All staff I encountered were helpful, professional, pleasant. Valet Nathaniel, especially helpful. Housekeeping Ezzy exceptional. No directories or information about facilities, amenities. Even in today’s high-tech world, paper maps, information about local services (restaurants gas stations, convenience, stores, etc) needed. (I had problems with my cell phone and could not get information.) Cost of parking for guests unreasonable Rust on the lamp base, bathtub interior, peeling, fixtures- dirty with hard water stains Towels not available in pool area Pool area needs paint. Fish water features need paint and cleaning.

We were in Jax to enjoy family. We decided to view the friendship fountain which was fabulous. The hotel has a walkway along the River straight to the fountain. It felt safe and family friendly. The Doubletree is also at the foot of the Main Street Bridge and were able to drive downtown Jax to restaurants and eateries. The pool area was great and Ruth Chris' restaurant was wonderful; both food and staff. Wonderful time!

Room didn’t have a fridge or a microwave. Didn’t have water either. Had to go to the gym to get some water. Bathroom wallpaper was in bad shape, and shelves were broken. Room felt very outdated and there a lot of wind coming through he glass sliding door. Had to pay $20 for Parking each night, even though the gates were open the entire time. Gym was good though.

We upgraded to a Suite, got upstairs and the headboard was on the same wall as the elevator shaft - we could hear the elevator going up and down so we requested a different room. All good. The staff was very friendly at the front desk and everyone we ran into in the elevators were very friendly. The pool gate was unlocked and non-guests were walking in/out of the pool. It was obvious that there were people at the pool that were just using the pool and not actually staying at the hotel. The pool deck was dirty and there was trash left everywhere at night. We were charged for parking - thinking this was a secure, Hilton/Doubletree lot. It was not. It was accessible to the public and was not secure, there were homeless people everywhere. The marijuana smell was overwhelming! It was everywhere! In the hallways, elevator, etc. It was bad and I would not bring my kids here for that reason.

This is not a 4 star hotel. The lobby is nice, but the rooms are very under maintained. Breakfast is $20 per person for very little selection and nothing for dietary allergies. Complimentary water was a hit or miss. Parking is $22 per night. The pool is nice but lawn furniture is falling apart and the pool bar has VERY limited hours and very expensive ($22 for a margarita). No food in the pantry except chips really, the ham sandwich has 1 slice of meat for $8. The general staff was sweet, but the front desk staff were quick to “get rid of you”. Rooms are gross. Dirty carpets, furniture, etc. wallpaper peeling from the walls, mold in the bathrooms, furniture falling apart. The wall as, doors, etc were all banged up and half-a$$ painted. Our first room had a rotting floor and mold, so they moved us. Second room was leaking water from the ceiling. Currently waiting to hear from management on compensation because our stay was awful. We were barely in the room other than to sleep because it was so bad. Would not recommend to anyone. The only good things were: Location is beautiful and the bed was actually super comfy. No signs of bed bugs either (we did check).

The hotel is very dated, carpet worn, stained, dirty, filthy. Walls & doors marked up everywhere. Stains on matress cover, tub stained & gross, elevators raggedy...very loud & each time it was used. Sounded like it was falling apart or sound the the building was being demolished which was very loud & disturbing because our room was near the elevator. Im a light sleeper plus no peace while awake due to the noisey elevator. One person checking in during a holiday week & one valet attendant. The carpet in the lobby leading to overpriced Ruth Chris is worn & disgusting. To be downtown & a riverfront property. It desperately needs renovated & updated. This is a very poor representation for the city of Jacksonville for guest. Spend the money & make it worth the stay & hire more help. This Doubletree can definitely afford to do much better than this. We literally showered in crocs. We definitely didn't put our bare feet on that nasty carpet. The elevator slams shut & very loud. Many gave this same review that i now see after the fact. Great location...just fix the place up like it should be in such a nice location..

Our stay was horrible. The room was dirty from the sheets to the bathroom and floors. I had to go by bleach and clean supplies to clean my room. The sheet were still dirty had to get more sheets from house cleaning who was ver rude. There was bugs on the curtains. The noise at all times was ridiculous music playing all night, Some one was fixing on a room above us doing the day. So we had no rest. I wanted to surprise my fiancé for our anniversary of 15 years and he or I didn’t enjoy. The only enjoying thing was the riverwalk. We also smelled weed smoke in the hallways that was a none smoking hall. We came to this hotel 2 or 3 years ago and we enjoyed but not this time. And all the different charges was crazy, $75 a day to room and breakfast $19.99 needs to be in the booking. I’m very unhappy!!!!! I would never stay again. And the paste on the wall every thing they hit the floor the paste would fall in the bed.

I expected more from Double Tree by Hilton. I would say the staff were very pleasant. The property itself needs to be updated. The elevators closing were hard and loud. The room's carpet needs to be upgraded as well as the cabinets. The room's door closed hard and loud and the balcony had water dripping from the room above the entire time of my stay. Please place a microwave and refrigerator in each room. It should not be room selected. Lastly, the parking garage doors need to be repaired as they do not close properly and there were water dripping from the ceiling in the garage. Just some things I noticed during my stay there.

