Step back in time at this vintage well kept swanky hotel. The history was amazing! The staff was always nice and accommodating. The rooms were decent size. The bedding was soft and comfy. I enjoyed the turn down every day. We had to ask for small fridge for meds. There was daily coffee in the market place on ground floor. It’s easy walking distance to most downtown attractions. The restaurant breakfast brunch is just okay. The Restaurant Bar had excellent food and beverages and had a good crowd on the weekend.

This is a wonderful old hotel! Very quiet inside. The rooms are a bit small but being an old hotel that is expected. No refrigerators but they can bring you one. Not sure if that costs extra. No blow dryers as well. Parking is close but costs. Breakfast buffet is excellent but that is extra as well. We would stay again as there is lots of entertainment within walking distance.

This hotel is many years overdue for a Reno. Our suite was not very clean (dirt in the venting system - windows dirty - caulking around window and bath horrible). The common areas are ok, but visibly “heavy worn”. I expected so much more from a historic hotel. We will choose another hotel next time. Very disappointed.

First off we checked in for our honeymoon which was made aware prior to our arrival and upon arrival. And hotel staff never registered my husband which we didn't know would become an issue. When husband went outside to smoke a cigarette (cigarette ash tray outside was full all weekend) he was locked out from our room. Although the security guard vouched for him the hotel manager wouldn't allow him a room key. Instead made security wake me up to let him in the room. Security was the best staff all weekend. Our room cleaner didn't provide us toliet tissue we had to go downstairs to get it. We started off with hardly anything on the roll anyways. Also never received replacement cups for drinking water. Room was always between 70-73 degrees no matter how low we dropped the temperature (even kept drapes shut the entire time to block out the sun). Back door of the hotel going to the garage sticks and only opens halfway. Husband hurt his shoulder to get through one time he even had to forced the door open further- this didn't happen consistently. Mold on bathroom wall and rust on bathroom blinds. Trash on floor and in elevator. Certainly wasn't worth the price we paid will not be returning to a Hilton again.

The room was not clean. Everything felt very dirty. There was a spider crawling on the curtains which were just nailed into the wall. The room was so tiny with pretty much nothing but a bed. The shower was the smallest I’ve ever seen and the shower door wouldn’t shut properly so the bathroom flooded whenever someone needed to shower. I understand the hotel is very old, but you can keep the character while also making sure it’s clean and tidy. The staff at the check-in desk were not very welcoming or personable. The TV was old and barely had any channels and the room overall was just a small box with a bed. Was really looking forward to experiencing Louisville and this beautiful hotel but was sadly very underwhelmed.

This hotel has beautiful bones. Glimpses of its former glory are everywhere. On the plus side: prompt valet parking, easy check-in, pretty public spaces, very comfortable beds, with the exception of the shower needing a good spray of bleach on the grout, the rooms were clean. The downside: absolutely frigid temperatures in the lobby and hallways. Musty smelling hallway on on floor (fortunately, not in the room ) Very strange lighting in the lobby - made it feel cold and unwelcoming. The bar was understaffed, but the drinks were solid and the bartender good. I know it's January and slow, but the place just really felt sad - perhaps some music playing in the lobby? Copies of Gatsby in the rooms? Some fragrance?

The photo used when booking the King Bed room is larger than it actually is. The picture displays 2 sitting chairs with a table in addition to the bed and desk. These rooms don’t have sitting chairs. False advertising. The front desk agreed with what we were saying and offered for us to check out and receive a refund. Little late in the day to do all that so we stayed. If we had known the room was so small, we would’ve stayed at the Brown where the King size rooms are larger with sitting area and the same price. The room didn’t have a small fridge or microwave. We were looking for another historic hotel in the area. The room was clean and bed comfy. Climate control in the room worked well. The decor gave us the vibe we were looking for in an older hotel. The breakfast buffet was good. They are pricey similar to other hotels around that area. We parked in a lot next to the hotel. $23 for the night wasn’t bad. I believe they have a parking garage with the price close to the same. Our stay wasn’t terrible. The marketing team at the Seelbach needs to advertise with the photo of the actual room.

Really nice hotel with lots of history. Exceptional staff. I highly recommend that you request a room with a normal bathroom. Ours was what they call “tiny.” We didn’t know that when we checked in. If you are 6’ or taller, you could not sit straight on the toilet without your knees pushed up to your chest. If you are a large person, there’s no way you could get in the shower.

