This is an older property, so bear that in mind, I thought it was great value for a short city break. It was an excellent location for seeing a concert at the Commodore Ballroom (3 minutes walk) and for exploring downtown Vancouver. I highly recommend the breakfast at their cafe, it was freshly cooked and delicious and the latte had the most beautiful swan latte art! The front office staff were very kind and helpful. For the price, I thought this place rocked and I would stay again for another concert visit!

The Moda always offers excellent service and location. On-site restaurants are excellent snd convenient, the small wine/beer/spirits shop next door has decent prices, and its location makes it emine tly walkable, regardless of the weather. Add to that the secure parking across the street and proximity to other shopping, and you really can't beat it.

The room was fine, the location of the hotel is great. The problem...horrendous parking information. We have a Ford Explorer with a Yakima rack...height is about 6'8". It took us 90 min to find a parking spot for our Explorer. It was 1 block away, at a cost 2x what you parking fees were. Suggestions: 1) Clearly state the height restrictions for your hotel parking (6'6"). 2) Do NOT send folks who won't fit to an alternate parking location that has the same 6'6" height restriction! 3) Create a list of nearby parking lots that allow 24 hr parking. Note their height restrictions and the cost.

Moda Hotel made our stay in Vancouver so much better! Besides quiet well maintained rooms, personable & helpful staff in an excellent location, there was an Italian restaurant for 'fine dining' and best of all, a small cafe/pub where we had several memorable meals. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Vancouver.

Staff was very helpful! Parking is across the street and a little tricky to navigate, but not a serious issue. Building is older so spaces were tight at times and floors uneven, but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Great staff. Very helpful and kind. Old rooms with new paint jobs, totally fine, as it gives an old Vancouver kind of feel. The smell in the lobby and the halls should be delt with, a bit off putting, but thankfully the room did not smell. As there are no fans, I would recommend curtains instead of the blinds, as the blinds were getting some mildew in the creases. Good value. Good cocktail bar off the lobby and so close to everything. We would stay there again.

Had some food and drinks at the wine bar. I did have a little bit of a scare with a rodent in my room and told the manager and was apologized to other than that lol everything was great. Location was perfect. Room was clean bed was a little hard.

The breaker had blown and was greeted with a dark room and had to ask for help. The floors are old wood floors with carpet so I could hear the squeak of every single footstep upstairs all night. It smelled quite bad. In fact my clothes still stank when I got home.

Check-in was slower than expected, especially considering the 3 PM check-in time. It took longer than necessary, which wasn’t ideal after a long journey. The lobby had an odd smell and didn’t feel very welcoming—something about the atmosphere felt off. On the plus side, the left luggage service was prompt, easy, and efficient—definitely appreciated. The corridors, however, had dirty carpets and felt dark and dingy, which gave a poor first impression before even entering the room. The room itself was disappointing in terms of cleanliness. There was a noticeable smell of sweat, and the carpet is dirty and smelly. That said, the sheets and bath linen were clean, which was a relief. The coffee machine is of good quality, but there was no accessible power switch or socket nearby, making it frustrating to use. The bathroom was a decent size, but the toilet seat had loose hinges and clearly needed maintenance. As for the view, the room faced another building, so not much to look at. quite a few areas need improvement—especially cleanliness and maintenance.

I had to wipe everything before I sat down. Carpet was sticky and left my shoes on the whole time. Tv didn’t work. AC didn’t work. Loud people in the rooms beside and above. Great place for location, and just over $200. Bed was clean, but nothing else was. (Toothpaste in sink, hair on things, visible mystery splashes on walls and switches)

The exhaust system from the restaurant beside/below our room which was at the rear of our hotel room was very noisy 24/7 and you could not open the windows because of the odeur.

Floors creak when you walk on them, so it’s noisy if the person above you is walking around. Television was more like a large computer monitor. Bed was comfortable, but bathroom is old and could be updated with a new tub and sink/vanity.

