Great location, modern lobby and good size room. “Valet parking” is a bit costly and signage is not very clear as you still have to drive your own vehicle down to the lower floor before valet parks for you. We also had some issues with exiting as the machine would not accept our room key.

Great location, bicycle hire included was a nice surprise... cycled to Venice Beach on a beautiful sunny day. Small hotel pool but great for an early morning stretch and dip in the Jacuzzi. Helpful Concierge and parking team..our stay here was two night stopover of road trip from San Francisco via Santa Cruz and Carmel by the Sea...en route to Las Vegas.

The property was very nicely situated. Right on Ocean Drive with Pacific views. Parking on property for a fee. The restaurant was being renovated at the time so cannot comment on it. Lots of dining options very close by. Just up the street from the Santa Monica Pier. Felt pretty safe walking around.

Property was clean. Rooms have everything you need. Staff was wonderful. On Saturday afternoon and evening the pool area turned into a night club. Complete with stage, DJ and 200-300 people (not hotel guests). We were unable to use the pool, and would have to fight a huge crowd to use our bar credits. Couldn’t rest in our room due to noise and certainly couldn’t sit on your balcony and enjoy your view. Was told the party would be over at 8 pm so the kids had hopes to finally enjoy the pool but music didn’t turn off until after 9 and party goers still had the pool completely taken over until after pool closed. Staff was very understanding and obviously these events are not in their control.

Comfortable hotel near a few great attractions. Pool and hot tub was relaxing. The hotel had some construction in the lobby but was not an issue. Book bike rentals early because they have a limited number of bikes

Great service and staff, especially Ramon, who was especially helpful and attentive. Great pool and hot tub and lovely rooms. The only issue was the construction - which was noisy. The noise and construction workers caused limited access to the pool area and made hanging around our room / pool area less than desirable during the day.

NOTICE THAT PARKING IS NOT INCLUDED. IT IS VALET ONLY AND IT IS $45/DAY. Despite this, I still rate the hotel 5 stars and say it is worth it. Excellent location next to Santa Monica pier with great restaurants close by, LA tour bus pulls up right outside the hotel, nice pool and hot tub, free bicycle rentals for guests that you can ride down the boardwalk. Friendly staff and clean location. Would still recommend despite parking.

The hotel’s location is great. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. The cleanliness of my room was just ok. Upon arriving the toilet seat was dirty and trash on the nightstand. Morning deliveries are extremely loud. The rooms feel slightly dated. The original finishes are feeling a little beat up. The room could use a refresh.

Hotel is in an amazing location- right across from the beach. Check in is at 4pm but we arrived early to store our bags and explore. Managed to check in at 3pm. Only realised on our last day that we never got our “welcome drink”. Oh well. The room was large and comfortable and the view was great. You pay a lot for this. Hotel overall was a little tired looking with some amenities like ice machines and vending machines being out of order and corridor walls with a lot of dirty marks on them. Suspect from the line up of cleaning staff carts. Only hotel on this month long trip that didn’t offer bottled water for free. Had a full mini bar with extortionate prices and no room to put anything personal in the fridge if needed. The outdoor pool was good but the advertised happy hour was odd. The service person was quite rude and not very helpful. It’s no wonder it was empty. Loved that you get free bike rental with the room and the concierge and bell staff were super helpful. And friendly. Would probably stay again.

Literally fifty feet from the Santa Monica pier. This hotel is great for twenty-something’s because the vibe is energetic and party-like. Also great for families, but just know that, for some of the rooms at least, one of the shower walls is a window. So it’s cool if you want to watch your really hot girlfriend take a shower, you can do so from the comfort of your bed. Or if you want to shower while looking out into the ocean view, it’s cool. But if you are staying with your family or friends, the window does have an automatic shade that rolls down.

The hotel is great! Great location, very friendly staff, great security. We felt very safe there and everyone on staff was great! The only negative is the showers, they only have a rain can shower head in them and that is it, the pressure is really low so the shower is not nice.

🌊✨ Just got back from a stay at a property in an amazing location! Everything you could need is just a stone's throw away—plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and the iconic Santa Monica Pier right across the street. 🎡🍔 However, I was a bit let down by my "ocean view" room. It turns out, the ocean view was partially blocked by a big parking lot. 😅 Hope future guests get a heads up about that! Very average and comfortable but it is so overpriced for what you get. I didn’t like the privacy blind that comes down for the bathroom. Not enough privacy. I upgraded my room because the first room I had was supposed to be Ocean view but you could not see the ocean unless you leaned over the balcony railing.

Very nice property, great location, staff and great beds. This is not a family friendly property. The a/c was subpar and struggled to keep the room cool. We had to open the balcony door every night to cool down. This made it hard to sleep with the noise below. The biggest issue we had was the lack of amenities like a refrigerator or an in-house convenience store. We ended up buying a hard sided cooler for drinks and snacks. Not ideal but it worked. The $60 nightly rate for parking was outrageous but we found local overnight parking with in walking distance that was half the price of the hotel.

