Quiet room and comfortable bed. One issue is the parking garage fits compact to small vehicles. I had a pickup truck and the turning radius to access the lower parking area was much too narrow for a truck or larger vehicle to descend.

The hotel is in a great location. The breakfast was above average but the building needs some upgrades and the elevator was pretty scary (it bumped around a lot and was extremely slow).

The availability of parking is horrible. The 1st parking garage that we were sent too was extremely tight for our SUV! The spaces were for “compact” cars only! Also, the parking garage was very tight with curves that went very deep under ground! Horrible parking! I was concerned that my automobile was going to get “stuck” and have to towed out! Street parking is free after 9pm and free on Sundays.

The staff was very welcoming and polite upon arrival and gave detailed instructions for parking, although in the dark and no light for the sign it was hard to see. There was only 1 "working" elevator out of the 2, the wait time is about 6 minutes give or take. The elevator was also very well used and needs servicing, the L button was not propperly working, the elevator also made horrible grinding noises and would shake violently when arriving to the 6th floor. Once getting into the room we found out the lights flickered, there was an airfilter/dehumidifier for some reason, and the bathroom had no ventilation and the tub wouldnt properly drain leaving a puddle of water. Staff was amazing and very accommodating to a disabled veteran. Id say the staff, and metro would be the only reason to stay here.

Even though this hotel is only about 10-15 years old, it is really tired. The room stunk like mold, and there were two LOUD dehumidifiers running the whole time. In the middle of the night an alarm would go off because the buckets needed to be emptied. The elevators were crazy slow, to the point where a few times I was sure I was stuck. The parking garage is so tight, that many guests were concerned about damaging their cars when parking. The entire layout of the room was just odd and quite sparse. Although it was a "suite", the sofa was catacorner in the room to the TV so it was not comfortable to sit and watch TV. Also, the TV was analog thru Direct TV so each time it rained we lost signal (not that it had many stations anyway.) It's a shame that a hotel in such a beautiful location is so poorly cared for. The only saving grace is that the front desk staff were exceptionally nice.

Moldy! I usually trust Hampton Inns to be great quality/price ratio. Not here. As you get in the elevator you get an strong old building smell and a not-to-fresh carpet. We get in the room and room service had left a few chips from the previous customer in a corner. We turn on the AC and a strong mold smell came out. No wonder they have air filter in each rooms...but it does not compensate enough for the terrible air quality. As a result, my daughter developped sever asthma episodes that got worse and worse during our stay (she had episopdes like that only a few times before and always in very moldy places). The rest of us also developped mild alergy reactions that were getting better during the day when we where not at the hotel. Breakfast was not as good (less choice) as we came to expect from Hamptons. They did not bother making the pool operationnal again after covid. However staff was very freindly and helpfull. Bottom line: this place needs serious care to be habitable and up to the Hampton standards.

Convenient to Metro and trolley. Many nice restaurants on King Street. Property itself is dated, including rooms and elevators. Room was musty, which would explain the dehumidifier, which ran constantly. Bathtub was extremely slippery. Good thing a safety bar was installed. Overall, just average

The hotel is very musty smelling. The elevator smells the worst and the elevator is very very slow moving. The parking garage was hard to fine and is small. The spaces are teeny tiny and it makes it challenging getting in and out of your car. If you’re not tight next to a car you are tight next to the multiple concrete pillars in the underground garage.

Great location and over the top staff! Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, many options. Dislike- the elevator, walls and doors were dirty and seemed like it’s on its last leg. Made me nervous at times! Overall, I enjoyed my weekend stay, I would stay here again.

Property was in great location, staff was helpful and friendly. Underground garage A . The bed and pillows however were extremely uncomfortable and we got very little sleep because of it. They need to upgrade their mattresses and bedding if they want guests to return.

The staff were wonderful, beds uncomfortable, toilet was really low for tall people and the closet needed repair, however, I appreciated the joining rooms and it worked out wonderfully for our needs (family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teens). Breakfast was good also!

The Hampton Inn Alexandria hotel has a great location -- walking distance to shops, restaurants, the waterfront, and the metro train station. The free trolley stops right in front of the hotel and has numerous stops all along King Street. The hotel was always clean and well maintained, and their free breakfast offered several nice options. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet (although rather short on drawer space). Our stay, unfortunately, had to be cut short due to an injury I sustained in DC. Upon returning to the Hampton Inn that day, the hotel staff was very kind and considerate, from making me ice packs to lending me a crutch to having the housekeeping staff prioritize cleaning our room while we waited downstairs. The staff was also generous enough to refund some of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book it again in the future.

The location and price are great but it was hard to get the temp just right in the room; I asked to get a slow shower drain cleared and it wasn't done; the wifi was so slow that I just used my phone as a hotspot instead; and the bed was pretty firm, enough to be borderline uncomfortable. I didn't remember these issues from a previous (few years earlier) trip, though, and the hotel is just steps from everything.

This is a well located property close to Metro station. 2nd night there the people above us had their bathtub overflow and flooded our bathroom and room area. When arriving and couldn't find the entrance to the parking garage so I called the front desk, and the very kind women on duty, not only told us how to get there... stayed on the phone until we found the garage. She was very helpful and understanding. Great customer service

The Hampton Inn Alexandria hotel has a great location -- walking distance to shops, restaurants, the waterfront, and the metro train station. The free trolley stops right in front of the hotel and has numerous stops all along King Street. The hotel was always clean and well maintained, and their free breakfast offered several nice options. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet (although rather short on drawer space). Our stay, unfortunately, had to be cut short due to an injury I sustained in DC. Upon returning to the Hampton Inn that day, the hotel staff was very kind and considerate, from making me ice packs to lending me a crutch to having the housekeeping staff prioritize cleaning our room while we waited downstairs. The staff was also generous enough to refund some of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book it again in the future.

Wonderful stay! We parked our car for the entire stay and took the Metro (a short walk from hotel) to the National Mall in DC. The hotel is located on notable King Street in Old Town, and we were able to walk it and also catch the free Trolley to Market Square. The rooms are well-appointed and clean. The staff here are very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfect location - 5 min walk to the Metro plus the Dash bus and Old Town trolley stop right in front of the hotel - super convenient. Rooms aren't fancy, but are clean, very comfortable and have a mini-fridge and microwave. The staff was warm and friendly, the included breakfast was OK. This was an all-around great stay - I'd definitely book here again. Excellent value.

The front desk staff were outstanding from our arrival to departure. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety available each morning. Easy accessible to the Metro station and the bus/trolley circulation transit system made the trip to the Waterfront and all shops along King Street.

Everyone at the hotel was excellent! The bed was a bit firm and it creaked when moving around in them. So close to Metro. The hot breakfast changed every day which was a nice surprise. Overall a good experience!

Great location and over the top staff! Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, many options. Dislike- the elevator, walls and doors were dirty and seemed like it’s on its last leg. Made me nervous at times! Overall, I enjoyed my weekend stay, I would stay here again.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. We parked somewhere else, based on a negative comment from another reviewer. It appears that the parking is directly under the hotel, but not accessed from in front. I would call the hotel beforehand and ask what street the parking garage is accessed from if you plan on using the hotel parking.
