Pool was out of order but everything else was ok

Hampton has just lost our business, and anyone who asks us about Hampton. We had to change rooms twice and then leave after the first night. The first room was damp, and the rug was wet from an AC leak. The hallway's AC was broken, and we were not informed about any issues the hotel was experiencing. After moving to another room, the fire alarm rang starting at 11 pm for 20-30 minutes, and continued to sound off every two hours. The staff said at the first alarm that it was a test, which was a lie. The alarms were random and continued to go off because the heat in the hallways was triggering the alarm so that any room could have this issue. IT WAS UNINHABITABLE. They tried to make us pay for the whole week we reserved, then, after finally refunding us, they charged us for (they said one night), the first night. A night that we did not sleep and the alarm woke us every two hours. They then charged us for THREE nights. When we called, they said they had accounting system issues. WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND. THE MANAGEMENT WAS RUDE AND REFUSED TO ADMIT ANY WRONGDOING. How can the hotel even justify renting rooms in such condition? We are working with a corporation now and are still getting the run around.

This property was located in a nice area close to restaurants and a couple bars. There was plenty of parking as well. Check in was fast and the room was nice and cool upon arrival which we love. The bed wasnt the most comfortable but the pillows made up for it. The products they use in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. I love good quality and non toxic products. Blackout currents were nice as well. Great breakfast in the mornings on the weekend, the weekday didnt have as much. Water bottles at the front cost $3 a bottle. The main reason for the 4 star is the pool was not open and we were never told about it and we specifically pick hotels with a pool.

Back entrance door by the elevator was not working properly. Easy going out, but coming back the room key to unlock the door was not working for many other guests including us.

Property and room was clean. Customer service was good. Breakfast was decent (grits, chicken sausage, egg white frittas, waffles, cereal, bread (toaster didn’t work), juice, water). We were in an accessible room. The strip that holds the water in needs repairing or something higher to keep the water from spilling out all over the bathroom even though there were drains but that’s a safety hazard. The ice machine on the 1st floor was out of service ( the main floor should definitely work if nowhere else). Overall it was a good stay and we would stay again.

The A/C in the hallways didn't work. The A/C in the rooms did work but due to the high humidity inside the hotel the rooms smelled musty (and like Pinesol after they cleaned them). The ice machine on the 5th floor was broken and we couldn't use the pool (more maintenance). Not a bad place but they need to complete all the maintenance before booking more rooms.

Nice and friendly staff. The hotel was quiet, and the pool was clean. I enjoyed using the gym and restaurants were in walking distance.

Room key not working...back to desk...huge fans going in halls....door entry broken...fire alarm going off...room smelled....tried to accomodate us in another room...which did have a/c....but huge fans everywhere.....in area often, will not use again

I don't think I'll stay there again by choice. After giving us the keys, front desk agent informed us the hallway for our floor is warm because they are fixing the A/C but the rooms are air conditioned. That hallway smelled really musty and still did inside the room. We also didn’t have cold water so brushing my teeth and taking a shower was borderline painful. I reported this the next morning when we left hotel and they said they'll have maintenance check it out. We were gone all day and came back with no cold water still. Only after i texted hotel did they send someone up at 9pm! I don't know when service at Hamptons started plummeting but I will twice about booking here again. I might as well stay at Motel 6.

Super clean and modern facility. Extraordinary Gym and very good free breakfast. Super recommended.

My son and I stayed at the hotel for a baseball tournament he was attending. When we arrived the hotel staff was very friendly and got us checked in very quickly. Unfortunately our first room had a very strong mildew smell and the floor was moist. The metal fixtures were also rusty and the room door was hard to open due to the frame rubbing against the door. We went downstairs and the staff was more than helpful in giving us a new room. We went to the new room, no smell, no moist floors, but the door was the same as the other. We had a tournament that night so we left and didn't think much of it. When we returned that night, it was late so we decided to take showers and go to bed. Unfortunately there was no shower curtain. I called the front desk and they brought us one and installed it withing the half hour. After that it was not too bad, except that our door would not open until after 2 times sliding our key. It wasn't too big of a deal, but if i was being chased by a killer, I may not be here now writing this review. They just need to upgrade the rooms a little and everything will be better.

