La Quinta by Wyndham Jacksonville Butler Blvd

the pool was not advertised that it was closed (would have stayed elsewhere). the hall carpet was filthy, had to go three floors down to get ice, the room itself was okay. would I stay again, only if the amenities were up to par. by the way, the bathroom lights were very dim, should be very bright in the bathroom.

One of the elevators was broken and the water was not hot

Both elevators were down and we were put on the 4th floor. My wife had a broken knee and I have bad hips making access to the room very difficult and painful. We have stayed at this location every year for the past 4 or 5 years, sometimes more and the condition of the property has declined every year. Carpets are filthy in the rooms, outside areas have rotting wood, just generally poor. We will not be back to this location. The elevator situation was a clear ADA violation.

Wasnt good at all stayed on 6th floor hotel only had one elevator working upon checkin by night time no elevator worked very poor honestly would like a refund hotel is in terrible shape

This La Quinta is very dated and in need of an extreme update. The elevators have been trashed and smell. The swimming pool is not clean and the hot tub is in operable. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Property was dirty andsmelled of pee. Property pool had rubbish in it, no exercise room as advertised.no hot tub. Elevator out of service.

Only thing that keeps me from all 5 stars was a roped off hottub.

There is very little that actually works in the facility. There is one elevator that works for the five floors. The desk staff seem very annoyed at having to put their phones down. The other people who worked there were friendlier, at least. It says they are renovating, but it seems like that only means a lot of things don't work.

The biggest issue was that the elevators were out of service and our room was on the 5th floor. There were lots of items like beds and room furniture stacked in the hallways. Our room and the overall stay was fine. We slept fine and the check in/check out process was quick and easy.

They were remodeling so no gym and the elevator was from the 70s but the room was large and the staff friendly.

This property is 1-2 stars, Dirty bedding, one towel per soon, no soap, the bath is dirty, everything is in extremely poor condition. Will never stay here and do not recommend for anyone else to stay here for almost $100 per night you can stay pretty much anywhere else and not risk getting a skin infection.

The hotel was disgusting. The carpets are worn and dirty. The elevator looked like it was in a fire. The staff were not friendly.

This place was absolutely filthy. Kicking myself for not reading the reviews. The carpets were disgusting as well as the entire building and furniture inside of it. Pool uninhabitable. People drinking and loitering at the hotel all night and even first thing in the morning. People climbing in and out of the windows. We witnessed an altercation in the room above us followed by a gun shot. We felt physically unsafe as well as unsafe due to the cleanliness. We will be reporting this facility to the health department. The manager poses a comment to every bad review however if a manager was really trying to clean up the place they would not allow and enable the behavior of people hanging around it. Do not stay here. We stayed in room 123 supposed to be a family “suite.”

This hotel is beyond disgusting. The lobby, the hallways, and the rooms haven’t seen a carpet cleaner in years. The mess on the elevator to the room made me not want to touch the buttons. Once in the room, there was hair on the bed, mold on the floor and shower and dirt and grim found everywhere. I have pictures and would be glad to share. This hotel needs a lot of work. 0/10 stars.

Absolutely disgusting. I would never book with hotels.com or la Quinta again. Room was absolutely disgusting and had roaches along with dirty carpet and and dirty walls. Couldn’t even stay there one night. Again don’t stay at this La Quinta in Jacksonville or book with hotels.com. Didn’t stay in the room at all and was unable to be refunded despite pictures and videos of the deplorable conditions. -10/10

Roaches, bathroom dirty

Terrible. Hotel is not maintained at all. Upon arrival we found roaches in the room. When we told they front desk, her response was "she would try but has difficulty communicating with the housekeeping because of language. When we returned from our event, we found more roaches and of course no one on property to assist us. Bathroom door does not close properly. The booking was for 5 people and they only had 2 towels, 1 bar of soap, no shampoo and had to give us 2 fitted sheets to sleep on the sofa bed. No one at front desk after 10pm and they do not arrive until 10am. It is beyond obvious the management does not care at all! Of course it will not allow me to upload photos.

The hotel smells like an old cigarette casino. The toilet, towels and bathtub was disgustingly dirty. Towels had yellow stain on it. Toilet had some brown oozing thing on the corner. Bathtub floor had mold. The pool full of algae and the jacuzzi too. I felt that either one of my kids or I would of gotten a disease from it. I’ve stayed in horrible hotels. This is one of them. The breakfast was ok. The breakfast lady was probably the only nice staff there. Two ladies of the reception were a little rude. Never will I ever stay here. There was also a man in the stairway smoking marijuana. The people doing the construction there were not friendly at all either. I stayed there two nights, I regret not leaving and booking to another hotel. I never leave reviews, but I felt this one had to be done to warn other people.

