Apartments Porta di Castro

Location is great. Everything is walking distance.

Eight miniature shampoo bottles but no soap. We both had different pillows and there were no spares. Aircon didn’t seem to work and rattled loudly all night. Coffee machine but no coffee, just teabags? Shower head broken and kept falling on us. Check in staff were lovely though and very helpful. They even gave us cake on arrival which was a nice touch.

The appartment itself was ok: renovated building, lots of space, clean, several eating options closeby... There was actually an elevator contrary to what was listed on Expedia, a nice surprise. My only minor gripes were that the mattress was too soft for my taste and the TV quite small. However, I had two more important concerns which negatively impacted my stay experience. The appartments are actually operated from a hotel located in Porta di Castro (about 200 meters from them). - Check-in must be done at the hotel the address of which is not present in the info shared on Expedia. Not info is visible at the appartment location. Fortunately I was able to join the owner through Expedia messages and ultimately but this was not a pleasant experience, especially since my flight was delayed and I arrived quite late. - The pool is not located in the appartment building but in the hotel at Porta di Castro. This is better than no pool but way less practical and it definitely should have been stated clearly in the description.

Good apartment in a gentrifying area near Ballard Market and a short walk to Centrale, Via Maqueds, Palazzo Reale, Cathedral etc. Nice people, the helpful receptionist is fluent in English, the breakfast young woman, who also kept the apartment spotless, is lovely. Use the train direct to Palazzo Orleans Reale station 10 minutes walk from the apartment as it’s faster and much cheaper than a taxi on the clogged roads.

Det var inte tydligt att poolen och lägenheten inte låg i samma hus när jag bokade. Det fungerade men var inte optimalt. Vi hade lägenheten med takterrassen och allt var toppen! Tyvärr för varmt i mitten av juli för att vara på den på dagtid.
