Another great stay at our favourite hotel in Brisbane . Always friendly and helpful staff . Rooms very clean and comfortable. Fantastic pool and jacuzzi overlooking the river . Ideal location right next to the Botanical Gardens and the new pedestrian bridge to Kangaroo Point . Five minute walk to Southbank river restaurants and a ten minute walk into the city centre. On site parking a big plus too

Pool and spa decent. Make sure you go pool before midday, after that the sun goes behind building and you will be in shade and cold. They gave me a free drink token for a bar that was closed the entire time I was staying in the hotel. That’s a new one. She even made a big deal about giving it to me when I checked in, despite knowing it was worthless. It’s a sad old hotel now, run into the ground. Shame cause the location is great.

Fantastic stay , truly loved it. Great walks nearby, great restaurants and night life bars. The only negative is the parking $50/ night is a bit steep when u have no lift to car park or no link to ur room. There was something that was dripping on my bonnet that has taken the polish off and marked my windscreen. So won’t park there again.

The room is "old" mildew in the shower and broken timbers on the furniture. It is time for a major overhaul. I have stayed there many many times over the years but I won't be staying there again.

Unfortunately our room was dusty. I actually wrote in the dust. Which was not that great for sleeping. Our superior river view also looked into other apartments. Not ideal. Had to close the curtains most of the time. $5 delivery fee for ice bucket was not anticipated. Potato gems at breakfast? No thank you!

My first meeting with staff at reception was less than great. A new staff member who was mainly by herself and didn’t really know what she was doing was not the best experience and both staff at counter were not very welcoming unlike the greeter and manager at the concierge desk who were both so lovely and helpful. My room was only partially set up, no towels or bath mat and no shampoo in the shower. After a phone call towels were delivered. The room had a lovely outlook over the river and bedding was comfortable. The hotel did not appear to be very busy as it was a week day. I have stayed here before and feel as if standard has slipped.

The rooms are very outdated. Mildew in the bathroom. Kettle didn't turn off. Lights dim. No separate shower. Only 1 person in the very small room and I had 3 beds. Lovely old place but not worth the pricing. Certainly not more than 3 star.

Was surprised with the level of cleanliness and staff for check in. Our headboard/nightstands were dusty and there was hairs in the lamp shade. The staff for the night bar area seemed miserable. Not what we expected for our honeymoon in a nice hotel.

Hair on shower/ bath wall when we first arrived and was very off putting. This reported to staff. Wine glass, spirits cans left on ledge in hallway. Great location with spectacular views. Lots of good eating choices only a short walk away. Outdoor pool was a good size with a spa. Staff were friendly.

I did not receive the room I booked. They gave us a poolside room when we were supposed to get a river view. All we could see were human butts at the pool. I had to complain to get the upgrade. The room we eventually received was a bit smaller without functioning AC. I told the front desk that the room was hot. They said to wait for it to cool down. It didn’t and there was no way to turn up the fan.

We had a Story Bridge River View Suite. This is a great room with excellent views. It was spacious and quiet. The check in could have been better. We ordered room service on our last night and this did not turn up even after ringing through to check on how far away it might be. This was the only negative though. All the staff were pleasant and courteous. The buffet breakfast is great. The location is great. Close to river ferry and great dining options.

A tired old hotel drastically in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was dysmal. Had to ask 4 times for our room |to be serviced. The attached steak/rib restaurant is vastly overpriced and decidedly average; the tables are just weird, being decorated with sexual animal cartoons. Utterly unfathomable.

This hotel was busy with rugby players which may have affected their service. Reception unhelpful and couldn't even be bothered to tell me my room was ready. Patio very dirty. Very comfy beds So nice hotel but service bad

The staff were very friendly and always willing to help, which made the stay feel welcoming from the moment I arrived. The location is great — close to everything I needed and easy to get around. I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. The front office staff lacked proper knowledge and provided poor service. I had specifically booked both breakfast and parking, but I was directed to park at 208 Magenta Road and told I would have to pay an additional $40 out of pocket. When I spoke with the duty manager, Beedi, on the day of my departure, I received no justification for this charge. Instead of offering a resolution or crediting the $40, I was told to send a formal email to address the issue. This added unnecessary work on my part, with no valid explanation or apology for the inconvenience, especially when I was already running late for my flight. Additionally, the following day there was no water bottle in my room. I had to request one, despite having paid over $445 for a one-night stay. I had booked for two days, yet the service and attention to detail were far below expectations. This experience was not only frustrating but also reflected poorly on the hotel's culture. I expect much more from a property at this price point.

The staff were amazing and couldnt do enough for us, i had a strange request for them as i had a 12 foot paddle board i needed storage for and they were impeccably fast to find somewhere for it. Will happily stay there again

Absolutely loved the location of this hotel. Really convenient for seeing Brisbane by night, using the river ferries and eating out. The staff at check-in were friendly and helpful and the room was old-fashioned but comfortable and with an amazing view. We did a deal to include parking and breakfast and that worked well for us. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed eating it outside next to the river. We were sad to be only there for one night so didn’t have time to use the swimming pool which also looked great.

A terrible disappointment. I had heard that the Stamford Plaza was the original 'grande dame' of five-star hotels in Brisbane but was shocked at the condition of the property. It's clearly on its last legs and being prepared for either sale or redevelopment as clearly no funds to modernise and update the facilities have been invested for many, many years. The main restaurant is a disgrace and not fitting of a property of this kind. An Argentinean grillhouse serves as the venue for all meals. The ambience is threadbare, the seating terrible and outdoor terrace area frankly depressing and rundown. The bar is characterless and uninviting The guest rooms are very outdated and the furnishes and fittings have long outlived both their service and aesthetic lifespans. I'm sorry but I'd have to strongly advise others from staying here. I do hope there are investment plans for this property, given its superb location on the river and being right next to the Brisbane Botanic Garden. As it stands, the hotel is a terrible letdown and frankly an embarrassment for the city of Brisbane.
