We liked the space we had in a 1 bedroom apartment and the variety of pool options, being so close to tram, views from apartments were amazing. Could have had nicer outdoor furniture on balcony. Overall some of the things we didn’t like so much was many of the areas felt very dated, facilities and area indoor pool needed some attention roofing etc, the pool bar area lacked some good food options, staff at bar were not super friendly looked bored. If you are not a fan of lizards then this may not be place for you as there are many around the property and near the pool area. Overall good place for kids with range of pool options and proximity to tram.

Like surroundings the property, indoor hot tub, indoor pool dry sauna steam sauna, very huge and spacious. Barbecue area with outdoor pool, resting areas ground floor The best is we don't use our car transport just next-door from Mantra Sun City hotel trams or walk to Surfers Paradise centre 10minutes beach 5mins.

Views were amazing. Onsite parking was great. Spacious and had everything one may need BUT everything (carpets, furniture and just the whole building is VERY old and smelly. The air is stuffy. It felt like there was no ventilation in the halls… just really unpleasant. Breakfast was terrible, fruit didn’t seem fresh, scrambled egg was tasteless and there wasn’t a lot of variety at all.. hot tub wasn’t working so overall not a great experience. We’l never be back here again.

Amazing long weekend. Great location you can park with no need to drive, near tram and bus, short walk to beach and Cavil Av. Facilities are great, pools, bar and Restuarant we barely left. Staff were very friendly and everything was clean. We will definitely be going back perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Same as other reviews. Dated and some aesthetic problems that come with an ageing property but everything was functioning well and it has fantastic facilities for kids and families. The heated spas and pools are great at this time of year when it gets cooler, and the waterslides are not just for show, they are quite fast. Gym and steam room also very good. Basketball ring and tennis courts a highlight. Staff very helpful. Location great. Ocean views may not last much longer (there is a 77 story building just starting) but the 2 bedroom unit was huge and very well received. My two children loved having the master bedroom with its own bathroom. If you do not expect a flashy new fitout then you will be happy with Sun City.

The hotel is beautiful, with great pools and spa and tennis courts. We had an ocean view room which was very spacious with beautiful furniture and very comfy bed. Only 1 minute walk to the beach and esplanade and 10 walk to Cavill ave. Can highly recommend this hotel.

Huge apartment, clean great sea view, comfy bed and pillows, tram at back gate was so good when getting back to hotel after a long day. The two spas and indoor pool were fantastic, big outdoor lagoon pool looked beautiful but we didnt swim in it as to cold this time of year. The one and only small negative, which is probably out of mantras control, is some one smoking on our floor (16th) strong smell in the evenings ( only in hallway ) in the morning the hallway had always been sprayed with a air freshener of sorts. Apart from that , we loved our stay .

Very strange stay. Gave us car park access in case of late check in, great. Check in was the last time we saw any staff at reception. Maybe due to the water outage they were busy, but nobody to report the very noticeable black mould in our bathroom. As we weren’t in the hotel other to sleep, we couldn’t let them know as reception was always unattended when we came in or out. I contacted the hotel since leaving but no response. Older property, so older decor. Bed was comfy, location good, view was nice over the canal. Would have liked some more towels as no housekeeping during stay. Not sure if we would stay again.

The hotel facilities are great but the room was very old (but clean) and there is a terrible smell in the halls, worse at different times but always present. Bed was comfortable. Cleaners did a great job to room but a clean is only done at half way through your stay and only if you have a longer stay or there’s no clean. No daily room clean had the room feeling a little dirty to live in with sand, old sheets and towels etc but I must have missed that detail when booking. Parking was very easy and the location is good if you don’t want to be in the main area but only a short walk away. The beach is close by. The tram is outside the hotel gate which is great and theres a convenience store only a small walk away.

Kitchen needs serious cleaning and perhaps new appliances and cupboards - spotted 2 cockroaches Cupboards have bad odours Bathroom tile looks like third world country’s tile All rooms needs new furnitures I think the owner needs to be considerate when supplying laundry powder and dish washer powder - amount provided will barely take you through 1 wash so please buy your own dishwasher tablets and laundry powder and take some hand towels as they only provide 1. Also forget about using the dish drying rack as it has moulds all over. Lounge and cushions needs serious washing/refreshing as they look sad and stinks.

Had a king room, which was room "B"of a dual key room. The room was ok, but bedside table and bathroom vanity are delaminating, rusty metal chair in corner and need to put a blind down in bathroom due to clear windows. Noise from either adjacent room or above with water use, unsure if toilet or sink washing machine could be heard in room as distinct water hammmer , unsure what was going on but very noisy. Road noise was load and unable to open verandah etc. Have stayed in the apartments here, but the setup for king hotel room and noise from "A" apartment in dual key

Great tourist info and they booked tours for us. The tram is outside the back gate and you can buy a day pass from reception for $1.50 per person for using the whole day on trams and buses. Microwave did not work and was not replaced because they have to get in contact with the owner of the apartment. This is not convenient.

Big and spacious which is great for larger families. Great location and is right next to the tram stop. The pool is a big plus and kids loves it. But the place is really showing it's age and really need some upgrades (curtains that can't fully close, the added bed was on an angle so didn't feel great to sleep on...). On a side note the included breakfast wasn't great, it just fills the stomach if you are in a hurry.