Love the Seelbach! Our third time here and it was great! Very clean, friendly staff and love the historic building! The bathrooms are the tiniest I have ever seen but still would stay here again!

This is my third stay here. Everything was good. But I had a room on 4th street. And you couldn't sleep there because there was some drum machine bang all night long. Luckily the next night, I could move to a quiet room. Staff was very good. I'll probably be back but ask to be away from 4th street.

Rooms are small, and dated, bathroom is tiny, no fan in the bathroom, we could hear everyone outside in the hall, the air would not go below 68, the iron in the room was full of black junk and I could not use it, don’t stay here, there are plenty of other nearby options.

The room we got was definitely not the room we paid for. It was less than half the size of the description of the room that I had made my reservation for. The walls are so thin that I can hear the person next door snoring every night. We were promised daily room cleaning at check in but it did not happen until we had to asked the front desk on our third day of stay. I will say the people working the front door, luggage check in & Patrick (head of security) were exceptionally nice & helpful.

This is a beautiful Hotel. While the property is wonderful the staff is even better! We had a couple of special requests and they didn't blink an eye. A special shout out to Robert! I think he lives there because we saw him in the morning, mid day and evening. Thanks for taking good care of my special cargo.

The woman that checked us in was rude. She acted like we didn’t have a reservation. The waitress in the bar was extremely rude and dismissive. Had to ask another waitress to serve us before the first girl decided she should do her job. That was unpleasant for sure. The room and bathroom were extremely small but clean and it’s a historic building which is really cool. The Rathskeller downstairs is Interesting and it’s right on 4th street so you can easily walk to food and entertainment

Loved it! Like being on a land based cruise ship. Staff went above and beyond in service constantly. Our valet, Kevin, was so very helpful to us as I am handicapped. No one made me feel a burden and it was such a wonderful experience.

Nice lobby, polite staff, and clean rooms, however everything around this area appears to be in decay still from COVID riots and lockdown, restaurants in the area aren’t serving quality food. Also it feels like a pressure cooker when you step outside to check your car hasn’t been broken into by the homeless in the overpriced parking structure.

Shout out to Kevin who was working out front of the Seelbach- give that guy a raise for excellence in customer service! The Seelbach is absolutely stunning and rich in historic charm. Loved staying here! The only negative is the abundance of homeless individuals with mental illness that are a constant presence around the property- most are harmless but there were several that made people feel unsafe with their erratic behavior. This shouldn't keep anyone from staying here though as there is always a doorman and/or valet staff out front and security staff that walk around on the street as well. Love love love the Seelbach!

This is a cool, old-styled hotel inside and out. Furnishings and decor were very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is very conveniently located; we never walked more than four blocks to go to the convention we were in town for or for any activities afterwards.

Property is beautiful and historic. Check in was easy. Room is always wonderful as we stayed several times. Bartender and bar back was disappointing. For the cost of a pour, we don’t need someone cleaning glasses on their phone talking straight at us and an arrogant know it all bartender.

I love hotels with history, archtecture and a good var/restaurant. The Seelbach checked all these boxes and more. The hotel is beautiful, we were here just after Christmas and the decoratio s added to the beauty. We had dinner at the Old Seelbach. The bbq pork nachos were great, and the portions were generous. My husband lived the pork and wished they had it as a sandwich. Hit brown were also very good. The Seelback cocktail was ok, but the old fashioned was one of the best I have ever had, and i have hada few over the years. This was a birthday trip, and certainly one of my most memorable.

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Louisville. Staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. We requested a room change because our assigned room was far from the elevators and my cousin has issues with walking. The front desk clerk moved us to a closer and larger room. The Seelbach signature cocktail was amazing. The dining room wasn’t open for dinner. Hotel is convenient to Fourth Street. We walked to the concert at The KFC Yum Center. Watch the hotel tv channel to learn about the history. The lobby is beautiful. The beds were super comfy.

Stayed for 3 nights with my spouse. Meet another couple there for a long weekend. Had a wonderful time in and around the hotel. The breakfast was nice and the bar served great drinks in the evening. Had three of the appetizers which were all delicious. Will be back.
