Wyndham Garden Anchorage Airport

This property is very run down. Carpets and tile throughout are dirty. There was hair all over in the shower to the point I doubt it was cleaned. And paint falling off the ceiling. Parking lot was poorly lit up with lots of individuals wondering around close by all night. Pool area is in horrible disrepair. Our feet were covered in flaking paint from the area around the pool. The inside is also peeling off. Pool water was cold. Stay somewhere else for the price. Would have switched hotels if we were staying more than one night.

Room was fine, we arrived after midnight and I had called the day before to confirm we could get picked up by the airport shuttle. Upon arrival at the airport, no answer at the hotel. Took a taxi over and front desk staff didn't have an explanation other than they were 'busy'

The were barely any choices for breakfast. We stayed two nights and each morning they were out of most options for breakfast and weren’t replenished. Lots of empty containers. Had to change room three times because the first one didn’t have working heat and the second one didn’t have a door that worked. The pool was freezing and didn’t have any clean towels, it was pretty dirty.

Airport shuttle required six phone calls to hotel to show up. Waited 75 minutes and the hotel is 1.5 miles from the airport. Among the items not working at the hotel: shower, breakfast juice dispenser, pancake maker, common area TV, workout room AC/heater, workout room stationary bike. Also, pool isn’t heated, buckets in hallways for leaking ceilings. Breakfast food rates one out of ten at best. All-time worst hotel experience and this ragtag show costs upwards of $400-plus a night.

The property advertises a free airport shuttle. We waited for over 45 minutes for the shuttle which also services another location. This is not the same as having a shuttle available to take people back and forth to the airport. We also paid a taxi to take us back to the airport as we couldn’t count on a timely ride back. Others at the hotel had the same issue.

The pictures when booking this hotel are very misleading. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at with my family. I found m&ms in our bed, the building itself was very old and falling apart and the airport shuttle was despicable. Now, I don’t blame the drivers because it is not their fault. We waited an hour and a half at the airport when we arrived and waited roughly the same to get back to the airport. There is only one driver for two properties. The only decent part of our stay was the continental breakfast, but it was nothing to write home about. As a travel agent, I will recommend all my future clients to not use this hotel.

I like it beacause it was close to the airport and there is few places to eat around it.What I didn’t like was the transportation from the airport to the hotel,it never showed up.i made reservations for 915pm and there was a whole bunch of guests waiting for a ride to get to the hotel but the shuttle never came,so we all took a different shuttle because we are all tired of waiting for the the ride.

Stayed 1 night and it was miserable! Heater in the room didn’t work (-6 degrees outside)! Front desk said “some of the heaters don’t work” we moved rooms at 3am!! Next morning there’s no running water with no idea when it would be restored! And on our last day the shuttle driver left us even though we were on time! He returns and was extremely rude to us yelling at us I couldn’t believe it! Not a good place to stay, the halls constantly smell like weed!!

Nice hotel for the price. The pool is pretty cold and there were no towels for swimmers, so we got them from the front desk. Nice staff. Clean room.

Shower was covered in hair and grime. Mold in the ceiling looks like it has been painted over but it is mold.

Absolutely horrible. Mold everywhere even in the fridge. Dirty amenities out of order signs all over. The place had no clean towels to give us the room was filthy and so moldy absolutely worst hotel I have ever stayed in!

Room was not vacuumed, bathroom had hair all over the floor, the room smelled like body odor, the toilet clogged after the first flush and we were told to come and get the plunger ourselves.

The room was dirty. Bathroom had hair in shower and pee on the toilet. The end table was covered in dust and the fridge had dried food on the shelves inside. Kerig machine but no pods to make coffee.

This close to the airport, that's the only good. Room was not clean properly. Random pill on the desk chair and empty liquor bottle under the bedside chair. Room keys did not open outerdoors, forced to walk around building. Desk Clerk unsympathetic and apathetic. Save your money and stay anywhere else. Additional observations: zero parking or parking lot care, lobby, hallway, and elevator stinks of rank weed.

