noise at night but the restaurants seem to close up about 10:00 so that wasn't an issue for sleeping. The breakfast, which was included, was great. It had everything we wanted to eat and then some. I would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was perfect, right where you want to be! Easy walk to all shops, restaurants and of course the Heidelberg Castle. The hotel breakfast was great. Our room was clean and even though we didn’t have air, we opened the windows and got a nice breeze!

On our road trips we come across a lot of hotels. This is hands down the best hotel we have stayed at. It's old with charachter and really nice, in a perfect location and the team is very friendly. Breakfast is amazing btw. Parking is a challenge if you carry a roofbox or have a tall car, but the hotel team helped resolve that. This is a place we will come back to.

Loved this hotel. It was right on the market square in downtown Heidelberg. Being over 300 years old, the inside was charming and had the feel of old Germany. Our room was great, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, and the breakfast was enjoyable. I even had a beautiful view of the castle outside my window. One thing to know is there is no parking right at the hotel, but we just unloaded our suitcases and parked in a garage nearby.

The room was clean and spacious, but there was no kettle, which was disappointing, as we both enjoy tea and coffee in bed while on holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we took the opportunity of enjoying the traditionally cooked food out on the street, and breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Parking was subsidised by €5, so it came to €15 a day at a car park 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. A good, friendly hotel and I would consider a stay here next time in Heidelberg. It is not modern, but it was friendly, and the location was perfect. Thank you.
