Nice room, curtains were dirty but everything else clean, unexpected closure of the spa which was the main reason I picked here, unfortunately I had guests in the next room which didn't respect the notification saying quiet space....we don't all want to get up early, spa was superb on my first night, unfortunately didn't get back in due to its closure

We were really dissappointed that they never informed us that the leisure centre would be closed all week. Given it was the first week of scottish school holidays this was really poorly planned. Rooms are a bit tired. No cooling fan or aircon. No ironing board. Breakfast was okay but the bacon was pathetic and the black pudding was dry and tough. Nice dining room. Plenty of parking

All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and enthusiastic in the hotel. Food was really great - had the steak at dinner and breakfast had a really great selection available. The Executive room was spacious, very clean and had a very large bed. Only down side - there was no lift, but a member of staff helped with our luggage. A really great stay and look forward to returning in the future!

Great place I go to get away from things and relax however the sauna and steam rooms where put of order it got fix and another gentleman was in for 5 min and the wood broke so sauna had to be closed again unfortunately these facilities are why I go. No compensation or vouchers which I would have thought to be curtancy as it is part of the services the hotel supposed to offer

Visiting Knockhill, so location was perfect. Friendly staff, great pool and hot tub. Most areas were well looked after, could do with some TLC, however, work was taking place while I was there.

The grounds and staff were lovely. The lounge and bar were tidy but dated.the bedroom was awful. It was very dated, aging and drab. The bath and sink looked dirty. There were stains on bed and ?rubbish and hair bobble on floor. Part of the dressing table was carpeted! The bed was lovely. A kettle and coffee but no water. Door to garden broken hinges broken and glass of window smashed Definitely wouldn’t go again

This place could be lovely in so many ways and it’s a beautiful property. The staff is also kind and welcoming. We were really surprised by the state of our room though. We checked in late and realized that both trash cans were full from the previous guests and an unflushed toilet…. We didn’t think it was worth the hassle so we decided to leave it. The next day we also found socks on the chair , brownish-yellow smear on the bedding and used band-aid plastic on the bathroom floor. The bathroom is very humid so our bath towels didn’t dry overnight because the towel warmer doesn’t work. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating and dropped off some new ones. We left before the end of our stay.

Room could use a better clean. Attention to high dusting needed. Bathroom radiator, toilet roll holder built up dust from a long time. Swing bin broken and dirty. Light switches dirty. Net curtains ripped. Bathroom radiator only worked one night so couldn’t head the towels. Hair from previous guests left in bath plug hole. Staff were nice and pleasant however. Other guests were quite loud in rooms next door on a couple of nights so didn’t sleep well those nights. Wasn’t a fan of the buffet full breakfast. Eggs overcooked as sitting a while. Fresh to order is always best. I only ate cereal and ham and cheese after my first cooked breakfast. Evening meals were nice but a small menu to choose from.

There was nothing good about the stay, I followed your description of the hotel and it was not a true reflection of the hotel. I will not stay here again and feel cheated having paid upfront otherwise I would have moved hotels. The shower was covered with long black hair before me taking a shower and this remained on the shower wall for the 3 nights. Disgusting…. The bed was made but the tea, coffee etc wasn’t replenished.

Disappointed NOT what we expected ! Bathroom floor dusty and spiders web with spider behind door. Window frame filthy and tray with kettle and cups not washed from previous occupants. The whole hotel needs refurbished We could here the person in the room above us snoring in the night The staff were completely inconpitant We are frequent hotel users and we will NEVER use worst great western again.

There was an awful damp smell aroma to the floor and all along the corridor we was staying on. Ground floor. I thought it might be because the laundry room was near to our bedroom. However the bathroom in the room was clean but the damp smell was worse in there.

Wasn’t an all bad stay. The First Lady on reception was lovely and really helpful. She was an older Scottish lady with blonde hair who did everything she could to help us. Our first room had the noisiest floor boards (sounds trivial but you literally couldn’t rest your little toe without a horrendous noise. In terms of cleanliness I think they need to hire new cleaners. The dado rail in all corridors were dusty. Our room was very dusty and cobwebby. We moved rooms and the second room the bedding didn’t look like it was fresh I could be wrong but the creases looked like someone had laid in it. By this point after 10 hours driving and one room change already I decided just to sleep in it as I bring a spare pillow case and a blanket anyway. My son is autistic so I didn’t want to make him even more anxious than he already was by suggesting my bedding hadn’t been changed. Was in reach of Edinburgh (about an hour door to door using the park and ride at Halbeath) The family rooms with a shared door access need sound proofing as you can hear everything. I wouldn’t stay here again and would recommend it.