I expected a much better room for a downtown hotel on the waterfront. There was lots of rusted metal in the bathroom, a missing handle to slide the stand-up shower glass door, damage around the room's door frame, and an engineer had to replace the battery in the door panel because my keycard stopped working. The wood around the A/C floorboard was unsightly (likely termite issues) and there weren't many nearby food places. I definitely should've stayed elsewhere for my birthday weekend. Very disappointing for my first time in Jax.

Our check in was disastrous- the clerk checked in someone else with same last name to our room and kept telling us we checked in already. We insisted we didn’t and she gave us keys. The room was occupied by the folks she put in our room. Then after thinking it was fixed we went to the SECOND room and it was occupied! We mentioned it to the Housekeeping Supervisor (Tenesha) and she took us back to the front desk, they assigned another room and she went and checked it for us while we waited in the restaurant. I appreciated her help but the whole process took 2 hours! Then finally got in a room that was clean (except carpet stains), but definitely needed updating. The bathroom was small, the shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor and the king bed sink in the middle. Only highlight was the river view but the patio door was broken. We would not stay here again.

For starters, when I first checked into my room the heat didn’t work inside the room. They switched my room to a smaller room. There’s no refrigerator or microwave in the room. For the price I paid for this room over three hundred dollars for two nights it wasn’t up to my standards. Furniture had water damage. I found hair in the shower. For the price it was horrible. Bothe sides of the hotel had balconies in the rooms but only one side had chairs and a table on the balcony which is insane to me. We had to evacuate because someone started a fire in a room. Was told I couldn’t get a late check out at 12pm. I won’t ever stay there again. Wish I could’ve gotten a refund and booked another hotel.

While the staff at this hotel was exceptionally friendly and engaging, the property itself is long overdue for renovation. The lobby creates a nice first impression, but this quickly fades upon entering the dated rooms. Our 10th floor room suffered from constant noise issues - both from the nearby bridge and mysterious clanking sounds inside the walls. The bathroom was particularly problematic with a chipped bathtub and an excessively loud exhaust fan. The exterior of the building appears neglected, with visible dirt and grime that could easily be addressed with pressure washing. Basic amenities were lacking as well - no refrigerators in rooms and outdated TVs without smart capabilities or even a decent channel selection. To add insult to injury, we were charged $22 for self-parking, yet we noticed the parking gates were left wide open throughout our stay, essentially allowing anyone to park for free. This inconsistent policy meant we paid for a service that others received at no cost. Though the wonderful staff does their best, they can't compensate for the significant infrastructure issues throughout this property.

Every staff member we came in contact with was AMAZING, from the front desk to the restaurant to the bell staff out front. Special shout out to Ashante at the front desk. The priperty is a little worn out...could use some updates to the rooms. But otherwise, our stay was great. And of course, love those chocolate chip cookies at check-in!

This was a great hotel. The location was perfect with a beautiful view of the river and downtown. Close to the stadium, right on the water. Loved the mid century modern exterior. Room was great- the balcony was so nice to have- loved the ability to have fresh air in the room. Yes the rooms are very 2015 and “outdated” but it was clean. Staff was fantastic. I will stay here again and again.

I received a deal on this hotel through Expedia, so all in all it was absolutely worth what I paid for. The room was clean but dated. It’s obvious some of the furniture suffered water damage at some point, and the balcony door didn’t open. The ice machine was broken. The hotel has easy access to the Riverwalk and is walkable to some dining options and the Skyway, so getting around Jacksonville was a breeze. At the rate I paid, I definitely would stay again. But not for full price.

It was comfortable and clean. Awesome view. The hotel itself was not in the best condition. Seemed older, a little deteriorated. The carpet was not nice-looking, but it was not dirty. My shower/tub was kinda yellow and worn down and the facet dripped (so annoying). Everything was just kinda.. okay. Not the greatest. No fridge. No microwave. You have to pay for valet. You have to pay for breakfast. The staff were really great and kind, no complaints there.

First night pulled back the sheet only to find they had not been cleaned well and the top sheet and a pillow cases were still soiled with what appeared to be fecal matter. The staff did see to correcting this but the amount of stain coverage should have been noticed Cece when making the bed and never overlooked. Also found it disappointing that the advertising of a pool side bar was inaccurate as it was never staffed which was a shame on a holiday weekend.

River front view was great. Got to see dolphins by the bridge at night. Lobby is way nicer than the rooms. Breakfast / drinks were way overpriced but the building next door had great deals. Overall a decent place to stay just not the quality I’ve seen from other Hiltons. Building lost power the day we were leaving but elevators were still functional.

Needs updated renovations. Would have loved the option of continental breakfast. Bar could stay open later since there is not much around. Staff were excellent. Very tentative and went above and beyond.

Bed was terrible. No in room refrigerator for medication. Few to no outlets struggled to plug in phones & CPAP. Did I mention the bed was awful? Breakfast buffet was disappointing. Much worse experience than I had 6-7 years ago when I was here regularly for business.
