Sonesta ES Suites Detroit Warren

We’ve stayed at this hotel before and it was great. This time-they’re doing renovations and the pool & patio were closed. The bathroom was not very clean, neither was the caroet

It was good for the price. They are remodeling right now and the staff was very helpful.

First it was construction where we were. They were doing work on the hotel. So finding a place to park was difficult. The room setup was nice but the chair was old and the couch needed cleaning. It had a big stain on the carpet. Room smell musty. I didn't know people live their 24/7 we saw people standing outside looking at us as we got out to go too our room. My TV in the front was not working. I called they told me someone would come in the morning to check it out. The person living above me sound like they were coming threw the ceiling all night. Me and my wife was coming from dinner and was greeted by a pit bull coming down the stairs. The lady asked where we was going. And said the dog was friendly my wife was freaking out. She took him back in her room. So we could walk up the stairs. A lot of people living there have dogs that they let walk around.more then one pit bull. The next day we got out the car too a dog barking at us . No owner anywhere in site . Again my wife was scared to walk to our room. And we were woke up to dogs barking in their rooms . I would never stay their again. Everyone seems like their friends around the place. It was my birthday get away. So we made the best of the stay.

Took this grandson there for his birthday to go swimming but the pool was closed

Price was good for our requirements. Reno's made for slight inconvenience

The property is under heavy renovations. Also the room is not clean and the door is hard to close.

The staff were all very kind and accommodating. Especially Bob. He went above and beyond to help us with our room keys and we forgot our pizza from dinner at front desk. Instead of calling us. He ran it up to our room. Everyone was so kind. The only real complaint is the water pressure was so low and it took forever to shower. Also our room was soooooo far from the entrance and there’s only 1 ELEVATOR for this HUGE complex! If I could not park somewhat closer to my room next time, I don’t see myself staying there again.

when i came from out of town i guess they were remodeling but i didn’t know my room was right next to what they were working on so i didn’t get any sleep in the morning

The staff was accommodating & friendly. No issues with them. The carpet in our room wasn’t clean to our satisfaction & the furniture was quite tattered & dingy. Early morning Construction noise was very uncomfortable.

I didn't like that the rim smelled like cigarette smoke, bedside phone inoperable, coffee maker had green molded filters inside, carpet was filthy with crumbs & stains, right outside the door was a nasty stained spill drawing bugs, bath tub had dirty ring inside, shower curtain liner was filthy, toilet seat was smeared with water stains, gave towels were old & worn, couch was dirty & kitchen leather high chairs were torn.

Even though I have stayed in these hotels before this one was probably the most disappointed. The room was not very clean the towels were hard there was hair in my tub and it smells like cigarette smoke all throughout I was leery about getting in the shower because of the mold underneath the the products. The TVs did not work well only got a few channels and they were fuzzy not HD as stated. The staff was very nice even the maintenance man I came to help me in the middle of the night.

The person who checked us in, Katie, was kind, welcoming and cheerful. The check-in process was very easy. When we initially checked in and went to our room, the room was dirty. There was visible dirt on doors and walls. The sofa cushions were stained and when we pulled out the sofa bed the mattress also had multiple bright stains on and the sheets were just set inside. We asked for a new room and despite being fully booked, Katie got us a clean room and some clean sofa bed sheets, pillows, and towels. Due to having an event to get to, we had to drop our stuff in the room and go. When we came back, the hallways stunk of weed, the sofa in our new room also had stains on it, the comforter on the bed had stains, there were cob webs in corners, and multiple items like the chairs and end tables had greasy and/or sticky stuff all over them. Our family was so uncomfortable in the room, we slept for a couple of hours and took off very early. I appreciate the staff trying to make it right, but I will never stay at a Sonesta again or recommend it to anyone.

The rooms were not clean - had to kill several flies. Cannot control guests but upstairs guest s kept us up most of the night. Paid too much for the condition of the property

This property was absolutely disgusting! Please don’t book a room here ever!! Roaches, dirty sheets, dirty carpet, dirty curtains, broken furniture, blood on the bedding. This place was absolutely horrible!! I want a refund from my stay! I only stayed for the night because of the wedding party I was apart of, other than that I would've left.

The rooms are generous in size but dated. The carpet was stained, the towels were worn out and in general, the room was not very clean.

The room was disgusting from top to bottom, the couch was filthy and had stains and dirt on it, the fold out bed had stains on the bottom, the walls had marks has smears all over, the place was disgusting and I would never come back.

I was initially in a room that smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. I went to the front desk and the gentleman moved me to another room. I kept apologizing and he said not a problem and that he wanted me to be comfortable so that was nice. My room wame the cleanest. Very dirty in the tracks of windows and the closet. I probably won't stay here again.

I was inconvenient twice during check in and going back to my room because my room door did not work. The guest service let me in but did not follow through in informing engineer the problem. Also, went to breakfast and had to wait additional 20 minutes to get in my room.

Some things in room not up to par. Closet door sliders off track. Diverter in bathroom dripping. No usb charging stations

Good stay could use some updates

Good location near major highway. Room was generally clean except for dust on the ceiling near bathroom fan and windowsills. Comfortable bed. No oven, but dishwasher and 2 burner stove.