We booked Mantra Sun City for an 8 night stay and had a wonderful time. Upon request we luckily got a renovated 2 bedroom apartment and it had ocean views. We really enjoyed our stay here and would personally rate it as a 4-4.5 star. The apartment was a huge space for our family of 5 with 2 bathrooms. The kitchen amenities were great and the pool/spa facilities were perfect. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool as well when it was a rainy day. We added on breakfast when booking through Expedia and it was the best thing as then you didn’t have to worry in the mornings with the kids. As depicted, breakfast included eggs and beans, selection of cereals, bread, toastie fillings, pancake machines, fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, lamingtons, mini muffins and tea/coffee. There was plenty to choose from. Highly recommend to include breakfast with your booking otherwise its more than double the price if you pay at the restaurant. Parking was included and it was easy to park. Resort was about 8mins walk to the centre where all the restaurants and shops are but we liked the quiet area. Staff were really friendly and pleasant to deal with. On our last day we checked out at 10am as late checkout wasn’t available due to new guests arriving and our flight wasn’t till late evening so reception staff gave us temporary cards so we could continue using the facilities and we spent the afternoon at the pool/sauna and then got ready to leave for the airport. We would definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location right in front of a tram stop! We had a one bedroom and it was nice and spacey. The hotel really needs a refurb and new furniture. We had a bit of wet weather during our stay and a couple of the windows leaked.

The girl on reception was not very Friendly. The room is old, needs an upgrade and I was under the impression that parking was free - not $20 p.night. The gate out was broken so we had to walk heaps further to get to tram. The pool areas are lovely.

Maybe due to the water outage they were busy, but nobody to report the very noticeable black mould in our bathroom. As we weren’t in the hotel other to sleep, we couldn’t let them know as reception was always unattended when we came in or out. I contacted the hotel since leaving but no response. Older property, so older decor. Bed was comfy, location good, view was nice over the canal. Would have liked some more towels as no housekeeping during stay. Not sure if we would stay again.

Property is good, but the television had intermittent freezing that went for a hour or two a day, ending up completely out of service on the whole weekend. Asked again and again for the manager to contact me, told he would, NEVER DID. Plenty of nice options to stay on the Gold Coast, so will look at these next time.

On the first night the female receptionist was very helpful with smiles and seeing her around as made some inquiries and she was very helpful On the mornings there was a male receptionist was very rude without smiles and unprofessional attitude Love the property As very disappointing that the two rooms weren’t together for our disability reasons with hearing loss as high risks with fire alarms as can’t hear them The beds were terrible as so old and soft which caused lower back pains So left very early to get to home to firm bed for my back issues The pools are fantastic and loved the atzec looks

There were few options to get a drink on arrival 9the pool cafe was about to close) the the front desk receptionist was not helpful when I asked if there was something nearby where I cold eat dinner. She asked if I had the uber ap and I didn't - she said you can order dinner on the Uber ap (which I repeated that I didn't have). I asked if there were menus in the room for nearby restaurants or cafes and she said no. Again, not very helpful. I was checking in around 6.00pm so not that late. Did I mention that there was no room service to order from? Hmmm.

Great location, very nice canal views and a comfortable room. Pools and facilities are noteworthy though we did not dine in at all and I can't remember seeing the restaurant open. We had a hotel room and I made the assumption that there would be a tidy up sometime during our 4 days but this was not the case, which I found odd for a "Hotel room", as it functions more like an apparthotel. For those without swim towels, I hope reception provided extra as wet towels for swim and shower doesn't sound appealing! We had no interaction with reception other than check in/out and that was pleasant. Be aware that if you are 100% digital carry you will need to know your credit card number off the top of your head as you cannot preauth with NFC. I suggest Mantra update as other providers can preauth $1 using this method these days.

The view was amazing, the location was great with a tram stop at the front door. Staff were friendly and helpful.The apartment was roomy and bright. The breakfast buffet was average but better than what we were expecting as a continental breakfast.It would have been good to have a disabled parking spot in the secure underground car park, but given that the building & rooms are privately owned and residents with disabilities don't have a dedicated disabled parking spot, it's an unrealistic option.

Friendly staff. Nice hotel. Comfortable beds. Great view. Nice & quiet on 22nd floor. Ten minute walk to Cavill Avenue. I had requested 2 single beds upon booking but it was overlooked. Bathroom floor tiles have dirt ingrained in them and need a scrub. Breakfast was a let down. Secure car parking was available to us for an additional fee.

We felt the room was a bit unsafe for young kids when we arrived but the staff worked to get some additions and it was much better. The pools were amazing, especially the indoor heated pool. The aesthetic of the hotel was beautiful, it really made you feel like you were on holidays. The only thing that would be great is a restaurant that does lunch and dinner

Spacious apartment, furniture and equipment varied between them, as we had to be moved because the furniture was very dated and damaged. Second apartment didn’t have tv in bedroom whilst first did, there had been one on the wall but no more.

Poolside sat in shade for a lot of the day due to sun being blocked by other buildings and being non heated, made it quite cold to swim in unless the weather was hot. Rooms were clean and well equipped and the general aesthetic of the resort was awesome. The resort backs onto one of the tram stops which was handy and everything was easy walking/tram distance.