When I said "but check-in was from 3" the lady replied "Yes I know!" when I asked what time the room would be available she said that she didn't know and there was nothing she could do and would get a manager to speak to us - still waiting to speak to the manager. Audrey - the other lady on reception was amazing. She really saved the day! Her service was first class and she was so helpful she really made the stay a positive experience for us. Apart from that other receptionist, whose name I didn't get, the other staff were great too. Dinner was delicious but breakfast was disappointing- no clean bowls at the cereal, food not being replenished when it was low. I went to the hot food and there was 1 sausage, no eggs and only 2 rashers of bacon left. This should constantly be topped up. Room was clean although a bit dated. Wifi was rubbish in the room.

Just the one night stay this time, with dinner and breakfast. Required a wheelchair accessible room. Had a confirmation email within hours of booking and everything was absolutely as requested when we arrived. We made use of the leisure facilities too. Staff couldn't do enough for us, every single person we came into contact with, even helping us get the heavy wheelchair back into the car. Thank you, we will be back (we'd like the cocktail menu to be ready 🍹😉)

Would like to thank all the staff here eveyone was so helpful. Two staff members stood out, on the night we arrived there was staff shortage due to sickness, I think, But Jenny and Lucy stood out , Jenny was master of all trades reception, bar, waitress and room restocking, sorry about the last one Jenny. Then theres Lucy such a bundle of energy and always an infectious smile, even when guests where moaning about delays she carried on smiling, and then she was there for breakfast still with the smile and fantastic work ethic for such a young girl, And on check thanks to Nicola for being so friendly and helpful Thank you both for our stay Oh and the pool and hot tub was nice after a day out

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us, especially Jimmy, Jack and Lewis they were so helpful. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was fantastic. Not to mention the rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall everything we could’ve asked for and more! We definitely plan on staying again.

This is a unique property away from the City but well worth the extra 30min drive. The breakfast area view is beautiful buffet is pretty good and the staff really nice. The surrounding area is green and pretty.

Beautiful cherry blossom trees in the back with the sun room dining area looking out to them. Food is really good. Staff is really nice. Laundry services are a . If I were to visit again this is where I’d stay! (Need more signage to direct people when pulling off the road and onto the road you go on to get to it) It’s out of the city but still close enough. There’s a bakery close to it too! Would definitely recommend!!

The room was a good size and was well laid out. The bathroom gave plenty of space to put your toiletries. The staff were very nice and helpful. The food was delicious. My only issue was, that a hotel, the size of this one, their wine list was pretty pathetic. There was only one Rose and a Prosecco. There were I think 4 types of red and four of white. I drink Rose and the one they had, is the one I dislike the most, so I had to change to a white. Was extremely disappointed.

Overall a nice Hotel with pool, spa & gym. However the bar facilities were poor with a very limited selection of basics i.e. no blended whiskies or brandy selection .. Breakfast was again limited.. the toaster only done one side. The scrambled eggs were however excellent.. and jam was a tablespoonful plopped in a bowl. Not what I expected of a 4 **** hotel though.. the staff were always helpful and friendly.. we paid 4*** price and got 2.5 ** The room was relatively clean .. although the armchairs and carpet were stained.. The toilet failed to flush properly..

Well the hotel was ok on average, But the restaurant was very poor Poor service. Poor menu . Om one night i went to dinner. Asked to wait 15 minutes for a table, but there was plenty available to sit at straight away Was forgotten about. Not even ask if i wanted a drink while i was waiting. Walked out of the bar area after 40 minutes, and went elsewhere for a takaway . My previous stay was pleasant, but i wont be back

Stayed Thur 21st - Sat 23rd Nov. Room was clean & tidy if a bit dated. No light in the entrance hall to the room which made it difficult to see & access the clothes hangers in the wardrobe area. Shower took ages to get hot. But the bed was excellent & really comfy. A good nights sleep had by both of us. Leisure facilities were excellent with a good sized pool. Buffet breakfast was excellent with a good variety of choices from cereal, breads & croissants, fruit & the usual cooked items.