Bad service checking in and out. Only had one attendant in both instances and wait was too long. Bad service about valet parking. Waited more than 40 minutes to get my car as was not notified to go to P1 below to pick up our car.

Great location close to all the action in Santa Monica. One interaction with a staff member named Ramon was disappointing. I was called down to reception after 830 at night on the third night of our stay as they wanted to put a further lean on my card which had been declined. I showed him some online articles which clearly showed that our internet banking had been offline for 4 days and therefore could not transfer funds. He showed no empathy for the stress this would cause a family travelling with young children and was not apologetic for making us come down to reception in the evening. He told me more money would need to be taken from the card if I intended for I eat at the hotel again. Therefore we did not eat at the hotel again and chose to eat at nearby restaurants. This situation could have been handled with empathy and understanding. I have also never stayed at another hotel that requires guests to be $50 ahead on their card and takes further money off your card throughout the stay at random times. They seem very concerned that guests will leave without paying their bill to the determine of providing friendly service.

Would never book here again. After checking out I was charged with a $250 fee (which was never discussed at check in). When I called hotel to check on charge they were basically nonchalant and didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. I felt like it was a scam because none of those charges were informed to me at checkin but when I called to check charges they said “oh it’s on our website” basically $150 cleaning pet fee which I never heard any other hotel doing.. which again wasn’t informed about this charge but they insisted it was on the paper I signed. And then $50 for parking (which is so ridiculous because I’m literally staying at this hotel) and $50 for resort fee, which I understand ( but then Again wasn’t informed at check in either. Last but not least they had balconies but totally useless as they threatened us to charge $500 if we even smoked on the balcony. All in all this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my entire existence and after I notified hotel on everything nothing was done customer satisfaction. They care only about your $ and that’s it!!! Worst hotel experience ever!

Outstanding service and staff at the Shore. Best location on the pier. Great room, balcony, heated pool, concierge was the best part of our trip. He went out of his way to get to know me and my two sons. He did everything he could to make our trip the best and we won’t forget the service. Easy call to stay here again next time.

Showed up early at 10am and room wasnt ready - as expected as we were early (I had 4 rooms for our group for 3 days). Was offered priority to get rooms ready, returned at 5pm after the Hollywood tour. They couldnt find me, asked me to wait and checked in the others in my party. Said looks like you lost me but they replied very sternly to wait and give them some time. I reminded them of the priority checkin offer 7 hours ago. Then they gave me a ground floor room, although i had requested above ground. Asked if its as nice as the above ground - they would only say its all they have. I asked how long til an above ground room is ready -they didnt know. So i took the ground floor which was at the very end of the hall, had a tall frosted glass outside the very small patio so you couldn't see anything. Card on the table said Happy Anniversay to some other couple. Switched rooms to 2nd floor. Next day left a 930 am, left the light on for making up the room. Returned at 4pm, room not made up, had to go back downstairs, to get them to make up the room. Great location but service needs improvement here. Lastly, we took a drink to the pool, but were asked to leave as we didn't buy the drink from the hotel. You could do way better.

I stayed here for 2 nights for business, but mixed in some pleasure. I brought my 10 yr old son along. I’ve always had a wonderful experience at this hotel in prior visits. This was my first underwhelming experience. There have been some renovations that were nice and I would have taken advantage of on an adult trip (bar/restaurant). Service was fairly non-existent. Location is fabulous! Walk out the front door and you’re in the heart of downtown, steps away from dining, shopping, beach, and the pier!

Excellent location! Santa Monica Pier across the street. 15 mins to Venice beach boardwalk. Ubers are everywhere and the wait for them anywhere in the LA area 2-4 mins.

The hotel was in a perfect location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Excellent check-in service from staff. Flexible on late checkout which was great for our situation. We were able to walk everywhere and enjoyed our stay. Restaurant was excellent as well.Will be visiting again.

The staff was very welcoming right when we checked in! The view from our room was phenomenal and made for a great weekend! The breakfast there was also great from the staff to the food! We will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in the area!

hotel was just ok, bar downstairs ran out if various alcoholic beverages , swimming pool area overcrowded, when i politely asked if i could lay on a daybed not in use....the reply was NO you need to hire them, it was standing room only, if you have a late flight and have checked out nowhere to shower after a swim, disappointing for the price you pay per night

Room was quite nice and staff were very responsive. However, the hotel continues to undergo major renovations and that really disrupted dining options in the hotel. Also, parking at the garage next door was very expensive—$55 a night, and that really added to our expense.

I had a wonderful stay at the Shore Hotel. It's a short walk to the beach and Santa Monica Pier is across the street. There rooms were clean and the bed was nice and firm. The blankets are extra warm, so keep that in mind on those warm summer days. We ate at the restaurant every morning. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. James was our waiter for most of our stay, and he was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed the hotel proximity to many restaurants, the beach and pier. It was clean and accommodating and friendly. The only issue was the entree approach for dine-in guests - meaning a soda refill costed the same as the first pour! Just petty for such a low cost item and nowhere else we went did this.
