Nice little hotel in great location! Noisy neighborhood as a downside. No elevator

Hotell med perfekt läge vid Rhen. Trevlig personal och mysig restaurang med stort utbud av god mat! Tyvärr ingen hiss och många trappor att ta sig upp för med bagage. Nytt fräscht badrum medan rummet i sig hade sett sina bästa dagar.

Good breakfast and nice location. No elevator so you can carry your own suitcase.

The stay was overall great, love the quirkiness of it, it had an old German inn vibe to it, and the staff was lovely and friendly. The room was quite unique, I stayed in the top floor single room up under the roof, so a bit difficult to get up there with my heavy suitcase, 5 flight of stairs in total, most of them narrow and steep. The room is entered through the bathroom, you literally have to step over the toilet to get to the bedroom, a bit dawning to be honest, not having an extra door between the staircase and the bathroom. The shower wasn’t great, the water was only warm for a minute, just enough time to get soaped in, then it went cold and not just cold, icy cold! The window in the bathroom faced a staff area with light on all night as well as movement and activity, so the bathroom was illuminated all night, which again was a bit strange, and even though the glass was tinted I did feel a bit exposed there. The bedroom was lovely, good bed and love that there is airconditioning, though I didn’t need it as I stayed there just before Christmas, but could imagine that room getting rather toasty in the summertime. The breakfast was great, good selection and definitely something for everyone to choose from.

Kleines, gemütliches Zimmer mit etwas zu kleiner Dusche. Leider kein Aufzug, sonst alles top.

The Lowenbrau is right on the river and our room in particular had excellent river views from the top floor. I can't speak for the other rooms, but we were super happy with the 2 bedroom setup and amazing view. The facility itself is very "old school" and quirky with pictures hung everywhere, a dark, wooden restaurant (with lots of outdoor tables, too) and creaky stairs. There is no elevator so you must use the stairs to get up to the hotel rooms. The breakfast had a lot of choices with hot and cold dishes - eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, toast, etc. with OJ and coffee. We loved our stay and would recommend - assuming you get a nice river view from your room.

4年振りの宿泊でしたが、以前からの改修が終わり、エレベーターの新設、空調・内装・設備の一新、とても快適になりました。建物の古さ故室内・シャワーの狭苦しさは否めませんが、以前の上層階までのバッグの担ぎ上げ、冷たいシャワー、暖かい部屋は快適です。 駅からのアクセスは10分前後、リバーサイドと、立地が申し分ないだけに夜は騒々しい地域です。 朝食も美味しく、以前には無かった白ワイン(気が抜けていたのかもしれませんが)が加わりました。 また2年後の展示会で利用したいです。

The hotel was amazing. The location was great, the staff was friendly, they gave us an early check-in, the restaurant was wonderful (breakfast too), I would highly recommend you the Italian cuisine. The room was decent. The only bad point was that the building didn't have an elevator, do we had to carry the luggage 3 stories ourselves. Thanks.

Zimmer war recht klein, hat gebrauchsspuren, ist aber sehr sauber. Für eine Übernachtung okay, für eine Woche oder länger zu klein. Frühstücksbuffet reichhaltig und lecker, ganze Personal freundlich und sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Considering its location the room was surprisingly calm since it was possible to shut the windows with the air conditioning, except for the weekend when there is really a lot of people out. The room was not large but well designed for practicality. One negative point is that I pointed out that there was no hot water one morning and the reply was "I was not informed about it" which I did not find particularly helpful and then no hot water the next morning.

Das Personal abends war genervt und unfreundlich. Wir haben ja auch was getrunken, so ist das ja nicht, aber dann so unfreundlich geht gar nicht. Es ist dann bei einem Getränk geblieben und wir sind ein Lokal weiter gegangen, da wurde man freundlich empfangen. Des Weiteren waren die Zimmer auf, kaputter Duschkopf, Schimmel in der Dusche, Flecken auf dem Teppich und kaputte Tagesdecke, ebenso waren die Lampen übergemalt und flackerten. Das Restaurant war nicht klimatisiert, obwohl damit geworben wird. Das Ambiente in dem Restaurant war schön. Auch das Frühstück und das Personal am Morgen war völlig in Ordnung. Was auch gut war, die Klimaanlage, ohne hätte man das in dem Zimmer nicht ausgehalten.

Our family vacation to the Löwenbräu Köln Hotel during EURO 2024 was an experience we'll cherish forever. The hotel's location was incredibly convenient, nestled in the heart of the city's vibrant atmosphere and just a stone's throw away from the Rine river. Our room was not only clean and well-maintained but also boasted a stunning view of the river and the lively boardwalk below. Despite the excitement of the event and the presence of enthusiastic British supporters chanting into the night, our room remained a tranquil haven. The soundproofing was exceptional, ensuring that our nights were peaceful and our sleep undisturbed. This hotel truly offered the best of both worlds—a front-row seat to the festivities and a serene retreat when we needed it.

Svært lite rom, og enda mindre bad (som forresten var på andre sida av gangen!) Gammelt hotell uten heis, men med sentral plassering midt i gamlebyen. Noe støy nattestid. Restauranten og hotellet var fullt av atmosfære, men altså gammelt og umoderne. God frokost!

Hade enkelrum med eget handfat. Toalett och dusch mittemot i korridoren. Ok frukost. Läget var mitt i Altstadt, ingång genom restaurangen. Väldigt centralt, nära tågstationen.

Sehr laute Umgebung. Auch mitten in der Woche laute Besucher von Bars, die durch die Fenster stark zu hören sind.

I go to Cologne every year for Gamescom and usually stay in the big corporate hotels. This one was half the price and had availability so I thought I’d give it a try. I loved it! Great old world vibe. Really nice, large room with effective AC (unlike most of the big hotels). Amazing location and view. Nice, friendly staff. Included breakfast wasn’t gourmet but it was fine. The restaurant is a classic German food beer hall and is great. I’ll definitely be staying here again next year.

I stayed in a single room with a shower on the 4th floor. My main complaint is that I was above a pub called Papa Joe’s and this was very noisy until 1.30am in the morning. It was difficult to fall asleep, even with the windows closed! Breakfast was good and reception staff were friendly.

The Lowenbrau is right on the river and our room in particular had excellent river views from the top floor. I can't speak for the other rooms, but we were super happy with the 2 bedroom setup and amazing view. Eine Urige Herberge über dem Löwenbraurestaurant, dass bis 3 Uhr Nachts, geöffnet hat. Die Einrichtung hat Hogwartsflair, nur die Bilder bewegen sich nicht. Die Zimmer sind winzig mit einem schmalen Doppelbett.

Not noisy at all, as they have what seems like new double glazing and the city has a quiet after 1030 regulation. I’d 100% go back!

Excellent hotel in a beautiful part of town, the staff were very helpful. The lobby and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

Unfreundliches Personal, extrem kleines Zimmer, man hört alles aus dem Nebenzimmer und um zu duschen und auf Toilette zu gehen, muss man das Zimmer verlassen, da es gegenüberliegend am Flur ist. Die Lage ist aber echt top.

Fantastic experience for solo traveller. Very affordable and with a brilliant breakfast included. Located in the beautiful old town by the river and with much of the city in walking distance, particularly the Döm area and the shopping centre. If I ever find myself lucky enough to return to Cologne, I'll be checking in here no doubt