The sheets on both beds had obviously not been changed. They were still bunched up under comforter and had nasty stains and food crumbs. People ran up and down the hall way past midnight laughing and screaming. Overall it is filthy

My bathroom was dirty. I gave them a chance to fix it. The same dirt was still there. Also, the wifi didn't work and the pool area was also dirty.

It was a filthy room!! Trash left on the floor, dirty rag under the bed, sharp object like a screw on the floor, all the sheets and pillow cases were inside out. The room smelled bad, the ice bucket was dirty and did have a plastic liner to go in it. Had to get a new room. The front desk person didnt seem to care, or even care we were there. During check out time next day a worker was mopping the very busy lobby area and front entrance doors, but only pushing dirt and rocks with the mop around the floor, it was slippery!! The hallways carpet look very dirty and definitely need a shampoo. The reason we never ate the breakfast we were scared it wasn't prepared sanitary, worried it was like the how the hotel is like. The granddaughters were going to use the pool but thought it best to stay away from it, it too was probably filthy, but didn't check. Will never ever stay there again!!

This was the filthiest hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are dark and the bathroom smells of mildew.

This hotel is not as depicted in advertisements! It is filthy and a health hazard. The shower was covered with black mold. The halls had garbage and laundry all over them.

Everything was fine, except that our key did not work for the room!

The battery pack on the door lock was hanging down by its wires. The room was extremely cold, so I turned on the heat. Not much heat came out, and the heater was extremely noisy. I went to sleep wearing my overcoat. The “quilt” on the bed was so thin it was a joke, and did not provide any warmth. I asked for a wake-up call at 8:00sm. As of 8:05, the phone had not rung. I then left the room. The walls and/or ceiling were thin, so I to hear obnoxious people above me making a lot of noise around 1-2am.

Property was under construction and key card had to be set 4 times for a 3 night stay. Room wasn’t clean and window wide open and thermostat turned down as low as it could be. This was around midnight.

Internet was fine But very noisy all night outside the room baby’s crying doors slamming Then vagrants sitting outside the door when leaving But overall I’d stay there again very clean and staff perfect

Good: comfy beds, soft towels, nice showers, thick curtains The bad: the property is in a state of disrepair where many things don’t work and don’t get fixed. We were given a room where the door didn’t open. In the replacement room, the AC didn’t work, the clock radio was broken, the carpets were dirty, there was no “Do Not Disturb” hanger, the tv channel guide was inaccurate, and quite a few tv channels were frozen and didn’t work. Staff are friendly but overwhelmed and frustrated with the amount of repairs needed. Don’t expect anything to get addressed during your stay.

The WiFi is completely horrendous. For Alaska, where most main phone carriers have spotty (at best) service, WiFi is fundamental to have properly working as to not render electronic devices useless.

Everything about the property was great, but we were across the hall from a large group of young teen boys (maybe a traveling team?) and the noise was loud and late.

AVOID this hotel. Advertised as 3.5 star. It is ~1.5 star. Due to the false 3.5 star rating, I'll avoid Wyndham properties in the future. Pros: The staff was great; friendly, helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Location close to downtown and the airport. During my December stay, the fireplace in the lobby provided a pleasant place to relax. Cons: I wanted a clean, quiet room and a good sleep. Got none of that. Long travel, ready to crash - but the room assigned hadn't been cleaned. Back to check-in. Next room had loose tiles in the center of the bathroom floor, the tub faucet was leaking ~2.5 gallons/hour, the desk lamp was out, and the bathroom door was frayed at the bottom. Rather than move again, I stayed put. At midnight, I was awakened by my neighbor throwing something against the wall. I knocked loudly on the wall, annoyance stopped - until 2:30 am. I dressed, went to the lobby to get security to deal with it. Next day, moved to another room, which was 90F (or warmer) when I walked in. Thermostat would not shut off the heat, so back to the desk to ask for maintenance. Wifi signal was not accessible in any of the rooms I was assigned, only in the lobby. The hotel is hosting long-term refugees from local flooding. While I'm sympathetic to their plight, they were noisy, running up and down the halls at late hours, knocking on my door and others.