Filthy, the hallway carpets looks like they have never been cleaned. And the area around the first floor elevator smelled like puke. The room i stayed in 210 was actually clean, the carpet was out dated but clean, the bed was pretty comfortable and it was pretty quiet the 3 nights we stayed. The staff was nice and the breakfast is just waffles bagels cereals and yogurt. If they changed out the carpets in the hallways it would be a great place to stay.

Elevator is filthy and nasty. My feet turned black from walking barefoot in my room.

The second floor of this hotel is apparently undergoing renovations. The interior of the elevator is not in good shape, either, with a rusty floor that is definitely in need of some attention. Outside of the elevator, there's wall paper all over and plastic on the carpet. And the hallway has a horrid smell that is, I there is from the "Velcro" carpet that is hanging off the walls there. The room is not much better either, with dirty carpet, a phone that hasn't been cleaned, refrigerator doors that were sticky and had to be disinfected, and a mattress with a big dip in it. The lamp could also be better. At least the staff is nice.

The location was great and central to our events. Very peaceful and quiet. The refrigerator wasn't operational but everything else was great. Thanks

Beginning with tv would not turn on. No maintenance on staff to correct. Two trips to the lobby for a fix. Finally got it on—but a double picture. Went to get ice—no ice bucket. Went to check in again. No buckets. I booked a room for three. One towel and wash cloth. Back to the lobby again. Elevator not working. 5th floor. Youngest person in the room is 65. No hot water in the bathroom. Cold shower. Not lukewarm. Cold. Ice machine broken on my floor. Elevator still broken at check out. Five floors with luggage for three seniors. Plus side—good location, comfortable beds, great linens.

The lavabo was block ..cool water the carpet was very dirty the filter the air conditionny was dirty...nyce pool..waffle good...the exterior dyrty...I am sorry... but never I am going there ...

The furniture had holes in it, the shower didn’t work well, and walls had patches, everything old and in need of remodeling, will never stay there again

The property is under renovation—at least on the outside…but the main elevator door is very old—it’s rusty, people drew on it—the elevator is very slow. The paint in our bathroom is a poorly painted job with patches coming off; our front door didn’t lock properly…more than 3 tries to lock it shut from the outside were necessary. Front desk staff was excellent. Price was good but you get(property wear and tear) what you pay for.

Nice quick 2 night stay. Clean and tidy. The only negative was that the tv picture was not clear.

I was in the room for 30 minutes and checked out . First the hotel had 3 sets of elevators only one was working. It was really really slow. stains all over the carpet in the hall ways up stairs and down stairs. Now for the room i walked in put my stuff down First thing i noticed no microwave or refrigerator. Then i went to the bathroom and it was pubic hair on the toilet . The tub was dirty it was hair on the wall and some brown jelly like thing going around the tub. The room was dusty like it wasn't cleaned in weeks. I called down stairs asked could i switch rooms the young lady said they had no more rooms. The bed had white sheets with a big brown stain on the sheets and comforter . i checked out and went to Springhill.

Struggled with the side entry door it’s falling apart and kept hanging up . The curtain in the room was see thru had no privacy. A/C unit sounded like a freight train

The hotel was adequate and good for the price I suppose. The room was set to 65 degrees when we came in and very cold. Overnight, the AC unit leaked condensation all over our floor, getting some of our things wet. We also had booked the room for 3 people and only had towels for two.

Fast check-in friendly desk staff, clean rooms

The cleaning person, removed my do not disturb sign from the door and proceeded to enter my room. The front desk clerk cussed me out in the front lobby in front of people, cause I complained how another cleaning lady wouldn’t hold the elevator for me and was smirking at me about it until the door closed, while also spraying male cologne as she walked through the hallway. The front desk clerk was yelling and talking over me and very hateful and rude. All I wanted to do is lodge a complaint but she found herself now a part of this complaint. The renovations during the weekend was ridiculous, no one comes to a hotel to hear a jack hammers and skill saws. I asked the front desk clerk for a later checkout than 1pm since all the noise for the last two days in a row. Makes no sense for two cleaning ladies to be on one floor, and none of them act like they could speak English. The Spanish one was the one that kept spraying cologne around my door when she was cleaning on the 5th floor, then when I moved to the 4th she began spraying as I was leaving the hotel. Overall the Wyndham hotels I’ve stayed at this was by far the worst for the building and its staff.

This place was a nightmare! The person who was checking us in was so rude and he was high on something. He insisted that I had to pay again for the room, because it didn’t show that I had already paid for it. I showed him my receipt from Hotels.com that showed I had already paid and he still insisted that I had to pay again! After about 15 minutes another employee came and showed him on the computer that my room was already paid. He didn’t even apologize for his mistake. As we walked to find our room we noticed there had been water damage to this hotel, there were pieces of wall paper missing and it smelled horrible. Once we got to our room, the first thing we saw were roaches on the wall and in the bathroom. The bathroom was disgusting, there were yellow stains all over the cabinets and walls. My husband and I had to sleep with our clothes on and with all the lights on, as we were scared roaches might climb on us as we slept. This is the dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed in. I requested a refund, but still have not heard anything back. Do not stay there!! It is unsanitary! We would have preferred to sleep in our car, but it was freezing cold that night.