Hotel definitely has a weird stale / musty smell, both in the lobby and inside the room. Fixtures and furniture are a little weird and dated, but room was very clean (found a small blood stain on a pillow case and they took if very seriously). Bed was very comfortable, AC was noisy, room was tiny but comfortable and quiet. I'd stay here again, but the hotel seems extremely overpriced for the quality of the property (you are literally paying for the location)

The hotel is absolutely perfectly located for any events on Granville such as the Commodore Ballroom, Orpheum, Vogue theatre, as well as shopping needs. The staff were friendly and positive. The lobby clean, and welcoming. The room was smaller than I expected but clean and reasonable, they had the courtesy to provide 2 blackout curtains in the room. Though small the room had all the amenities: Iron & Ironing Board, safe, coffee maker, coffee with the usual accompaniments, wine glasses, glasses and coffee mug, and a small fridge, 2 double beds, a night stand, a chair, an ottoman, a wall mounted tv, a/c unit, accented with lamps. The sheets has a slippery almost parachute/cotton blend feel, as someone with sensory awareness it took a bit to get use to. Mattress was very firm so set the expectation, and the pillows were feather down. The bathroom was clean, the provided priducts were Citrusy and fresh. The building is located on the corener of 2 busy streets, as I light sleeper I was aware of the traffic as morning rush hour started. Overall I would stay again, as it was good value, great location. I personally would bring my Loops earplugs to sleep longer and maybe see if they have a matress topper to soften it a bit.

This room was just an overnight stop before our cruise the next day, and we wanted something affordable near Canada Place. Moda fit that bill but the room was so tiny. It was hard for a family of 4 to comfortably unwind after a long day of travel. Luckily we weren’t there long. The hotel is also in a loud part of the city so expect traffic noise all day and night. It is also convenient to many shopping and dining options. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.

The room was fine, it's and older building so wasn't expecting brand new. One minor downfall was the TV was tiny and the cable services were not great. Could use with an update there. More significant were the sheets. Hands down the worst sheets I've ever had in any hotel room in my life. They felt like they had a thread count of 1. They almost seemed like sheets you put in a child's room for when they pee the bed.

Great location to walk the city. The building is old and rooms need updating. Our tiny room was next to the stairwell which was noisy with people clomping up and down the uncarpeted steps. The doors also slammed quite loudly.

The room is straight out of the 90's, with an absolutely pointless tiny tiny tv, dated and basic amenities. However the price is good, everything clean, bed was comfortable with crisp clean sheets. And quite spacious really, both bathroom and bed area. Location was perfect for us. Polite staff on check in.

Even though we only stayed one night we found the service to be excellent. Loved the small boutique feel of the property. Front desk staff were very helpful and sent out of their way to assist us. We were able to check in hours early and when told our luggage was being delivered later they told us not to worry because they would take care of it. When we returned they told us the luggage had arrived and they put it safely in our room. They offered restaurant suggestions and assisted in obtaining a taxi for us for the next morning to the airport. I’d definitely stay here again if in Vancouver.

Moda Hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from the Sky Train city center stop in a very walkable area near coffee shops and a variety of dining and shopping options. It is located on a busy street with an urban vibe. The hotel itself is a charming older building that is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are fairly basic but with comfortable beds, and considering the desirable downtown location, rates are very reasonable. We were happy with our stay and would return to Moda again in the future.

Ended up not staying after about twenty minutes in room, could hear everything from the street and from what I’m assuming was the bar under the room. Area around hotel felt very unsafe and dirty. Room smelled and didn’t seem overly clean.

Breakfast was not free. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was good. The staff of the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well maintained but it is old and needs updating. The room was a bit small and the closet space limited. The bathroom floor was cold and there was no space other than the window ledge to place our toiletries. The area is noisy because of traffic and sirens from emergency vehicles. It is difficult to get a good night's sleep even though the beds are fairly comfortable. The area outside the hotel is not exactly pleasant because of bad smells and garbage stuffed on the steps and entrances of old and vacant buildings. However, the trees in their fall colour were an attractive distraction. The main advantage of the hotel is the proximity to the theatres, restaurants, cafes, and shopping centres.