Well like I said the sofa bed my son slept on needs to be renewed. It was a step up from the other Sonesta simply suites hotel I've gone to do many times their sofa beds looked like a frier and a murder happened and the treat their guess like dirt. But his Sonesta ES hotel the staff was very nice. However, I was extremely upset at the hidden fee of 150.00 deposit I had to pay that I was not aware of and I had already paid for my room. This was the second time I was hit with hidden fees that hotels.com did not have listed in the booking. I don't like that. Start mentioning hidden fees so the customer is not railroaded it going to cause people to stop using your app.

Kiki at the front desk was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Yelling and screaming and smacking the desk just cause I asked a question about the fact that she was saying check out was at 11 yet the paper we signed said 12. Horrible experience for staying here for one night. She also said we were all set yet hadn't even given us keys. Asked for a manager and she refused to get one but with how loud and rude she was 2 of them came. Room is not clean! Many areas of the room you can tell are completely untouched. One of the curtains missing completely. Room is supposed to come with silverware dishes and pots and pans yet they barely have any for a room that sleep 4. One fork for up to 4 people. Seriously. Bedroom remote didn't work. Wifi was terrible as well

Hotel told me that it was the fault of hotels that I booked but they didn’t have a room available. I heard , well you booked through a third party. And after hearing that there was in fact a room available, but the bed wasn’t made ; a late night employee was asked to make it and wasn’t at all interested. When I told the front desk about all of my concerns and hearing this employee not seeming concerned, she actually said “well that’s not here nor there”???? I wonder if hotel chain management, who obviously USE third party services, know that their employees BLAME them!

The property had either a defective card reader or a defective employee. Four separate holds were placed on my card for the room deposit and now I have to wait who knows how long for it to be released back to me. Secondly there was one remote for two tvs and it didn’t have batteries. There were two phones in the suite and neither worked. The cooking space was dirty. The refrigerator was dented up in several places and dirty in the outside. And there was dust everywhere.

Staff was amazing and friendly, breakfast wasn’t what was advertised on the website but it was ok. Our room had a fireplace and they provided a log for it which was nice. Overall it was a good experience and the price was right.

We had a reservation and arrived to be told there were no rooms available.

I called and talked to one of the front desk people and I told her that we will arrive late. When we arrived around 4 am in the morning due to the long drive and the traffic in Chicago areas. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk person couldn’t check in for us till about 1 hour later. At first, we were told that our room had been canceled due to late arrival. I had to call Expedia to change the date in order for her to check our room for us. It was my first time experiencing this problem. We’re disappointed how it happened. I hope they would be made it easier customers their customers.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Michigan, checking in on Friday, July 5th, and checking out on Sunday, July 7th. This isn't the first time I've stayed in a similar hotel; I previously stayed at one in Tempe, Arizona. Quite honestly, my experience there was not up to par. However, this time in Michigan, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel room was spacious and quiet, and while the cleanliness wasn't perfect, it was acceptable. Most importantly, the location in Warren, Detroit, was very convenient. It was close to many places where I needed to conduct business and visit friends and family. I recommend this hotel for families, especially the suite with two bedrooms. The price was very reasonable, and I felt that I got good value for my money. I would definitely recommend this place.

I moved from a terrible hotel to this one, and glad I did. Quiet, comfortable, with plenty of dining options nearby.

The stay was very nice relaxing peaceful the breakfast was wonderful the pool was nice kind of small but nice the location good everything you need was around us that was perfect so yes I would stay at the Sonesta suites again 👍

If you’re going to stay near Detroit this is a great hotel! It has renovated rooms spacious clean, it’s not the best area because your near Detroit but it’s tucked away in an industrial park high is always good for hotel stays.

Sonesta hotels are usually great. However, this property is only so-so. Inside hotel looks fine, bed sleeps fine, AC works great, and police station is across the street. The windowsill is dirty, patio is dirty, & bathroom toilet did not flush well. The exterior is bad and needs alot of repair. The smell of weed is present outside at all times once you step outside of your room. This property would not be good for family with little kids unless you are desperate in need of a place to rest for only a night. Best for solo travelers who are adult and can withstand the smell and budget reasons.

Not close to shopping or eating. But a nice place to stay

It was a good Extended Stay right next to the local police station.

Something has to be done about guest behavior. Some of us do not partake in smoking cigarettes or other products. The smell and smoke permeate all areas. The complimentary breakfast had limited selections and quantities.

The stay was very nice relaxing peaceful the breakfast was wonderful the pool was nice kind of small but nice the location good everything you need was around us that was perfect so yes I would stay at the Sonesta suites again 👍

This is our second time staying and it was good both times. They are actively improving and remodeling. Staff is always professional and friendly. I would say adding fresh fruit like strawberries, berries or even pineapple what's ever is in season to the breakfast menu would be a treat. Keep up the good work. We will likely see you next year.

My stay was good. The staff were nice and the fitness center, basketball court, and pool were great as well. My only issue was the lack of clean towels and washcloths available. We stayed 4 nights and while we got fresh towels on night 3, we were never able to get fresh washcloths after the first night and had to use hand towels instead.

Morning breakfast was plentiful and tasty. KeKe was amazing… Very hospitable and professional.

The staff was terrific and they offered free breakfast. Thank-You!