I booked my room a day before I arrived because my flight landed at midnight. The staff cancelled my reservation as a no show but made things right when i arrived. I explained to her that a staff had informed me that I could arrive anytime after my check-in arrival time. My room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely book again because of the excellent customer service that was provided.

The only good thing about the property was that everything was nearby, including the port which was 25 minutes out. Next time I’m just gonna spend more money and stay closer to the port

Hotel is in a good location and close to restaurants, fast foodvand gas stations, surrounded by other large chain hotels. Upon arrival for our 2 night stay, desk clerk was rude and very uninterested in helping customers. As we arrived on the second floor, the hallway was atrocious. Filthy, old carpet that had not been cleaned in years, dirty walls and doors in the same condition. We thought of turning back, but proceeded to the room. In contrast the room was very clean, more modern and comfortable, so we stayed. Breakfast staff was friendlier and food was good with personnel keeping the area clean. Upon arrival back to our room later, both key cards did not work. Went all the way back to the desk to find that the original clerk had not authorized for the second day. No apology for the inconvenience. Room was low cost, but hallways desperately need to be cleaned or refurbished.

Good stay every time I've been in the Jacksonville area.

Older building that needs some renovations. Has an odd smell on the hallways, but could be fixed with renovations. Other than that, easy to get to and comfortable.

The property outside was beautiful. We were there for a wedding at another property that we were able to walk to in 6-7 minutes. We were on the 4th floor, the hallway was very cold and someone had torn the wallpaper on the wall. The room was clean and the bed was so soft and comfy, my husband and I didn't want to get up.

Great place for an overnight trip to Jacksonville. I have utilitzed this property multiple times on travel to and through J'Ville. The staff is always polite and efficient checking in, and they have waffle makers at the breakfast! Also, if you are a big breakfast eater, Cracker Barrel is next door. Lots of dining options in general in the area, and the area feels safe and comfortable for parking your vehicle.

Easy access from the freeway. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby. Walking distance to two chain restaurants. Easy access to downtown Jacksonville and beyond.

This hotel was nothing short of awful. And that is putting it mildly. The carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years, there was mold and water damage to the hallways that lead into the rooms, the elevator was down most of the time, and absolutely disgusting. The cleaning staff are only authorized to clean your room every three days unless you put in a request 24hrs in advance. The walls are incredibly thin, we weren’t allowed to go to sleep until after midnight most nights from the above room sounding like a party, and we were woken up by the neighbors beside us auguring(using very offensive words), or slamming the door multiple times. The tv volume in our room had one setting, loud! We had to bring our own cleaning supplies, and my husband had to take out our trash. Since the elevator was down, we encountered some very questionable people. We had our three-year-old daughter with us, and we were embarrassed that this was where we chose to spend her birthday weekend. Now the staff were absolutely fabulous! If I could rate on just customer service, everyone on payroll was super friendly and accommodating. They were trying to make a bad situation good, because they are well aware of the horrible conditions the hotel is in, and they deserve better!

Dirty hotel, customer service was terrible. Breakfast was beyond disappointing. Bagels , apples, waffles, cereal. Been to lots of hotels, worst free breakfast I’ve seen. Won’t book a La Quinta again.

I generally always book at la Quinta but this particular property one elevator only worked peeling wall paper black dirty rugs breakfast was not at all up to la Quinta standards don’t have pictures of eggs and bacon if all you give is waffles and cereal room was decent pool had a light floating in it my husband fixed it so that I felt better going In need more chlorine

The staff were great, the hallway carpeting was disgusting. Room carpet was ok to the eye, room was clean just old. TV cable was out which was upsetting. Elevators really need to be repaired , rusty doors and filthy inside. I wouldn't say here again. I checked out after one night gave up my second night ,non refundable.

First hotel that I stayed and breakfast didn’t have scramble eggs and sausage on their complement breakfast. Hotel needs an upgrade. We had issue with hot shower but they fixed very quickly

While the La Quinta was a little rough around the edges because they were renovating the hotel was clean the beds were good everything was fine and the cost was significantly less than others in the area I'd recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in dire need of a clean up of carpets. The elevator is held together by duck tape so not sure that is very safe. The breakfast was terrible. No hot breakfast and very meager supply of anything worth having

The carpets in the hallway (2nd floor) were very dirty. Looked like the hotel was very nice at one time but needs attention now. The bathtub had a large mat that appeared to be covering chips in the finish. The room was nice, but the TV was stuck on a loud setting. The remote did not adjust the volume and even though we have the same brand of TV, the manual button on the TV also would not adjust the volume. Breakfast was not good. Front desk staff was fine