The hotel was in a great area. 10 minutes from target , food places etc. The room was dirty. Hair all over the bathroom floor, deodorant cover under the bathroom sink from previous guest, hair in the tub, weird spots on the toilet seat and smelly blankets/pillows.

I don't expect much out of more-than-reasonably-priced hotels - you get what you pay for and I understand that. But c'mon.... front end folks, at least *pretend* to be friendly. Worst service I've seen and/or experienced at a hotel and I travel a lot. The rooms smell musty (putting it kindly); and I say rooms because not only mine, but another couple I overheard complaining about it while waiting for my ride in the lobby. My sink wouldn't drain, the refrigerator sounded like it was about to explode, shower hooks in the bathroom halfway pulled out of the wall, hair all over the bathroom floor and in the shower, stains on almost every wall in the bathroom. Maybe my experience was an anomaly but I would sure recommend spending the extra $10 a night and staying elsewhere.

The building is very old and even though they renovated and made it look nice, there was mildew all over and the whole building was very humid and musty. Our room was covered in the scent of cleaning chemicals to cover it up. In our first room the sink wouldn’t drain, when they showed my mom another room, the shower didn’t work. We decided to move hotels to another Hampton Inn 10 mins away.

The hotel looked very old and dated. Carpet was gross. Bathroom was dirty. Shower had stuff on the floor and black hair. WiFi didn’t work for a few hours. Musty smell. No shampoo. Overall very dated

This Hampton Inn was excellent. Extremely clean, comfortable and great staff.

I stayed in room 109. The bathroom sick and faucet were dirty. Something smeared all over faucet. Counters had dried water spots. Sink had dried "Something" in it. Toliet doesn't flush properly and brown stain in the bottom of the toilet bowl. Gross. Refrigerator wasn't working properly. Condemnation all over the inside. Carpet is very dirty and stained. Definitely needs cleaning. I also stepped on something sharp so it didn't seem like it had been vacuumed. Or if so, it was poorly done. Price for one popsicle was $4.50 which is absurd. The only decent thing was the bed and pillows were comfortable. Thank goodness. Ill never stay here again.

I wish I would have read the reviews! I always stay in Hampton Inn but this was terrible. I must say the rooms were very clean and breakfast was great, everything was restocked, tables and counters were clean. Here was the problem: the room smelled damped, the walls and ceiling had mold, the lamp shades had burn stains and the lamps were rusted, the AC unit had rust and it made a noice all the time and there was a fire alarm going on all night, the hallway was hot!. Before I went to complain I read the reviews and realized everyone was complaining about the same issues so why bother, it was late and we were tired. Needless to say we did not book here on the way back. I took pictures but don’t see a way to upload them.

There were some stains on the wall that could have been wiped off and the smell of pot was horrendous.

Unfortunately, my stay was very disappointing. When I arrived, there were no towels in the room. The entire space felt humid and had a strong smell of mold, making it very uncomfortable to relax or sleep. It clearly wasn't properly maintained or cleaned. Would not recommend until improvements are made.

More of a business hotel. Lots of traffic noise around you, but you don’t hear anything in the hotel or your room front desk check in host very knowledgeable of area and recommendations for dinner. pretty decent breakfast.

Upon checking in we were assigned to a room that smelled very strongly of mold. I went back to the front desk to ask for a new room and the front desk person was very accommodating and gave us another room on a different floor. It was not a terrible stay but the rooms are really old. The carpet looked dirty. There was no fan in the bathroom which seemed odd to me. I think this was my one and only stay here but it was affordable so you get what you pay for I guess.

TV did not work properly. Maintenance only partially fixed it. Won’t return.

No cold water, sink or shower. Shower was scalding hot. Door cards did not work the entire stay. Run down. Do not recommend.

The AC didn't regulate well and we ran the fan to help keep the room cool. The breakfast was excellent and the area very clean. all the staff were friendly. It s looking old and dated but it seemed to be clean.

TV didn't work well - channels weren't available (believe the cable was frayed).

It was a so-so stay at a nice area overall. Hotel is in desperate need of renovations in the rooms. Not up to Hilton standards at all.