The staff was amazing, minus the kitchen person. The pool never had towels, even when we went at opening. When we asked for towels, they said they don’t have any. We asked for maintenance for flickering lights and a clogged toilet at check in, I ended up fixing the toilet myself after 5 hours of waiting, and unscrewing the lights. Whenever we called the front desk, though, they were helpful, but they were clearly doing 2-3 jobs. I felt bad for the evening crew because there were unhoused people outside that they had to deal with. The room itself was huge, and really perfect, and the hotel itself is great. We’d stay there again because of the staff though.

Customer service was perfect

The room was good and it was close to the airport. But, the front desk staff were incredibly rude. Particularly the person in the morning who was completely unhelpful when the airport shuttle was 20 minutes late. She was in the breakfast room helping herself and we learned later from the shuttle driver he had been trying to call and no one was picking up the phone. Several of us attempted to work with the young woman at the front desk but she was extremely rude and wouldn’t even make eye contact. Just kept saying “10 minutes” and staring at her computer screen.

The staff were not very happy. I’m not sure if the property manager teats them well because they were short handed.

The entire staff was lovely. Professional and courteous. One person stand out though. My service dog was hospitalized before we checked in, Melayna at the desk was friendly and kind. I felt seen and like my comfort was important to her. She didn’t over question about nor ignore my situation. Our room was spacious and clean. We will return to this hotel!

Very noisy, front desk lady/manager is very rude and very unprofessional.

Avoid this hotel! We arrived at midnight due to flight delay. No one was at front desk. When someone finally arrived, we were given a room that the door lock didn't work and we were unable to get in. When we went back to the desk, no one was there again. When we called for help, the clerk showed up and told is to stop yelling (which were weren't). We were told that room wasnt available after all and the only room left was a king bed room. We had 4 adults. I asked if there was a couch. The clerk said she didn't know what the rooms looked like. I asked if a pullout was available and she said no. So we slept with 3 adults on the bed and 1 on the floor. When i complained at checkout, a different clerk asked why we didn't request a pullout cot. I told her we did, but was told they didn't have those. Also, the orange juice machine and the waffle maker were out of order and yogurt was outdated.

Staff! Check-in was the worst I have ever experienced. They had no staff that was familiar with their system took about 40 Minutes for check-in. And appeared to be a waste of time to do their precheck!!

Great staff at check in . Room was up to standard , shuttle from airport took 45 minutes to arrive and they are only minutes from airport, Lady at checkout was the rudest person ever experienced at a hotel .

Airport shuttle, early check in, breakfast, accessable room. Friendly front desk. Easy checkin/out. Cons; property is older and not in a great area of town.

Close to airport

While walking around exterior of the property, there seemed to be a lot of homeless people. Many were talking to themselves and a couple asked for money.

I like how close to the airport it is

There was a lot of traffic from homeless out back, there were a few rooms that had druggies in and out all night long, management took care of it as quick as they could. The room my daughter stayed in had mold in the ceiling, they had to switch rooms. The location is extremely convenient for what we needed. All in all it wasn’t to bad for the price but won’t stay again due to the amount of homeless and junkies!!

Good hotel close to the airport with provided shuttle. Breakfast is OK without many healthy options... It's pretty basic (but appreciated). Take a short walk up to Taco King for killer Mexican fast food. I never miss it. The hotel is a good value the money.

Staff were helpful and polite. The location is in need of renovation and is dated. Tenets from the surrounding apartments hang out and are up all hours of the night in the front parking lot. When we arrived there was a physical altercation between two of the tenets, The next morning we heard multiple cars got broken into in the rear parking lot.

Hallway smelled like propane when i got there and people loitering around hallways. Was decent besides that

The breakfast service was awful. One toaster to share between all the guests, juice and pancake machine not working, small dinning area to accommodate the guests. We ended at McDonald's for breakfast.

Great breakfast and pool

The juice machine was broken at breakfast. Not a very good breakfast to begin with. We only stayed one night so it was fine for that. Cool bear in the front lobby!!

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and they provided extra towels. The breakfest was really good and the coffee was fresh. Thank you so much. Very refreshing after a long flight from Michigan.
