The Rodeway Inn in Georgetown is a great example of the adage that you get what you pay for. I reserved a room here in advance of a late-night business trip to Austin that I knew would last until 1 or 2 a.m. I wanted a place to get a few hours of sleep before driving back home to Fort Worth afterward. I checked in about 4:30 p.m. on my way down to Austin to save time later It's conveniently set along the I-35W frontage road, which worked for me. It has, however, absolutely seen better days. It's uninviting from the get-go; not only does the clerk operate from behind bulletproof plastic, but he only comes out from the back office if you ring for him. When I went to check out in the morning, he didn't come out at all. The rooms definitely need a coat of paint. They could at least touch up the walls where repairs have obviously been made. The A/C unit worked, but ran loud. The surface of the tub is discolored and scaling in places. The door doesn't close as tightly as it could. The little, plastic-wrapped bars of soap are hard as rock and nearly worthless. The shampoo left my hair dry and brittle. All of that said, the water pressure was fine, the linens were clean, the room itself was clean, the WiFi signal was strong, and the satellite TV worked, So, for the price and my needs of getting some rest at 2 a.m., it was fine. Barely. All of that said, It was com