The bed was atrocious. Most uncomfortable.

The staff was unenthusiastic and made it apparent that they hate their jobs. I get it - I worked at a hotel for six years. Just caring about your job makes it so much more rewarding and less miserable, but these folks chose the other option.

I was traveling to Key West and stayed at this hotel for the night but had to book an extra day due to illness. The staff was very accommodating. I want to point out employee "Q" at the front desk who was very polite, professional and helped me get on my way with ease. I will stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Jax area. The location was just of 295 allowed me to get back on I-95 quickly.

I will be attempting to have our experience rectified by getting a refund. We refused the room the hotel wanted us to use based on a purchase through Expedia. They would not change our room. Expedia customer service - aside from agents having an accent so thick they couldn’t be understood - disconnected or hung up on me twice. We did not stay. Should I not be contacted and refunded I will take this up with my credit card company

I booked first through the Hampton app using my cash app card to make the booking. I get there and they said they didn’t take cash app. Then advised to cancel the booking and rebook using a third party but would have to do the hold fee on a card other than cash app. So in frustration I canceled the first booking, open hotels.com and make another for same room. However as I was trying to hurry didn’t check the date and booked for a few days ahead. Which the. I try to cancel a booking I just made 1 minute ago and hotels.com chat support told me I can’t transfer to desired booking to what I wanted. And is non refundable. I was advised to book again… so with the last of the funds I had. I book for what I originally did. Front desk girl changed and the woman that was “helping “ me was no longer there. I check in, she gives me keys and asked me to swipe my card for the copay… so… I swipe my cash app card and low n behold… it was accepted. The first girl I spoke to lead me to making a mistake that cost me $126 that didn’t have to be used. I hope a bird craps on her head every time she gets out of her car. If you don’t take cash app, don’t let bookings online make them with cash app. But when you are capable of accepting and you tell someone you can’t. Find another job. I’ve stayed at many Hampton’s and hotel. This was the worst experience at check in I’ve ever had!

I didn’t stay because there were damages to the hotel—fans were blowing on the upper floors with a strong chemical odor that made it hard to breathe, aside from the fact I was in mourning.. The real issue was the manager on duty. She was condescending and patronizing, repeatedly answering me with l, high-pitched “YES, Ma’aaaaaam!” in response to simple questions. When I pointed it out, she only doubled down. Very poor leadership and customer service. Thankfully, the trainee, Eliza, handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. She apologized sincerely, processed my refund, and showed the kind of customer service her manager should learn from. I left and stayed at the Holiday Inn instead—much better experience.

Staff very accommodating. Stored my luggage until check-in time - very helpful.

My wife and I stayed here for a visit to our son. The hotel was convenient to grocery stores, the interstate and restaurants. The hotel was clean, comfortable, staff was friendly and the free breakfast offered multiple options. We would stay again.

We went to Jacksonville and stayed at the Bay Meadows Hampton Inn. The hotel was excellent and located 10 minutes from UNF (University of North Florida). Our family travelled there for a college campus visit.

This property was quiet, safe, and in a great area for restaurants, shopping, things to do. The digital key gave us some issues, but the front desk assisted and resolved it for us. Would recommend and stay here again.

Hampton are always to go to hotel for consistency. They usually have the best beds, the best breakfast and the nicest people. However, this Hampton is not. Just was not like the other Hamptons. Staff was not very friendly seemed to always be chitchatting. The bed wasn’t as comfortable and the breakfast was terrible. It was very disappointing. We may have to find another go to hotel.

Coffee Machine was broken so no coffee on Saturday Not enough food out at 915/930 on Saturday - we saw a team mother complaining as well. Overall breakfast was not appealing. I travel & stay at Hampton Inns all over. King Bed Rm 325 was leaning from left to right.

There was a good choice of items for breakfast to choose from. The coffee was great too.

We had previously stayed at this hotel & it was okay. This time, the room was in great need of maintenance. The room was very damp which made the towels and sheets feel wet. The AC had broken parts laying on the floor underneath it. The worst part was that ceiling had moldy spots. Breakfast was very average and the coffee station in the lobby had cold coffee.
